The hostel is quaint and inviting. The staff are so helpful. The information at check in was so valuable. The rooms are pretty spacious with plugs and reading lights. Lots of movies to watch if it's rainy or you just want to stay in. The laundry service is awesome. It is walking distance to everything you'll want to see. Don't... More

Excellent location and good value for money. The hostel was small but never felt cramped and had a great communal area to relax in. The (very friendly) staff pointed information out on the map and offered us useful advice e.g. good restaurants which was particularly helpful to me as a vegetarian. We felt very welcome there and would definitely recommend.

This hostel was located on the top floor of a very historical building. The two owners and the staff members were friendly and very helpful with maps and directions. The Loft Hostel has a lot of character with many homemade decorations (and the lockers were made of wood!) I stayed in a 4-person and it was very comfortable. Although there... More

Great place to stay in Budapest! Staff very friendly (even went out for a drink with them). They sat us down and pointed out POI on the local map for must see places & night cubs, also places to advoid. This place is the perfect location for discovering this amazing city! It has such a funky atmosphere... one of the... More

For my stay in Budapest I chose this place and didn't regret it. It's a small hostel, with a relaxed and social atmosphere. It's easy so socialize here but, at the same time, it's quiet at night since normally there aren't big groups, so you won't have trouble to get a good sleep, even in the 8 bed dorm. There... More

Spent 2 weeks in August with my daughter and a friend and from the minute we booked the apartment Gabor and his assistant Andreas looked after us so well. On arrival we had a meet and were introduced to the apartment where everything was explained to us. We also had the city main points to visit, eat and explore pointed... More

Great place! Lots of space, great atmosphere. Staff was really helpful on arrival, and they even can do laundry for you for 1000 Forints. It is in a loft, so lots of stairs. Great neighborhood, and easy walking distance from two tram/subway stations.

This was the nicest and friendliest hostel I have ever stayed in. The location is very central and the hostel is situated on the top floor of an old, traditional apartment building (great for architecture fans like myself.) The hostel itself was very cosy loft apartment with a nice kitchen, large and airy living room and dorm rooms. It felt... More

Location is pretty good, the hostel itself is ok - nothing fancy at all but meets the minimum things hostels usually provide. The staff is really nice and helpful and their tips were great! They could do with an elevator to the 4th floor, we found it hard to lug a suitcase from the 3rd to the 4th floor. And... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hi backpacker! We are here to welcome you to Budapest and also to invite you to join our community at The Loft--a community that shares with each other, explores together and stays up into the wee hours because there is still more beer in the refrigerator and the conversation is too good to end. One that celebrates the thrill of a new city, new food and new people, but also understands the need for long, glorious, uninterrupted sleep (having spent too many nights in airports to save a euro), never ending hot water and the rejuvenating qualities of a perfect, giant couch. So if you are tired--you sleep. If you are hungry--you eat. And whenever you are ready to go outside and see Budapest, we will not drag you by the wrist to the obvious places, but we will stand beside you and help to navigate the twisting roads, quirky museums, cheap cafes and uniquely-Budapest bars that collectively are the pulse of the city. We are a small space at Loft, but it suits us and our travelers perfectly. We are simply ourselves here, but the music is always on, the kettle is always on, we are happy and most of all? We really hope you will join us. The Staff, The Loft. Our hostel workers are lovers of fine cuisine, and other such things. ... more   less
