I loved the design of this hotel, particularly the secret door and the quirkiness of the rooms, the kitchen was a great size. It was in walking distance to some of the biggest attractions. The staff were good. It did seem that the room wasn't too clean, the sheets had a lot of hair on them.

This is the best hostel in Budapest if you like bedbugs! There are a lot of them. You can bring them home if you want some. 😊 And You don't need to hurry, they have this problem since a few months as I see in other comments. So the bugs waiting for You!

Dear Gábor, thanks for your comment. We're about to control the situation which is -- sadly -- very usual problem in the city; even in fancier hostels and hotels. We try to win this endless war regardless on money and time. Sorry! We hope that we'll meet again, and that will be better... Best, András Horváth

This was a very affordable hostel, the service and staff was nice and friendly and the indoor environment was cute and fascinating. Facilities was okay. There was no AC, only a bad working fan in our room for 8 people. It was also a bit noisy. Wifi was good though. It was a bit too of from city centre, took 35 min to walk, but only 20 min from the train station. It is a very good budget hostel but I would prefer to live loser to the city centre next time for a higher cost.

We have been in this hostel for several times and we were satisfied. It is good choice for on budget travelling. Only one minus is that you can hear your neighbours but it depends on location of your room. Stuff can speak English. Location of the hostel is really good - close to the Heroes Square.

We stayed in the Baroque Hostel for 3 nights. It's nice and close to Hero's Square (and the corresponding metro station) - but it would be helpful for the hostel to maybe provide some information on how to get there from Kelenfold train station, which I believe many people use when interrailing. The metro stop is Hosnok Tere on the yellow (M1) line.

The hostel is very quaint and sweet, with our room being through a 'mirror door' that just looks like a wardrobe. The living room/dining room/kitchen are all nice (very spacious!), pretty clean, and well stocked. The room itself was very spacious with small lockers. The lockers are not quite large enough for suitcases but keep valuables well. The key for the lockers are €5 deposit.

This is a fairly quiet hostel which is nice for couples etc. It's definitely not a party hostel - if that's what you're looking for I'd recommend somewhere in the old Jewish quarter where the bars and clubs are. It suited us though!

The staff were friendly and helped us when we asked where the local pharmacy was. However, despite being a '24 hour' reception and us specifically saying we would be checking before 8am on our day of departure, there was no one at the desk - we waited for 10 minutes but needed to catch our train. This meant we didn't receive our €5 deposit back for the key. Understandably 24 hour can be difficult to achieve but when pre-warned I expected someone to be there to greet us.

Last note though - great value, averaging €9 each a night for me and my partner. Can't beat that and it does excuse my minor gripes. Generally a good stay, thank you!

Unglaublich!!!!!

+ Ansonsten ist die Reception tagsüber sehr freundlich.

+ Das Hostel ist sehr interessant eingerichtet.

+ Wenige Leute im Bad.

It is a very clean and cozy place with various amenities. The atmosphere is really nice, the staff is very friendly and approachable, willing to help you any time. They even spend time with us by cooking traditional (Langos!) food and watch movies. They really make you feel like you are at home and not at hostel. I recommend this place to everyone!

we stayed in a twin room for 12 days here, it was definitely not a normal hostel and I didn't feel welcome the whole time. it felt like we were staying at a relatives house who didn't speak English and they also hated us. they would always stare/ scowl at us and never smiled once- there is a heap of people who seem to live there and they just use the common room all day and night and are very unwelcoming. I wouldn't stay here again- please fix the showers and buy some food bowls. the room was just ridiculous it's so small we hit our heads several times and the room next to us isn't sealed off so we got to hear them breathe or make the smallest movements. location is ok - 6 min walk to the metro and 7ish stops to the city centre.

Nice, small, clean room, shared bathroom and kitchen. Very friendly and kind stuff. It was good choice for the night we spent in Budapest. Good location, near Keleti railway station and near yellow metro line, so you could be in old town in a few minutes.

Baroque hostel is like one big quirky house with kind staff and is very affordable. It's a very spacious hostel with 2 well-equipped big kitchens and various nice communal areas to chill out and relax. The hostel was very clean and located in a nice quiet location of Budapest but very short walking distance of Hero Square and the baths.
