The location of this hotel could not be better. It is right on the water. The center of the village is directly behind the hotel. To the right is a row of restaurants and taverns. The staff is nice. Many families here. But the rooms are in need of a renovation. They are clean but not worthy of a four star hotel.

Hotel Piran has an excellent location right on the waterfront. The very best part of our stay, and in fact the one redeeming experience, was the ability to eat breakfast outside along the seaside promenade. As other reviewers have noted, the breakfast buffet is laid out in a very small area, and it can be a real challenge when too many guests decide to have breakfast at the same time. All in all, the room was overpriced for the time of year (late September) and for the condition of the room itself. We had a sea view, but on a lower floor, so our view was mainly of the Speedo-clad sunbathers immediately outside the window. The room itself was dark and tired. Much of the charming town is a pedestrian-only zone, so the hotel has a convenient shuttle to the Furnace Garage where you must leave your car. There are not many lodging choices in this small town, so I am not surprised that Hotel Piran is #1. However, they should take a hard look at the quality of their accommodations and realign their prices accordingly.

Our stay at Piran Hotel for three nights was very good. Right by the sea and almost in the heart of the old town, it is a very good choice. Breakfast was rich with options for everyone. Apart from the receptionist who on arrival made a very bad impression of asking us for European identities as he probably did not know that Greece was already in the European Union when Slovenia joined, the other staff were always friendly and helpful. Our room was small but reasonably comfortable, unfortunately without the beautiful view of the Adriatic.

We visited Piran because it is there. Our Travel agent recommended Hotel Piran. It is right on the water. We were in a north facing room overlooking the narrow street. South facing rooms have a view of the Gulf of Piran. We visited in late Spring. The weather was warm. The Piran Hotel is the best hotel in the old town. It is well situated with waterfront location. You can use hotel deck chairs and towels if you wish. The hotel restaurant is good, and there are many excellent restaurants within a few minutes walk. Check-in was easy. Parking is in a secure parking station outside the restricted area (free shuttle). Checkout was equally easy and pleasant. The rooms were comfortable.

Dear Gordon C, thank you very much for taking the time and sharing your kind review on TripAdvisor. Some of the best things in life happen unplanned - and we hope that visit of Piran was for you one of them. This small historical city is a true treasure of history, culture and culinary delights and as you've kindly mentioned, we are happy to be located just between the Adriatic sea on one and city centre on the other side. Thank you for your positive remarks, we will do our very best to keep up the good work. Kind regards from still sunny Piran, Dagmar Pečovnik Cluster Sales & Marketing Manager

Hotel Piran was an absolute oasis on our busy trip in Slovenia. We left Ljubljana on Monday morning and visited the Skocjan Caves and Lipica Stud Farm before driving to Piran. As you might imagine, we were a bit exhausted, especially after navigating our way to the hotel on bus. (Seems there was an easier way to do this, but we had thought we needed to leave the car in the garage on the edge of town and bus into the hotel. We could have driven in to drop the bags and check in, and then taken the car, but so be it. Something to look into if you're driving here!) We checked in and immediately changed into swim gear, then walked out the lobby of the hotel and right into the Adriatic Sea. The hotel has a perfect location on the sea with beautiful views and the ability to swim very easily. The room was good and typical of the hotel rooms in this region. A/C was strong and we were able to overlook the sea. Breakfast was a highlight! There was the typical buffet with numerous choices and we were able to sit outside looking at the sea while we ate. I would absolutely return to this location and spend time wandering around this seaside town.
