District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.

We stayed at the Pest Buda hotel and thought it was a great hotel. We stayed in room 32 and had a beautiful room with a nice outdoor space. Room was well furnished, comfy bed, nice bathroom. Its a great location and the bistro is also very good with great food and nice wine.

The hotel has a fantastic position on Buda Castle hill close to Fisherman’s Bastion and Matthias Church, so that is great. But, you need to very sure you want to stay on the Buda side which is very quiet in the evening. Personally we didn’t mind the 20 minute walk into Pest in

Hi. We prepaid online via credit card for the whole stay; therefore there was no "deposit". The tourism fee is charged at check out. If you have specific questions regarding payment and amounts I suggest you contact the hotel - they are very responsive.

We did not drive. Taxis are very cheap. Saw some cars parked in front of the hotel, but did not see a special parking.

I believe all the rooms had private baths. we had 4 rooms all with private baths. We also used the airport shuttle arranged by the hotel. They arranged a Taxi for 2 in our party and a van for 4 of us.
