If you are just looking for a bed and nothing else...easy, there are thousands elsewhere in the city.If you want something more from a hostel, from the people who work and live there, if you want a community, an experience, and an atmosphere bursting with creativity, excitement and fun... welcome to Vitae, welcome to real hostel life.At the bottom of this page you can get a taste of some upcoming events in the city. We deal in all realms of nightlife here in Budapest so get ready to get involved because there's always a lot happening. As part of the Budapest Party Hostels Brand we are the least wild of the three, we still go out every night drinking, but also offer you a range of different options, and have a great environment with chill areas if you want to stay in too. We offer clean,. bright spacious rooms, with hard to beat security and the real difference, attentive and caring staff who actually take an interest in all parts of your stay in Budapest.60% of our total floor space is sociable space so that there is a ton of room for you to chill, or play games, meet people or watch dvds. We have a large modern kitchen, for you to cook for yourself or for us to cook for you, as we have in house cook-ups almost every night for just the cost of the ingredients. We know that Budapest is not just about tours, castles and churches which is why we organise something every night with a group program, but we also can suggest other cultural or party ideas for you as we like to keep ourselves with the finger on the pulse of what is going on in the city.

The hostel is located in a very busy and central road which gives you a feeling of safety and pretty much is close to all the places you need to visit in Budapest. The building is kinda old and gives you some chills when you enter BUT when you reach the floor of the hostel and see their premises you will find a nice, clean, modern, cosy and playful hostel! The people working there are mostly 20-25 years old from Australia and the US. I really liked them as they are so friendly and helpful and caring. They give away a family vibe which has convinced a lot of previously guests to join the staff. Generally, as a party hostel, they organize pre-drinking events every night and then they go out with other hostels of the city in backpackers' bars. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and the staff was cleaning literally everything every morning. There was no noise in the nights and generally the people working there are making sure that you will not find any drunk people shouting and puking in the corridors or the dorms at 3 a.m. In short one of the best hostels I have ever stayed. P.S. don't forget to get Copy (the Welsh guy) to show you the places of Budapest on the map!

I stayed at vitae for a couple of nights expecting it to be just as it’s portrayed on hostel world. Unfortunately it’s quite the opposite. I have never seen a dirtier place in my life, having stayed in over 50 hostels across Europe and South east Asia, this was by far the worst. The place is not cleaned at all, beds and linen have piss and other stains all over them. It’s the sort of place you really think twice about touching anything. Showers are absolutely foul, the fridge smells like a dead body and the building it’s located in is very dodgy and smells like a bin. The staff do their best but are essentially a bunch of drunk 20 year olds mainly from Australia. Given it’s a party hostel, you experience random people hooking up in dorm rooms, guys pissing in bins, vomiting on the floor etc. But this I can expect from a party hostel. It’s the dirtiness that made me leave.
