We are aged 46 and 51. We stayed 4 nights at the hotel. We arrived at midnight after delayed flight. Gentleman on reception checked us in. We booked a duplex room. It was so clean and spacious. There is a lift or stairs to get to the floors. Just a note if you have mobility issues, maybe do not book the duplex room as the stairs up to bed do not have hand rail all the way down. I have mobility issues so slowly went up and down and took my time! The hotel itself is so quiet and we often thought were only ones in hotel. No noise at night. So peaceful. Bed was very comfy but needed another pillow. Bathroom and shower fine. No issues. The whole hotel and room was very clean. The staff were all friendly. Breakfast was lovely. Good choice. The location of hotel was fantastic. 1 minute walk to Fishermans Bastion area. Jamie Oliver's Italian restaurant at bottom of the road from hotel. Felt safe walking back to Hotel at night. We used taxis to get around to other areas due to my mobility. We downloaded app called BOLT - to book and pay for taxis (yellow taxis) from wherever we were in Budapest. They would use your location on mobile to pick you up. Will definitely stay at the hotel again and have recommend to friends and family. Thank you Buda Castle hotel for a lovely stay.…
I would definitely recommend this hotel. Spotlessly clean spacious room. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom was large. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent lots on offer. The location is perfect too. Very peaceful and a short stroll to fisherman bastion and bus stop.
The hotel is perfectly located close ti Fisher Bastion. The staff is very service oriented an makes your stay a very nice one. The rooms are very spacey and if you travel with your family there are nice suites available. Nice restaurants and shops are in walking distance.
We stayed here 4 nights before Christmas, Here’s an honest review summarising what went well where’s some room for improvement.. Not so good: 1. place smells a bit like sewage (room #2) 2. Hotel reception is often abandoned, staff is not around, hard to get hold of them 3. no minibar and minibar door is broken therefore fridge out of order 4. Multiple sockets are out of order 5. Water won’t drain in the showroom. Maybe something to do with the smell (?) 6. The wardrobe door was missing 7. ”restaurant / bar” closes after breakfast 8. The place is not very lively Good: 1. Location is gorgeous 2. Staff is mostly helpful (if you find them) 3. Lots of history to this building 4. The place is clean and tidy 5. Reliable and fast wifi 6. Modern furniture 7. Confortable mattress and sheets Summary: it’s a decent hotel but definitely not a four star and should be priced accordingly.…
We arrived late and got our rooms about 9pm . Went to Jamie Oliver’s round the corner but they were not serving food . Went across to Bistro same again . Went to 2 other restaurants eventually found one near castle that served us !! So be aware of arriving late !!! Hotel room was pleasant but no bottles of water in room as advertised . No shower gel but 2 small sachets of shampoo ( luckily bought my own ) one tea bag and 2 small pots of milk so luckily didn’t need a cuppa !!!! Next morning breakfast ok asked for gluten free bread but waitress didn’t understand me the next day chef replacing food so asked again she gave me roll in packet which was excellent!!! Breakfast suitable for day ahead . Room had clean towels every day and bins emptied but no replacement tea bags and again just 2 pots of milk so if we wanted tea we could only have one cup each sharing one tea bag . Last day I asked kind man on reception who bought me up 2 sachets shower gel and 8 pots of milk but luckily we got tea bags at breakfast so could have more !! This was the only bugbear of our stay . Hotel is in quiet street, room was spacious and clean would recommend to stay if you liked a walk to civilisation. Reception staff helpful getting us taxi to town .…
We stayed for 3 nights . Top hotel. Absolutely great, perfect. Staff absolutely helpful especially Màté and Janos. Great room, great breakfast and it is a pleasure to talk with the staff. Kindness at top level. Of course we'll back hoping soon ! Thanks for all. Roberto
Very nice place to stay in Budapest. The hotel top location and quiet area. Staff very friendly and helpful. The executive room is a must. The area is very historical and very nice. Het hotel is een aanrader :)
My husband and I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights arriving late on the Saturday night. We had booked many months in advance and requested a quiet room away from restaurant and reception- unfortunately that was not taken into account and given room no.2 near the entrance electric doors/ reception and restaurant. Tried to change but no other rooms available. The good points: very helpful receptionist who helped with maps and buses. Room very large with huge bathroom, bath and separate shower. Breakfast was continental with a couple of hot options scrambled egg, scrambled egg with sausage and some veg dishes. Selection of danish and cereal. Plenty of bread to toast yourself. Self service again for hot drinks and juices, which we prefer The hotel is close by to the church and castle. We got the 16 bus opposite the church into Pest every day. Tickets available to buy on the opposite side from the machine. We loved the fact that there was no time stipulation to travel as bus runs 24/7 …
A good hotel in a good location . Busy during the day and very quiet at night. We had a large well appointed room on the ground floor with a large bathroom. The breakfast was of a good standard in the buffet style. Overall a good hotel.
Lovely boutique hotel in the castle area. Big airy room, comfortable big bed, tasty breakfast choices and most helpful staff. Quiet at night. Fantastic location near St. Matthias Church and Fisherman’s Bastion.
