Callas House has a prime downtown location right next to the Hungarian State Opera House on Andrassy Avenue which is Budapest’s finest thoroughfare and center of luxury boutiques, stylish cafes, and restaurants. It was built in 1881 and is classified as a historic architectural monument. On the ground floor, Callas Cafe & Restaurant was brought back to life in 2006 through the interior designs of the world-famous architect, the late David Collins. For the 10th anniversary of its rebirth, the owners have created 25 luxury hotel rooms on the top two floors of the building. The interior design of these was once more executed by the London-based David Collins Studio, the award-winning and market-leading interior architecture practice that has brought to fruition creative and inspirational hospitality, residential and retail projects worldwide. The comfortable, tasteful and classy rooms have been carefully custom designed with natural materials and a touch of Hungarian flair. Its agelessly elegant style combines the architectural and historical glories of the building with the bravura of the designers. Callas House opened its doors in 2016, it is multifaceted and inspiring, which we are very proud of. Our dream to perfection, the unique and intimate guest rooms give a true and unusual experience to all of our guests visiting us. Come and indulge in a real art deco style palace in Budapest.

Beautiful place, friendly staff, good breakfast, perfect location! Despite being on busy Andrássy ut. the room was very quiet. There’s nothing more to add but TripAdvisor compels me to write 200 characters.

This was a wonderful spot to stay in Budapest. The staff were very kind and helpful, which is a huge plus when traveling to a foreign country. The room was very lovely and tastefully, newly decorated but in an old-school way. Bed was large and comfortable. The photos we saw online were very accurate. We had a rooftop room with access to a porch overlooking the city. The location is perfect, right next to the Opera House and Opera metro station, with lots of shopping and restaurants on Andrassy Ut, which was more traditionally Budapest-ian (it seemed to us) than staying on Vaci Ut. The cafe with free buffet breakfast was very nice. We checked out the day before Budapest unfortunately was basically shut down for coronavirus--I hope this hotel and all the other beautiful spots we visited will manage ok while everyone waits for this to pass!

Hotel is at good location. Room is clean and quiet and very comfortable. I stayed at the top floor where I have my own rooftop. It is nearby metro station, shops, restaurants. Go and book it you will not regret.

We chose this hotel after much research on trip advisor. The location was perfect and the decor was as in the pictures. We were able to check in at 11 which was great and meant we could freshen up and leave our luggage. Staff were very friendly. The rooms were clean and the bed large and comfortable. If I had to make any suggestions it would be for the bathroom to have nicer bath towels as the ones there were quite small and thin. Other than that the room suited our needs for our 3 night stay. I regularly leave positive reviews as I use the site a lot and don’t like leaving negative comments however the breakfast wasn’t as great as it could have been. There was a fairly good choice but the food was either overcooked, cold or dry. This was a disappointment as the restaurant looks lovely when you first enter and the lady who works there was friendly.
