Modern and stylish with great staff
A great boutique hotel a stones throw from the river and 2 minutes from the three bridges. Modern and stylish , good sized rooms with excellent double glazing - so very quiet. Staff incredibly helpful. Very good a la carte breakfasts . No parking in the hotel but they recommended Majestik parking which is far far cheaper than the nearest Kongress - but a 10 minute short walk or free ride on one of the electric Kavalir buggies that you phone to collect you. A great base for a short stay.
Dear, we appreciate and thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and we wish to see you again in the future. Best regards, Vander Team

    Luxury in the City Centre
We were lucky enough to stay in this modern boutique hotel for one night during a recent visit to Ljubliana. City centre is pedestrians only, but the hotel has a deal with a local parking garage for reduced rates. Check in was friendly and efficient. Room was excellent, clean and well equipped. Roof top has a plunge pool and decking which gives an amazing view across the rooftops and Castle. Breakfast was to order in the hotel restaurant due to the CV-19 restrictions but was freshly prepared with a friendly service. Many bar, cafes and restaurants directly outside of the hotel, so plenty of choice. We stayed over on a Monday so the hotel bar/restaurant were closed for lunch/dinner, but understand they are highly rated. Check out also efficient and friendly and even met the Australian owner. Highly recommended!
Dear Guest, we are thrilled to hear you enjoyed your stay in our hotel. The hotel is indeed located in the pedestrian area and we have a contract with a local parking garage. What's more, we can also, upon the guest's request, arrange for the city's free electric car service - called Cavaliers - to come pick up the guests at the beginning of the pedestrian zone and take them the rest of the way to the hotel. Our staff pride's themselves in serving our guests to the best of their capabilities, and we are more than glad to hear that it does not go unnoticed. We've forwarded your praise to the staff. We're sorry to hear that you couldn't enjoy the creations of our excellent chefs. We're also proud that our restaurant was rewarded a Michelin plate, and we hope we get to host you again soon, so you may truly enjoy everything we have to offer! Until then, happy and safe travels!

Disappointing...I wanted to love it more!
Sad to say but this hotel did not live up to expectations. It was in a great location & the staff super friendly & helpful. Our room, although tiny, was clean, comfortable & stylish. The same goes for the bathroom which again was tiny but well equipped with a decent “rain shower,” magnifying mirror & lovely fluffy towels. We definitely appreciated the kettle, teapot etc in the bedroom. I have two major negatives with the hotel. 1) The room was TINY, & with two large suitcases, we found it very cramped. The bathroom is also very small, it has one small hook for towels & nowhere to put your wash things & is not particularly private if you are travelling with a friend. 2) The restaurant while looking promising was a huge disappointment. The food that was good was delicious but they let themselves down hugely a couple of times…..I’m gluten free & when I asked if I could replace the fregola (couscous) with potatoes I was told I would have to pay extra. The meal description was chicken portion with fregola, cabbage & bacon & I assumed the cabbage & bacon would be on the plate. NO! It literally was a plate with potatoes & a chicken joint - nothing else! If I hadn’t asked for the potatoes it would have been just a chicken joint I guess! What chef worth his/her salt sends out a plate like that? Where’s the pride? Would they like to be served that? I had to ask for a side of veggies & was told I would also have to pay extra for that! At breakfast I chose scrambled eggs (which were delicious) with a side of market greens as I can’t eat the bread & croissants. What were the greens? A small glass containing a couple of sticks of cucumber & a couple of sticks of carrot. SO disappointed. I'm not sure I would stay again.
Dear, we appreciate and thank you for your feedback. We apologize that you found the room that you have booked was smaller than you expected. Regarding the restuarant services, we apologize that we were unable to cater to your needs better, without having to charge you extra. However, the menus are predetermined and not a lot of reserved food is ordered as a way to avoid food waste. We still are sorry about the inconvenience. We hope to see you again in the future. Best regards, Vander Team

The hotel is centrally located in a pedestrian area. The restaurant was excellent and breakfast was gigantic. It’s not a buffet but you can choose two entrees. Be aware it’s a lot of food. Not a fan of their avocados toasts with too much hummus and pissed off about their crepes. The first day I ordered those that were succulent. The next day and the day after, they brought me pancakes while showing confusion when I the lid them that those were not the same. The staff was very nice and I think that’s about what positive things I have to say about the hotel. The rooms are weird with a bed against the wall on a step but the worst is the bathroom. The walls are made out of glass! So even if you have a very thin curtain that might give you some privacy, don’t expect to have a soundproof bathroom! If you need the bathroom during the night and don’t trip over the steps, you better use the flashlight of your phone or your significant other will be up!

Had a lovely stay, the staff make this place. Such friendly people and nothing is too much trouble for them. Made my mum’s birthday breakfast special after hearing about it. Irena was so lovely with us and Tim a star but they were the ones serving. All were great. The breakfast was tasty and all made freshly. May take some time but no rush when you’re on holiday. Such a fab location! Near to everything, definitely a visit to the castle is worth it.

Incredible hotel stay. We arrived very early in the morning after a difficult night train where we didn’t have seats - the reception staff were so kind and allowed us to use the pool while we waited for our room and gave us towels and toiletries so we could shower after the train! The room was comfortable and trendy, the whole hotel had a very cool vibe! The included breakfast was fantastic and included several options of hot and cold food. The bar was good and the area is very lively at night. The hotel is very central (only 10-15 min walk from the train station). Would absolutely stay here again for the reason that the staff go above and beyond to look after their guests!

A poor welcome got us off to a bad start. I didn't get to finish speaking before the grumpy blunt man on reception told me check in is at 3pm; put your suitcases up there. No offer to help and no receipt ticket. Room 26 was comfortable and had a good view across the river, however, the wi-fi service was erratic and only certain spots in the room gave any connection which was extremely irritating. Breakfast the first morning was very poor, service very slow and although it was only 9.15am there was not enough bread and croisant for two of us. The coffee was nearly all froth and luke warm. The breakfast fiasco continued , day two was even worse, 45 minutes wait for one omelette and a granola, despite asking what was delaying them we got no response, we gave up and went without. Day three and two omelettes ordered, a ham and a cheese when they arrived the ham one was seriously tainted by cheese from the other, obviously cross contamination. We complained and were told there were two unsupervised 18 year old lads in the kitchen cooking breakfast. We met with a deputy manager and politely but firmly complained after which things greatly improved, apologies received and a token gesture of a chocolate cake provided. It was a shame as the hotel is well situated, hopefully the manager will sort matters out quickly.

Great hotel. Great location. Friendly staff. Great room looking out over the river, but the wifi in the room was weak. We were there for four days, and this was a perfect place from which to enjoy our visit.

This claimed 4 star hotel is such at street level. The location is very convenient to all city experiences. The front of house staff and restaurant provisions are excellent. The personnel are helpful, informative and engaging. Unfortunately, this level of excellence is undone by what happens at the upper level. The rooms are tired with superseded provisions (no UBB chargers etc). The bed comprised two mattresses one of which could be described as a hammock. The bed linen is inappropriate. The bathroom shower leaks to the floor and being totally enclosed never airs. Worst of all is the room service which is haphazard and non-existent on some days. Cups are rarely cleaned. One should not have to ask for soap, toilet paper or tea making provisions at a 4 start facility.
