The hotels web page shows available rooms to be booked online but in reality it does not have anything to do with hotel's booking system... it returns always with the same silly message to call reception, which says sorry but the rooms shown on web page are fully booked. Online booking system is worthless... IT development would be needed.
The location of the hotel is perfect within Balatonfüred and from some of the rooms you can see lake Balaton and the Tihany peninsula. You can enyoy a very nice view from the main terrace of the Hotel. The room size and quality are average, a bit overpriced compared to a 4 star hotel in Hungary or in Central Europe. The wellness is nice but the “fence” (dividing the welnness area from the beach side) is not acceptable in a hotel. The quality of the service during breakfest and especially during dinner is very low, the staff has a lack of professional knowledge and they do not know how to treat well customers/customers request. (no or very slow table service during peak period, you should ask them to clean the table of the prevoius customer, not make the table on the terrace during brekfest and dinner, etc.) The management of the hotel should try to improve the quality of service othervise the affluent customers would be avoid this hotel (as you can see it now)…
2 months ago we booked a superior room and were only given a standard small room, even though we paid half the cost way in advance. We were given room 620. 1220 was the room we paid for. Reception gave us all kinds of excuses why we couldn’t have the superior room we booked and paid for. No adjustments made.VERY DISAPPOINTED.
Typical lakeside hotel without any extras. The room was spacious, we had a balcony. The breakfast was good with a nice selection but the lunch was low quality. The place would benefit from a more precise cleaning.
We visited Füred at the end of April with whole family. Hotel is placed next to the lake with an amazing view. Beds are available on the beach. If the weather is not good enough to go on the beach you can spend yout time in the spa. There is a wide range of different services like saunas, pools etc. We were satisfied with food, too. 5/5
We stayed in this hotel in October, which was unseasonably warm, and our rooms were very hot, however, the air conditioner was not working. When we enquired about the problem we were advised that the central heating/cooling had been turned off, as it was the end of the season, and we were told to open our windows if we were hot! The white-gloved waiters were very attentive, however, the buffet dinners left a lot to be desired. The choice was ample, but the quality was very poor, and not 4 Star standard. The so-called suite that I had reserved, was actually three interconnecting regular rooms, with the middle room serving as a very underwhelming sitting room, with very little attention to décor, not what one would expect from a suite. I did initially ask for 2 interconnecting rooms, however, they do not have interconnecting rooms on the side of the building with lake views. All in all, many features of the hotel were average and could be a lot better. My husband accidentally left his jacked in the wardrobe when we checked out, and when he called the hotel, they very kindly and efficiently posted it back to him, so there are aspects of the hotel that met our expectations, however, there were others that definitely fell short of what a 4 Star hotel should offer. The hotel would certainly meet the expectations of average holidaymakers with limited international travel experience.…
We were several times guests of this hotel. The rooms, the restaurant, the wellness, the personnel, the location of this hotel are excellent. The unique view of Lake Balaton, the kindness of personnel and high quality restaurant are some extra qualities that makes this hotel highly recommendable
Hotel ( refurbished 2 years ago) was very clean and well run with attentive polite reception staff. Modern but tasteful decor and decked out tastefully for the Christmas period. 3 lifts clean and modern. Located on Lake Balaton, a short stroll to the marina area and park. Room Double with partial lake view was excellent. All items described were there, 32 inch flat tv, safe laptop size, good size fridge. Bed firm but comfortable with good quality linen, balcony good with great views. Information sheets comprehensive and 2 complimentary bottles of water but there is a Penny Market over the road to get get whatever you need. Negatives. Shower head in the wrong position and the floor got wet. No grab rail for people with mobility issues to get in/out the bath/shower as bath side is high and bath when wet can be slippery. Toilet brush was stained, toilet bin on arrival was not emptied and large mirror in room had smudges. Slight scale in kettle provided. Main door stop was in front of the wardrobe and stubbed my toe twice, 6 coat hangers (not enough) but overall the room was excellent. Breakfast had many choices which suited, in my opinion, all tastes, although seeded brown bread ran out quite often. Overall excellent with no complaints. Dinner also had a wide choice but often the food was quite cool so suggest the Hotel turn up the containers or heat the dinner plates. Overall excellent. Restaurant staff were very efficient/polite and friendly, as were the reception and room service staff. We did not use the spar for various reasons as over Christmas there were many children and too noisy for us We would recommend this Hotel to anyone and will return again, a very enjoyable stay, thank you…
The first sight of this huge modern concrete pile was depressing to this TripAdvisor. You could be on Queensland’s Gold Coast or at Miami, and it didn’t feel right for one of the more charming corners of Europe. On the plus side the hotel is sleek and works well. My room on the seventh floor was spacious and comfortable with an excellent bathroom. There was a stunning view of Lake Balaton (though I’m not sure the view of the hotel from the lake is so great). There’s hotel parking and the staff at reception were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet, included in the price, was generous and the runny scrambled egg was delicious - though more fruit options would have been nice. The hotel is a ten minute walk from Balatonfüred’s charming historic centre. There I saw several attractive old hotels (the Astoria, the Blaha Lujza etc) where, had I known about them, I would have stayed instead. For a hotel that claims to be four star, only having a buffet option for dinner seemed pretty crummy - it all felt a bit reminiscent of mass catering socialist-era hotels on Yugoslavia’s Adriatic coast.…
Very nice renovated building, modern enterior inside. Clean, well equipped rooms, comfortable beds and delicious breakfast. But the first thing at the reception after I entered is "4000 Huf for the towel if its missing". wow... The dinner is nothing special... everything is friedfriedfried... According the size of the hotel the wellnes is extremly small in the high season and during the winter. And kids are everywhere... and they can do anything because their parents paid for the hotel. Whatever you ask you can feel: this job is not receptionist's dream job and its better if you dont ask anything. Definitely overpriced.
