This hotel is excellent for its 3-star level. Very good in all parameters. Room is comfortable, though small. Storage spaces are adequate, and you can make use of the steel bar on the wall to hang things such as clothes. Bed was very comfortable. Despite being in front of the lifts, it was quiet inside the room, and you also cannot hear noises of other guests. Reception staff are very friendly and always try to help, which is rather hard to come by in this city. The bar and cafe staff are also good. Breakfast is very good, with all the healthy things you need such as dried fruit and seeds, as well as Hungarian-style pork and cheese, and many other standard things. Coffee was not good, though -- have it somewhere else. Location is in the midst of the old town and walking distance to many attractions. An Underground station is 2 minutes away. 10 minutes away is a transport hub plus the bus stop to the airport.

I can’t highly recommend this hotel enough. Pre getting there email communication with the hotel was excellent they arranged my hotel transfers and upgraded my room.

The Bar and eating area is very modern and clean you eat your breakfast here which consists of a help yourself buffet with a good range of foods.

Room - Family room was spacious and clean with a funky vibe, toiletries, hair dryer.
Bad bits - no drink making facilities in room but you can ask at the bar for hot water.
The Tv has one or two English news channels and that’s it bring your pad to watch Netflix or prime.

The staff are extremely helpful with booking tickets and advising on places to go.

This hotel is reasonably priced and centrally located within walking distance of all the sites and shopping areas.

On your last day they will keep the bags until you leave and arrange your taxi to the airport.

Can’t say anymore just book here.

Stayed in this comfy and trendy hotel between the Christmas and New Year period. The rooms are a little small, though it is explicit before you book. What makes these rooms great is the level of cleanliness and modern touch that make staying in it very practical (i.e. spacious shower in a small-ish bathroom etc.). What further adds to the appeal of the hotel is the buzzing and lively lobby, where the staff are happy to assist with any questions that you might have. On a location front, the hotel is located 2 minutes walk to Vorosmarty Square and the surrounding shops, 5 minutes walk from the Széchenyi Chain Bridge and within 10 minutes walk of a number of other prime tourist locations. On the downside, the nearest (self-serve) laundromat is more than 20 minutes walk. All in all, a great hotel and would definitely stay here again.

Stayed at the D8 Hotel for 1 night in April, wonderfully located right near the main bridge where you can walk across to get to the Fisherman's Bastion and also Buda Castle and Funicular. Very reasonably priced for the amazing location, clean modern rooms with comfortable. We had the breakfast included which was typical city hotel breakfast with enough to find something to eat before going out for a day of sightseeing. Again the location was perfect we didn't need to get transport anywhere we walked across the bridge and viewed the house of parliament and from there walk to Fisherman's Bastion and the onto Buda Castle and back, not more than about 2km walking all round! The hotel is also located very near to the main shopping district.

We booked this hotel for three nights and really enjoyed it. The funny thing is I booked the wrong hotel which we discovered when inquiring if our family members had arrived. We really enjoyed the hotel, it is open and airy with great light and colors. Our room was fine with traditional European modern space. The storage was fine for the amount of time we were staying. The breakfast was good with some variety and met differing dietary needs. The staff were helpful and friendly. We did not spend a lot of time in the hotel as we wanted to venture and see as many sites as possible. This was our second time to Budapest and this hotel is well situated to the city center and accessible to the bridges to cross the canal .

We really enjoyed our time and hope to go back again.

Spent 4 nights in this beautiful hotel. It was just perfect in every way. It looks quite new, rooms are a bit small, but nicely decorated, and ours was also impeccably clean. Great central location, within a walking distance of everything. The staff is very helpful and always with a smile, breakfast was great (compared to the average European breakfast in hotels of this price). We booked it based on reviews on this site, and we gladly join the general praising spirit.

Took a short visit to Budapest a couple of weeks before Christmas. The D8 Hotel was a trendy, unique and lovely place to stay. Travelling as a couple with a mother in law, we chose to stay in a family room. The room had a double bed and a closed off room also with a double bed, the bathroom was shared. This was perfect as it gave everyone enough privacy.

We chose to have breakfast at the hotel which was buffet style. The selection was enough and tasty but nothing fancy.

The D8 is close to some of the main landmarks of Budapest including Chain Bridge, Margaret Island and the Danube River. We chose to use the Hop On, Hop Off buses which were great value for money and meant we could visit further afield areas. A boat ride along the Danube River was also included with our bus ticket along with a few other freebies.

The Hotel was also a short walk away from some Christmas/food markets, shops and restaurants which is where we chose to go for dinner.

Overall this was a lovely break for us and the Hotel was lovely, would definitely recommend. The Szechenyi Spa is a must go and is great value for money!!

We stayed in January 2020 and we could not have chosen a better hotel. Its location is unbeatable, just right in the middle of the main touristic sights. Has a pharmacy and a convenient store near by, also all kind of restaurants.

As soon as we entered we were greeted bu the lovely staff, they were always willing to help, provided all sort of information we asked for, explained with details the hotel facilities.

The room was spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable, and trust me, we slept a lot. I probably will put more pillows or change the current ones for others that are thicker, but perhaps this is a matter of likings. We read that the room were small, but we did not think so. We were 3 and stayed in a room for 4 people, there was plenty of space for us to move around and sleep, so, if you are one of those who likes to have space, spend a little more in this type of room.

I would definitely stay again, recommend it to friends and family as well! Thank you for everything D8 team

We stayed at this hotel in the middle of February to celebrate my partner’s birthday - the hotel gave us a lovely room with a beautiful balcony and a thoughtful gift to make our celebration even more special.
The location is amazing - walking distance to shops and restaurants; easy to reach by getting the 100E bus from the airport and then a short walk.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating throughout.
The hotel itself has a very trendy informal feel to it and the room was a good size with a nice bathroom.
I found this hotel to be exceptional value for money and I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Budapest!

This Hotel is ideally located , a few hundred metres from Deak Ferenc metro station. The Hotel is situated right in the centre of the city within easy access of all the sights and attractions.
The Building itself is modern and very comfortable, rooms are a little smaller than some but the lounge is very comfortable the bar service is excellent and reasonably priced too.
Breakfast is first class, everything is fresh, well presented and great coffee.
Reception staff were very smart and helped me with directions when I arrived.
Would definitely stay there again if fortunate enough to return to Budapest.
