We arrived here on June 19th, shortly after the travel ban within the Schengen area was lifted. We found the hotel well prepared for the guests by providing hand sanitizer everywhere and ensuring that distance was kept in the restaurant and breakfast room. It's a nice, well kept building. Our room had a sea view through some trees and overlooked the lovely garden. The room size was alright but the bathroom had quite a small shower. We enjoyed the balcony very much because there was always something to watch. On the down side the noise during the day time from the road, particularly on the weekend and the holiday, was sometimes disturbing.
A good breakfast choice was offered in the dining room and we could take it out onto the nice terrace. The restaurant also offered outside seating but the dinner and wine we had was a little disappointing when it came to value for money.
All the staff treated us with kindness and particularly the breakfast crew served us with a smile.
We were not really aware that Portoroz just consists of rows of hotels, restaurants and shops. There is no real beach but grassy strips with lounge chairs and umbrellas but as we are no "beach people" we would have been better off in a place like Piran or even Koper.
It's a perfect place for a vacation in a lounge chair but it's also possible to walk along the sea front to Piran. The area is interesting and easy to explore by car. All in all we had a good week in "The Marko" but we will not return to Portoroz.

We had a great time here. The place is clean and tidy. The breakfast buffet is good, something for everyone. We loved the thing that dogs are allowed, they bring water to the dog first, then it is your turn😊
Beautiful park in front of the hotel.
You can take a 30min walk to the near by Piran.
Definitely worth every penny.

This cozy hotel is always my first choice when I'm in Portorož. The location is brilliant, the park that surrounds the hotel as well. The furniture is old-fashionde style, but I love this chic of a bygone era. The staff is extremely friendly, the food is good. Dinners are served in a beautiful dining room that gives you a sense of importance, and the price of the food is significantly lower than you would expect (I hope they don't go up in price because of this comment :)). Parking is possible in the garage, which is located in such a way that driver requires a little more concentration, but it is possible.

Had a great stay at the hotel. Great location, comfortable rooms with views of the garden and ocean, excellent breakfast, friendly and helpful staff that treated me as a long-time guest... I felt welcome in a way experienced in the very best hotels. For parking, I'd recommend downloading the app which lets you pay for a spot (right in front of the hotel) for a modest fee. The only amenity that I missed was the gym, but this is not surprising in old-fashioned hotels.

This place is perfect! We received excellent service from friendly and approachable staff. Clean and well presented with a great breakfast and many food choices. Located directly across from the water/beach. We were particularly impressed with the two young male staff who were there when we checked in and out. They showed interest in guests and were quite accommodating. Cannot remember their names, but one was working at reception in the afternoon on 12 July when checking in and on 15 July when checking out.

Love it if it costs no more than 150eu per night per room. This is the max.I am willing to pay for a hotel like this one. I love this hotel. It is classy, clean, comfortable. The location is great, everything is perfect, the balcony is amazing. I really hope these hotels stay affordable for a middle class family. Thank you.

The hotel from a distant looks a bit old and non[-chalant, but as you step in it does have a charming boutique hotel feel. The service is great. One of the gentlemen that works at the front desk also works at the restaurant during of one of my breakfasts, his enthusiam and energy to serve just blew my mind. Well done! The room is not super big for a family of four, but we have enough space for 3 beds (1 queen and 2 singles). We were very pleased with all the amenities, service and location of this wonderful boutique hotel.

From the room balcony, sufficiently spacious, you have a nice view of the sea beyond the garden. The place is very well maintained, the service is very professional. We liked very much the greenery around this hotel which is more a big villa than a bulky building. Dinner a la carte on the terrace was very pleasant. The maitre d'hotel gave us very accurate advices both for food and wine. All the staff we met spoke a perfect English and were always helpful. Breakfast buffet is gorgeous and can be taken on the terrace as well. The hotel is pet friendly. Although clean and well maintained, the furniture is a little outdated.

depends what you mean by a bar. there is a small bar by reception but very little seating there and i never saw anyone buy a drink. i suspect it mainly supports the restaurant.
