This review is not about the hotel itself but about a particular lack of service. In pouring rain, I enquired about borrowing an umbrella for a short period. I was advised that this was not possible but they could sell me an umbrella for 15 Euros. This was after there was no assistance to bring in suitcases in the rain from our vehicle. Service should be all encompassing but on this occasion it is a big fail
Rooms in the annex were clean , bright and modern . Bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean and stocked with toiletries. Rooms refurbished. Have to go to the main hotel to check in and then walk across the street and down a short cobbled alley to actually go up into your room in the hotel annex . The room was worth the small walk . Also had to walk back to the main hotel in the morning for breakfast which was not spectacular but certainly adequate . The staff was very friendly and helpful . Hotel right on city center and many restaurants to choose from .
Perfect location near the sights, restaurants and bars. We were in one of the attic apartments. The views were fantastic! It was quiet, the bed comfortable and overall a great stay. I would definitely recommend it!
The location is very central, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, we were able to park our car, staff went out of their way to help and to help us figure out things about places we wanted to go. Really a great place to stay in a beautiful town. Price is mid-range, accommodations are luxury.
Undoubtably the best place to stay in Maribor - the central location and the quality of the accommodation is excellent, as well as a very pleasant bar / restaurant below. The parking, although at a cost of 12 euros per day is also useful. However, I cannot give the place 5*s because as I explained to reception, there is not enough natural light in some of the apartments because of access (or lack of) to blinds. I was on the 5th floor where the architecture is beautifully blended into the roof line. However, I could only reach the opening for one velux blind and the opening for the large expanse over the terrace (which would have given me stunning views over the mountains) were closed the whole time I was there although the weather was good on 2 out of 3 days. Reception said that they are seeking to solve this problem and I hope they do as it spoils an otherwise great place. One other thing to mention, if you have trouble with stairs, check that you are not in an apartment with quirky steps to a mezzanine bed area.…
