Detailed Reviews
We stayed 2 nights at the Hotel Piran. We had a room in the roof with air conditioning. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Otherwise the room was spacious and clean. Because of Corona the breakfast buffet was brought to the table as an optional breakfast. But for the price we hoped for more. The sausage as well as the salmon were warm and not cold. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The shuttle from the hotel to the car outside the city was free and well organized.
The sunbeds on the beach with parasol can be rented for 20€ a day. Towels are free of charge. Also here we expected more quality. They were old plastic couches.
The staff at the Skybar was unfriendly and not helpful. Here, one apparently has to reserve in advance, spontaneously, one can forget it. Therefore we unfortunately did not get the chance to enjoy the great view.
The parking garage costs 10€ per day for guests of the hotel. Even on the day of departure, one has to pay the full amount. But this is not in the hands of the hotel.
In summary, it can be said that we would not book this hotel for the money anymore, as the price-performance ratio is not right.

Dear guests, thank you very much for your stay at our Hotel Piran and for sharing your honest feedback with us. First of all, we are glad to know, that you've recognized the efforts of our team, always eager to go the extra mile for our guests. We are very well aware, how important is the parking situation, so we offer a complimentary shuttle to and from the garage and - as you kindly pointed our - discount for parking, when you pay at the reception desk. Slovenia only has about 47 Kilometers of the beach and we try to help out to our guests with small sunbeds set up, to be more comfortable and we regret, that the quality was not up to your personal preferences. Indeed our rooftop terrace is a very popular spot in Piran, as in any other outlet, reservations are welcome, but not mandatory and we regret that you did not decide to stay and enjoy a drink or two. We thank you for your constructive comments, we are taking them very seriously in order to constantly improve and we hope, that you will manage to visit us again in historical Piran. Best regards, Dagmar Pečovnik Cluster Sales & Marketing Manager

Arrived for a 3 night stay. Very polite and professional staff at the reception desk. The hotel offers free shuttle transport from/to the hotel and a large car garage, located about 800m down the beach (9,5 EUR per day to keep your car there). We got the "Double Room St. George" (you can see all different room types on their website) with a nice view. The room was a bit pricy but very large and clean, although there was some quite noticable dust in one of the exhaust fans in the bathroom. The breakfasts were amazing with everything you could ever wish for, and the dining room has a 180' degrees view of the ocean, just a few meters away from the hotel. Overall a very pleasant experience, the rooms could be just a little bit more affordable, though.

Piran Hotel is located in the magical town of Piran, right on the waterfront of the Adriatic Sea.
The hotel staff is helpful and kind,
The rooms are decorated, some facing the city and some facing the sea.
The maintenance, especially in the bathroom, needs improvement.
The breakfast is excellent, and sitting in front of the sea creates a calm and pleasant atmosphere.
You cannot enter the town itself with a car, and therefore park in one of the parking lots, which are not cheap, at the entrance to the town, and the hotel can be reached by a free city bus or the hotel's shuttle.

We only stayed for one night and chose the hotel primarily for its location right on the seafront. We booked a room with sea view and balcony for which we paid 40 per cent extra. Well there was a sea view but the balcony was so tiny that there was just about room for one chair, so the idea of sitting romantically watching the sunset was not to be. Strike one. It was a very hot day and the room was stifling. When I inquired why the air conditioning was not working I was told it had been turned off. No apology (or discount). I asked for a fan and one was found for which it seemed I was expected to be grateful although I was feeling quite ill by this time.
The room itself was quite pleasant, clean and bright but it seemed as though the furnishing had not been complete. There was a tiny desk, one chair and two bedside shelves apart from the fitted wardrobe. The spacious bathroom was also similarly ill equipped with nowhere to put anything. Teenagers are happy to put toiletries etc on the floor but adults like a surface to put things on.
Finally the wellness centre did not seem to be functioning and again no apology or suggestion where I might be able to find alternative therapy.
The parking arrangement worked quite well but, despite the special arrangement with the hotel, the car park chosen was the most expensive in town.
All in all I was pleased we only stayed one night.

