Really smart hotel, spotlessly clean everywhere, very comfortable room and bed. Nice quiet rooms with no noise at night, close to quite a few nice bars and restaurants and only around ten to fifteen minute walk to the centre of Pest.

Hotel's Favorite
From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by the superb reception team. Our room was comfortable and extremely quiet located on the fourth floor. Breakfast was excellent, everything freshly prepared including the fabulous pancakes! The hotel is located in a lovely quiet area close to some great bars and restaurants and a relatively short walk away from the Metro. We soon got to work out how to use the excellent public transport system making it easy and inexpensive to reach all of the main sites. The highlight was the evening dinner cruise on the Danube which the hotel organised. All in all, a fantastic 3 nights in a truly lovely city.

The entrance to the hotel was beautiful, the bar area was also very nice and the drinks area with unlimited coffee and water was a lovely touch. Room was average but a bit on the small side, the air conditioning was not very good and so the room was very hot during the night. No mirror in the bedroom and the lighting in the bathroom was not good to do your hair and makeup. I mirror in the bedroom by the tv area would be beneficial. Location was good, lots of little bars and restaurants practically outside with a nice vibe. Was a good walk to the river though. All in all not a bad find.

We stayed in a Junior Suite overlooking the square for our wedding anniversary. As we were staying for 3 nights we were offered a complimentary airport transfer. There was also a hand-written note, bottle of chilled wine and box of chocolates to celebrate our anniversary and we thought this was a lovely personal touch. The room was very clean and spacious, breakfast was lovely and the lounge with free coffee, water and juice was an added bonus. Special thanks to Brigitta for her help ensuring we made our candlelit cruise which was the highlight of our holiday when our taxi did not turn up. We would recommend the hotel and stay there again.

The hotel is beautiful, a wonderful mix of old and new. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, the hotel staff friendly but unobtrusive. Our room - Junior suite - had a balcony so we could listen to the sound of a guitar from the next-door restaurant, but so well sound insulted that once the window was shut, there was silence. Breakfast was well run, tables were clean, and a wide range of excellent food. The lounge has a coffee machine and free bottles of water in the fridge which was very welcome as the weather was gloriously hot! I would recommend this hotel to anyone - thank you Hotel Palazzo Vichy!

We stayed for a week on a bed & breakfast basis in a square view room & the reason that I haven't awarded 5 stars is because that would signify that everything was perfect & it wasn't quite. Initially we were allocated a 5th floor room overlooking the square, which was comfortable & spacious, however we encountered a problem with the si nk not draining & emitting a nasty smell. We reported this & the cleaning lady was sent up with a plunger, which unfortunately was never going to solve the problem, as it required the waste trap to be disconnected & thoroughly cleaned. However, when we said that we were not happy to stay in the room we were quickly allocated a new room on the 3rd floor, which was slightly smaller but perfectly adequate. The other minor issue we encountered, was that upon arrival at about 10pm we decided to have a quick drink in the lobby bar, which was staffed by the young girl who was also managing reception. We checked the drinks menu & both decided to have a beer.....no beer...."what none at all"....that's correct ! OK so we had a bottle of wine that was OK but could have been chilled more. We fancied a snack, but nothing available, not even nachos. So moan over, the staff are very pleasant & helpful, the breakfast is varied & has something for everyone, there is free coffee & water available in the lobby bar & the hotel is well located for a variety of local bars & restaurants, as it is for buses, trams & the metro. So I think that four & a half is a fair score & the hotel is certainly worth consideration.

Dear Terry W, Thank you very much for staying at our Hotel Palazzo Zichy**** on your recent city break in Budapest and for your precious time taken to share your experiences with the travelers’ community. Needless to say, that we appreciate both positive remarks and constructive criticisms too, we are rating them as a chance to improve and perfect our services. On the one hand, I was thrilled to learn, that our Front Desk Team had been able to contribute to your overall pleasant experience with their efficiency and customer-focused attitude. On the other hand, I would like to apologize for the maintenance problem in your first room. Please, rest assured, that it was an occasional issue and we will take the appropriate steps in order to avoid similar cases in the future. I would like to also thank you for your comments regarding the bar. Unfortunately, in these uncertain times we have a limited number of staff but based on your feedback we will definitely review all the possibilities whether we can upgrade the bar experience with a bartender who may attract more guests. Once again, I would like to thank you for taking the time to post your review and we truly hope that despite your mixed experiences we will have the chance to host you another time! With my best regards, Fanni Pék (fpek @ hpz . hu) Hotel Palazzo Zichy managed by Continental Group

For our first visit to Budapest we chose to stay for 3 nights at the Hotel Palazzo Zichy based on Tripadvisor reviews. We were not disappointed. The hotel is well designed and spacious. We had a superior room overlooking the Lorinc Pap square which gave a pleasant outlook. Although not huge, our room had everything we needed for a short stay including a coffee maker. Breakfast is buffet style but extensive and plentiful. It is very well laid out and staff regularly check and top up the dishes. The bar/lounge area offers free water, juice, tea and coffee throughout the day which is extremely welcome. The staff are all polite and helpful.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was beautiful, clean, had everything we needed and nothing at all was too much trouble for the front desk - they were always more than happy to help and went above and beyond! From booking a taxi to sending us robes up to the room. There was complimentary coffee and water in the lobby which was welcomed after a busy day out. The location was perfect for us as we headed out each day to explore and headed to the centre with the bars, restaurants and shops! I came with 3 friends and I think we all really would recommend here to stay and I will be looking to stay here in future when I hope to come for my boyfriends birthday.
