I stayed at Casa De La Musica hostel in July last year. The location is just great, facilities good and the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The price was great considering that I booked a bed hours prior to arrival.

We arrived here and got our room quickly, showed where the bathroom was etc. and the amenities at the hostel - was given towels etc. For what we paid we were staying in a great location and I'd return again. The only problem was the work going on at another hotel nearby with how thin the windows were - meaning sleep was very disturbed in the morning - obviously not the hostels fault. Bathroom was clean

Visiting Budapest with friends, we stayed at Casa de la musica. For some their first experience with a hostel. It's clean, a very good atmosphere and the rooms are tidy. The location of the hostel is very good and close to some of the great nightlife areas. Bring a visit to Szimpla or Instant. Both on 10min walking distance. Let yourself inform about which taxis are the best to take. Some rip you of. The one with the dices you can trust. Enjoy your stay

tl;dr: would come again? Yes, but not during August heat waves. Stayed in private room. Room and facilities were fine, but due to no air conditioning (only fan) I had the worst night during 3w Balkan travel. Staff looked overworked or overheated, I think they need air con in the reception. Towels not included. Otherwise, really cool inner yard with a scene and a small blow-up pool where ppl chilled with beer. Clean toilets/shower. Free coffee/tea, fridge. Nice Chinese takeaway on same street, you won't go hungry.

Dear Anton, Thank you for your kind feedback, we are very glad that you liked the hostel. The heatwave was indeed unexpectedly intense and long this summer, and everybody was shocked about the hot weather, including our staff as well. We apologize, but unfortunately we are not able to install AC units and we would like to keep our prices low as well. Please note that you can ask for towels any time and the reception and they are free! We hope to see you again, maybe in cooler temperatures! :) Best regards, The Casa Staff

There are problems with this place but I would still recommend it as most of the issues didn't really bother me and I had a fun stay there nonetheless - which is what's most important to me as a backpacker! The wifi, cleanliness and music choice were a bit hit and miss and our toilet didn't have a lock. There were also two creepy older men in our dorm who kept saying pervy things to the girls so maybe the hostel could be improved if they were a bit more selective with the guests haha. That said, we found it easy to meet other travellers there and we liked the fact you can sit in the bar area and buy food and drink there or bring in your own. It's walkable to most places and not far at all from bars, public transport, supermarkets etc.

Thank you for your kind feedback Cleo, we are glad that you liked the hostel. We apologize for any inconveniences, sadly we are not able to tell who will be a pleasant roommate. We recommend our female only dorms for the ladies for more privacy, or our private rooms, if you want to make sure you're extra comfortable. We hope to see you again! Best regards, The Casa Staff

Super friendly and nice place. Colorful and full of good vibes. Down stare bar plays rave music until late evening, so if you are looking for quiet and early bedtime, then maybe this is not the place. Nice short walking distance from the central.

Really nice hostel in walking distance from the centre of Budapest. I travelled with 2 other friends and we shared a room with 1 other girl which was great. The room was spacious and comfortable and the bathrooms were very clean. Staff were very helpful. The downstairs bar area was very quiet and not what we expected after the pictures of the hostel

This is really nice place to stay in Budapest. I liked even the stair case! ;) The garden is amazing, has to be perfect for some party. It's a pity they close it quite early, when it's not summertime.

Very interesting place. The rooms were cosy. Bathrooms were clean. Music was playing late in the bar but you couldn't hear it in the room. The beer here is the cheapest I found in Budapest. Remember to bring cash as they don't accept card for the room payment

The room was really dirty and you can't pay with credit card. Furthermore there isn't elevator and if you luggage is big maybe will be complicate climb the stairs. At least, the atmosphere is great to try to meet people that is traveling alone and they wanna meet new friends.