Dear junkuz57, thank you for your visit in our Hotel Piran - as you kindly pointed out, location just next to the Adriatic sea is hard to beat and our guests are enjoying every bit of it, therefore, we are glad to know, that you were able to admire it from the private balcony as well. As Hotel Piran is over 100 years old, we were eager to keep most of its characteristics also during the renovation; since we kept the look of the original facade, we were unable to provide bigger balconies, but as alternative, we offer our restaurant terrace by the sea or in summer months our roof-top terrace, which is offering an unbroken view over the horizon. We thank you for the constructive comments regarding spacing in the room and bathroom; we will definitely keep that in mind and upgrade it at our winter renovation, it is in our best interest, that our guests are feeling comfortable and relaxed while staying with us. Parking in the historic city of Piran is limited, but as you've mentioned, we offer a 50% discount on the parking fee as well as free of charge shuttle for the guests of the hotel. It will be our pleasure if you still decide to visit us when possible and we will do our best to prove to you our commitment and dedication to our work and to our valuable guests. All the best, Dagmar Pečovnik Cluster Sales & Marketing Manager

The hotel is nicely situated directly at the shore in Piran. It looks cute from the outside but everything changes once you enter the hotel. We booked a city view room. This room was small and dark like a dungeon. For one night it would have been okay, however, the bathroom was old and not very well taken care of. I went to reception and complained, asking for a room that was a bit more up-to-date. The rate that was quoted to us when we made the reservation, for one night, was €191. The guy at reception told me at first that he didn’t have any other rooms, only sea view rooms, and that my rate was too low to upgrade me to a sea view room. After a long discussion he gave us the room anyways, highlighting the fact that we would get him into trouble. The new room was basically like the old one, except the bathroom was slightly better. The AC had a bad old smell and the bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable.
The breakfast was cute and tasty even though some of the food items were hidden because of all the decorations in and around the breakfast buffet.
This place could be an amazing place if done right. Unfortunately, the current condition does not warrant the high price. Right now it is an unfriendly, money-grabbing, old and dirty place.

Dear marckaiserberlin, Thank you for trusting us with your stay in our Hotel Piran and for sharing your personal experience with us and other travelers. Definitely, we share the opinion, that the location of Hotel Piran is magnificent and our guests can really enjoy the view of the Adriatic Sea from the first row – breakfast just a few meters away from the water is for sure a highlight of a vacation day. Our whole team is quite young but very dedicated and attention to detail and our guest's well-being is our priority, therefore we really regret, that you've found your experience unfriendly. We've been in contact also just a few hours prior to your arrival and we believe, that through the communication we've shown you, that we are flexible and very solution-oriented. In Hotel Piran we offer eight different room categories, so the guests can choose a perfect room for their preferences and budget and we really regret, that we've missed the opportunity to help you more with the perfect pick for you. Indeed, the hotel is fully occupied in the summer months, so we are happy to hear, that our colleague still managed to change your room and you were able to enjoy the view of the Adriatic sea. We are fully aware, that work in the hotel is never finished, therefore we are constantly renovating and improving – just before this summer season we've managed to update the flooring and adjust it for cleanliness standards, we've changed the bed mattresses for our guest's comfort and open a brand new enoteca with a gift shop. Since we live and breathe hospitality and take our guests comments very seriously, we will be very thankful if as a frequent traveler you would give us another chance with your visit, so we could prove to you, that we are nothing but super eager to ensure a wonderful and memorable experience for our guest. Please, feel free to contact us directly at any time and we will do our best, to create a perfect Piran stay for you. Thank you for your time and effort in order to help us achieve even higher standards in our hospitality and all the best from Piran! Dagmar Pečovnik Cluster Sales & Marketing Manager

I've stayed here for two nights and I was quite happy with my choice of accomondation. I've booked a room without sea view and balcony, yet I was lucky enough to get better room. So that was a nice surpise. The two minueses we the noice for the doors in the hotel and very uncomfortable beds. Otherwise, the room (and the hotel its self) was very clean; the stuff (especially Hairs) was very kind and helpfull. The breakfast was served and it was abundant, you alsou could ask for more if needed. Ever tho they don't have vegan menu for the breakfast, you can ask for plant milk and for adjustment of the food.
Over all, I was happy with my choice, even tho for 160€/night I would excpect comfortable beds and less noice from other rooms at night. But on the otherhand they've gave me better room, so I can't really complain.

Shame we didn’t book another night but hotel Piran was a last minute filler. Hotel has a great location, albeit we didn’t have a sea facing room but didn’t spend much time in room. Breakfast great and we nabed a table outside as were early risers and spent a couple of hours people watching, but were never rushed off the table. Room basic, bed comfortable. Service at reception very good and as we were driving everything explained in detail about parking / using their free transfer to & from the car park. Very well organised. Breakfast service friendly and efficient with dirty dishes being removed promptly. Restaurant manager managed the many requests for an outside table at breakfast very well despite some very demanding guests!

