This place is incredible. We were a family of four, and got the top apartment. It had two huge bedrooms, each with their own huge balcony, and a kitchen/living room also with a balcony, and a bathroom. Tere was almost a 360 degree view over the beautiful Adriatic sea, and you could actually look at Croatia from our balcony. The staff was so kind, and even let us check in a couple of hours because we were early. There is a big beautiful garden where you can sit on the benches, lie in the grass, or play some basketball. All while having that beautiful sea view.
The breakfast was only 1,5 hours which was the only down side. It gets rather crowded when everyone eats at roughly the same time, and the last day we actually just skipped breakfast because it was crowded. It was a good breakfast though.
One thing to notice is that the hostel is on the top of a hill, so it's a must to have a car if you wanna go anywhere.
Also we had the beautiful apartment, but the regular hostel rooms are in the basement.
Oh and there was the cutest kitten walking around the site!
And if you go here, you have to visit Piran! It is such a beautiful and intimate little city, with no cars allowed! And there is the best gelateria in the city square!

I will start off my saying this was my favourite place I stayed all holiday (along with Hostel Sonja, Pula). The room and bathroom was clean, lockers were provided (important for a shared room (even though we never had to share our shared room which was awesome)), and we had a fantastic view from our balcony where we watched the moon set (cheesy I know...). The breakfast was a total bonus which was nice to eat outside overlooking Portoroz. Breakfast was also not nearly as basic as some other hostels I stayed in.
My biggest concern prior to booking the hostel was the location. However, it really wasn't much of a problem. You can't expect spectacular views from the top of the hill but then not expect a 15min walk or so to get there! The first night I took a taxi from the Portoroz tourist office to the hostel for 12eu because it was dark and I couldn't be bothered to carry my bags to the hostel (but consider this an investment since the hostel is such good value for money). I then managed to walk to Piran (just in case you didn't know, this is a very nearby coastal town) that same night with no problems, fortunately the roads were street lit and I had a map to use because using the constellations is quite tricky. Walking to Portoroz the following morning was also a breeze and even easier to get to than Piran.
In short: personally I didn't find the location a problem at all, GREAT value for money and the views are awesome

We have been at Hostel Panorama Portoroz with 2 Kids in an appartment with breakfast.
It was very nice and the receptionists were very caring, gave us good advices for beaches and restaurants and were always friendly.
The Hostel has a great view over the city and the sea, especially from the terace where we always had our "panorama breakfast" and a nice garden.
So what could be a better recommendation than the fact that we go there again this summer?
We are already looking forward to this holidays!
Maybe its not the cleanest and most modern, BUT its a Hostel with a good price and for that it's more than just OK - so who cares?

We stayed here for two nights during our road trip in Slovenia last July. The Hostel is located on top of the mountain, but easy to find when you have a GPS. Beware of the steep roads towards the hostel. The guy that took care of everything (from Bosnia) is amazing! He's like an ant, he takes care of it all and really makes you feel at home. One of the girls working there (behind the front desk) is great too. She recommended us a local olive oil farm and our visit to it was just great!
We stayed in the apartment with two rooms and it's all we needed. Big rooms, ok bathroom, good airco. The breakfast is good too, all we needed. Okay it's not like in a hotel, but the had breads, toast, yoghurt, fresh fruits, jam, a ton of teas, coffee, juices, ham, cheese, ... So basically a lot more than you will find in other hostels.
The weather was great so we always ate outside and the view is just amazing. Just make sure you have a car if you plan on going to the sea, because it's a long walk uphill otherwise (we had a car ;) ). They have a wall where you can leave personal messages too, gives it a nice touch!
Would definitely stay here again, best hostel I've ever stayed at! Keep up the great work guys!

This place is amazing! Stayed here with my friend last summer while we were on our interrail trip. The location is absolute perfect. Away from all the noise and people, on top of the hill with an amazing view over portoroz. Also the perfect spot to see the eclipse which was happening when we were there :). Also nice rooms with a kitchen where you can prepare food.
The owners Andrej and his wife are really the best! They were super friendly and helpful. They really made our stay in Portoroz. When we arrived they picked us up downhill because we didn't have a car which was so nice because we had our very heavy backpacks. Also they gave us a lift to the moonbay because we didn't know the direction. And when we were leaving we could drive along with Andrej to Ljubljana because he had to bring the kids to their grandparents. This was already amazing but halfway Andrej came up with this idea to drop us off in Bled and then pick us up later when he would come back from the grandparents and then drop us off at the nearest train station. Because of this we had a super nice afternoon in Bled to swim in the beautiful lake. Thank you so much Andrej for this!!
Sorry for the late review but were so happy that I still wanted to write one.
I wish you and your wife and the kids all the best and good luck with your hostel!

Came here to do a school trip for two weeks. The first thing that takes your breath away is deffinatly the view over the city of Portorose. Bare in mind that you are 150 meters above see so "the view" is gauranteed.
Secondly, the staff are really amazing. Andrej and Katja sure put plenty of work in making you actually feel like as if you were home.
They also do amazing bike trips all year long, so if you are a fan of cycling you should deffo book a tour with their e-bikes. Great food, secret spots and cool guides will make your day.
Will come back someday and I strongly recomend this place to anyone!

Could not fault this place at all, beautiful views of the surrounding coast line, helpful and friendly staff where nothing is to much to ask ... even went the extra mile and helped me plan my route into Croatia which is a massive help considering this is my first time traveling alone, room was clean spacious and well kept. Breakfast was good also self service all you can eat and included in the price so can't go wrong would definitely come back here anyday in a heartbeat thank you hostel panorama!
