Yesterday me and my friends we decided to go to Portoroz and we decided to stay for one night in Marko Hotel. Staff was very helphul. Ambient and atmosphere was amazing. We had rooms on a seaside with amazing views on a sea. And absolutely amazing morning view on a sunrise. Thank you to all staff
We arrived here on June 19th, shortly after the travel ban within the Schengen area was lifted. We found the hotel well prepared for the guests by providing hand sanitizer everywhere and ensuring that distance was kept in the restaurant and breakfast room. It's a nice, well kept building. Our room had a sea view through some trees and overlooked the lovely garden. The room size was alright but the bathroom had quite a small shower. We enjoyed the balcony very much because there was always something to watch. On the down side the noise during the day time from the road, particularly on the weekend and the holiday, was sometimes disturbing. A good breakfast choice was offered in the dining room and we could take it out onto the nice terrace. The restaurant also offered outside seating but the dinner and wine we had was a little disappointing when it came to value for money. All the staff treated us with kindness and particularly the breakfast crew served us with a smile. We were not really aware that Portoroz just consists of rows of hotels, restaurants and shops. There is no real beach but grassy strips with lounge chairs and umbrellas but as we are no "beach people" we would have been better off in a place like Piran or even Koper. It's a perfect place for a vacation in a lounge chair but it's also possible to walk along the sea front to Piran. The area is interesting and easy to explore by car. All in all we had a good week in "The Marko" but we will not return to Portoroz.…
We had a great time here. The stuff is very friendly. Dogs are also welcome. Rooms are clean and tidy. The hotel offers a beautiful green park in front of the hotel. Breakfast buffet offers something for everyone. I would recommended to everyone.

We loved the thing that dogs are allowed, they bring water to the dog first, then it is your turn😊 Beautiful park in front of the hotel. You can take a 30min walk to the near by Piran. Definitely worth every penny.
The hotel is situated near the sea. The breakfast is excellent and staff is kind. The room is clean and there is enough parking space. The hotel garden is really nice. Since there is no swimming pool in the hotel you can go into the swimming pool in a near by hotel for a lower price.
We spent two night in this lovely hotel in September. Unfortunately it rained the entire time we were there but we still enjoyed ourselves. It is a classic European hotel. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. They haven't been updated for some time but were in good condition. The hotel is across the street from the beach not that there is a beach. Lots of opportunity to swim off of the seawall.We took the local bus to visit Piran which is about 2 km further down the road. The restaurant, again very traditional, was excellent. Good service, good food and a comfortable classic ambience.
Great hotel, lovely location. Old world style, friendly helpful staff, nice restaurant with delicious seafood served how you might like it. A short bus ride to Piran, good safe garage at the back. Really enjoyed our sea view rion for 2 nights.
Stayed in this location as a quiet base for exploring Trieste and the Rilke trail, both quite easily reachable by car. The hotel is well located with very friendly staff. Rooms are fine and no need to eat out as the dinner menu is good value with fresh ingredients. Breakfast too. Would stay again.
I recommend Hotel Marko! The food is absolutely amazing! Try the fresh fish appetizers and the 'Roshpo' (monkfish) main. It's just delicious! Also, palačinkas (the desert) was sooi good! Must go! We loved the outside terrace, tranquil pkace and the sercice.
we would like to thank to Hotel Marko unfortunately not for Holiday but for really bad experiences...they cancelled our booking in date of our Arrival (Hotel was booked one month ago and again confirmed by phone in the Morning of start date), after our arrival in to Hotel they changed the rule..I still hope, the Hotel is a Name, Brand, which want to have satisfy guest...but the Manager have diferent opiniom, and had not a "power" to speak face to face ( just via reception persons)..so our recomendion is big NO..
