We found our host Laszlo, extremely helpful and wanting to ensure we got the most out of our time in Budapest. We arranged for airport pickup and were delighted Laszlo was also doing the meet and great. On way to apartment he gave us a little local history plus advice on what to do, he was fantastic. Apartment on 3rd... More

Laszlo is an excellent host. The stories of Olympics and the agility, dedication, enthusiasm and humour at 58 is quite wow... The apartment is simple, in an old 'mumbai chawl' type building but nice. The linen and bedsheets etc may need a regular change, but the breakfast and hospitality by Laszlo is absolutely worth opting for this B&B. Value for... More

My friend Nancy and I stayed at this lovely B&B, so well located in Budapest, just across the central city on the Buda side, with excellent pubic transportation. Laszlo was an excellent guide, and took us to places we wanted to see. Our breakfasts were feasts of all kinds of gourmet foods, great coffee, and good information. Laszlo is a... More

My husband & I just got back from a two night stay here in May 2014. After three weeks of tiny hotel rooms, it felt amazing to have an entire apartment to ourselves. If you're traveling with a bigger group or family, Edith's place would be perfect, as it can hold a lot of people. For two people, not only... More

We spent a week at this apartment in Budapest with our three young children. It was just what we needed: Three bedrooms and two bathrooms gave us space to spread out and not be on top of one another. The kitchen, while quite small, was more than functional; we cooked at ate most meals there, from food we got at... More

We stayed at Edith's B and B in Vienna and then took the train to Budapest. Edith's son Laszlo met us and hosted our visit. The apartment is in a very central location. He arrived in the morning and fixed us breakfast. We also hired him as a tour guide for a day. We went all over Budapest and ate... More

We were 3 women traveling to Budapest in September 2011, and our desire was to find a safe & clean B&B so we could have the authentic Hungarian experience. We also wanted the location to be convenient to public transportation and city sights. We hit the proverbial jackpot with Edith's Place! The rooms were very clean and the location was... More

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighborhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
