We were moved by our tour company due to a handball competition at our original hotel complex. The information supplied made it out to be a suitable replacement of high standard. What a let down. Firstly the good point, room spacious and clean. No complaints. However the down sides were....... Buffet service was poor. Food Luke warm at best, it... More

We were changed to this hotel by our tour operator and it was not a good choice. Although overlooking the Danube and Margarets island its location is drab, this hotel did not live up to its 4 stars. Room was a bit dull, shades of brown, the curtain was coming off rail. The bed was made each day and the... More

We were transferred to this hotel by out travel agents as there was stated to be a problem with our originally booked one. The hotel did not live up to our expectations; the location was adjacent to blocks of communist era flats. The rooms were not bad and reasonably clean. Others who were in our group said the spa was... More

I am not sure about the other reviews on here but my friend and I arrived to find we had an upgraded room with lounge access. The lounge is open all day long and serves food and i mean good food all day long. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the train which takes you to the centre... More

On arrival, the Hotel Aquincum appears to have prime location on the river front. Inside, the prime location is quickly forgotten as the polished window fronts hide a hotel stuck with inexperienced staff and money hungry advertisements for upgrades. My room on the third floor appeared at first to be spacious, if a little outdated. The bathroom had a tub... More

The hotel doesn't look much from the outside and is in what looks like a derelict area but once inside it is very nice. One of the main reasons we booked this was because of it stating that there is a night club downstairs There is NO NIGHTCLUB. There is even a sign pointing downstairs saying 'live music bar" so... Big room with nice view to River Donau. Hotel has good bath. Staff is friendly but room service was disappointment. Remember to check your complementary coffee and tea - usually u must to peg reception to bring it to you... Also check under your bed - we found empty bottles in there... Surrounding is like little Hungarian village with nice... More

3h there and not a single reason to deserve 5 stars. Arrived after driving 3 hours under the rain by motorbike, we had to wait 1h in the hall to have our room. I had to ask a place to be able to change myself and ended in some service room. The receptionist just proposed us a glass of champagne... More

It just can't be a 5 star hotel .. They do have a nice spa but that's it nothing is good about it. Most of the staff doesn't speak english or any other language. And most important u need to take care of ur important stuff and don't put it inside the vault or inside ur bag

The blond guy in the River Bar shouldn't be around people, refused to serve me and blamed the cash register but when other bartender came there were no problem. Cursed to me and other guests in Hungarian. Rooms were clean but vorne, 13euros for breakfast was overpriced. Staff at the reception was helpful but at the check-out the time stood... More