I received a very nice welcome at the front desk. Very friendly and accommodating staff.
Small beachfront hotel since 1913, literally a few meters from the Adriatic Sea. Fairly well-kept considering it is over 110 years old, when bedroom and bathroom designs were much smaller than today’s versions (be prepared for that). Old but adequately furnished.
I had a room on the second floor with a water view. A small balcony with an old-style wrought iron handrail painted white gave a pretty contrast against the blue of the sky and sea. However, I couldn’t use the balcony as many of the other balconies were filled with people smoking. Because of the smoke, I had to keep my doors closed instead of enjoying the freshness of the sea breeze.
Unfortunately located in one of the most visited cities in Istria, parking, biking, and moving around in general is busy and/or difficult. However, nothing is very far in Piran, it is a very compact town with many narrow streets. You can walk this whole place in a day.
Between the restaurant on a first floor terrace below, a seaside walkway and tiny jetty, it’s a popular space for people exercising, swimming or meeting between the hotel and the sea, making it quite noisy.
Spent two nights here. Except for the coffee (machine made), breakfast was one of the best in the three weeks I traveled this area. From smoothies to gluten-free to vegan to anything you can possibly think of. Great that we can sit by the sea while eating on a terrace enclosed with glass walls open to the sea when the weather is nice.
Since there’s only one small elevator, it can get a bit slow or hectic going up/down to your room. I chose the stairs each time to avoid waiting.
Good place to watch sunrise/sunset over the sea, sailboat regatta, people, etc.

This is a bit of a difficult review because on arrival we were allocated room 118 on the first floor which was awful. Small, cramped, low celing, inefficient air-con, inadequate cupboard space, nowhere to put the cases without having to hurdle over them, cheap formica furniture with a big cigarette burn and a pillow that looked like someone had cut their hair on it. It had a balcony overlooking the sea but with no privacy at all. After 20 minutes we went to reception and asked for a change. We were shown room 007 on the ground floor, which was the complete opposite of 118 and that made us feel a whole lot better. This larger, more comfortable room was infinitely more pleasant, and after I'd asked for an extra, softer pillow much more to my liking. The balcony was larger and although at sea level was quite private from people walking along the front and our neighbours.
The breakfast was pretty good and again the coffee from a machine was pretty good - you could pay extra for a "proper" one but I'd recommend trying the machine first. There was the usual choice of breakfast items, eggs, cheese, meats, fish, fruit, pastries etc, but I'd rank it 3rd out of our 3 hotels for breakfast. Lovely location and there was a really nice bar nearby which we frequented.
A big shout out to the hotel staff, especially reception who were extremely helpful, accommodating (especially with the room change) and spoke excellent English. They even dropped us and our cases at the bus station in the hotel shuttle, only 3 or 400 hundred yards but still a toil in the heat.
I'm sure the larger more expensive rooms would justify the 4 star rating, but for us this was 3 stars just like my review score. 10/10 for the staff though.

Spectacular views from the room and lobby as well as the restaurant and rooftop bar, adequate space around the wide king size bed, private balcony where you can sit at a table, fantastic breakfast. Perhaps they could invest in stronger and more stable wi-fi, otherwise it's not lacking. Everything here is as it should be. Oldschool boutique hotel. Excellent service and friendly staff. Everyone we came into contact with at any time during the two weeks was amazing. This is where I realised how much of a big part people's attitude plays. Our labrador Victor appreciated the cool tiled balcony and parquet floor in the room and we appreciated what a great place the Piran Hotel is for a holiday with your dog. There is an ideal spot near the hotel with a shallow area where the dog can go without disturbing the hotel guests while swimming in front of the hotel. Thank you to the staff for a great holiday, next year we will come back with friends. And guests, don't want room 306 in June, we want it left for us, we watched the sunset from it every night.

Hi,
I don't think so there is a spa or sauna in this hotel ...
if I remember well there is a kind of wellness/ massage club, but not sure there is a sauna ...
Yes, there is an elevator as well as a ramp to get from the lobby section to the spa and room section of the hotel.
Everybody, no matter which hotel, has to park their car in the parking garage at the edge of town and then there is a free shuttle that takes you to your hotel. So when you pull up initially, you drop your bags off at the hotel and then they'll direct you to the garage and you park there. The town itself is so small that you can easily walk around it and you only need your car if you're leaving the town.
Hi, You Have Two possibilities, to walk - there is pa path near the coast.
The bus station is about 500 m from the Hotel, but the Hotel shuttle is available for transfer to the Bus station too, and MinniBus from the City center to parking house Fornače drives frequently - on intervals cca 15 min, and passing the Bus station in Piran.
Dear guest,
first of all we would like to thank you for interest in Hotel Piran.
Regarding your request, we would like to inform you, that in that period is the best option private transfer or shared transfer with company GoOpti. If you wish, you can send us your arrival and departure information and an email address and they will gladly prepare you an individual offer.
For additional information we gladly remain at your disposal.
With very best regards from Piran,
Dagmar Pečovnik
