Detailed Reviews
Fantastic staff. From the first email & advice regarding taxi costs from the airport, to check in & check out - excellent. Really helpful, professional & kind. I left my work mobile phone in the room after check out & the wonderful housekeeping staff went out of their way to ensure the reception staff returned it to me (lucky I was still at breakfast) This is so hugely appreciated. Thank you once again for your diligence & honesty. Reception staff booked a taxi with a preferential rate to the airport for me - and had even researched public & shuttle bus options for me. Above & beyond customer service!
The Hotel itself is so cute! Traditional decor & very clean. In a brilliant location. Easy to walk to the riverfront, easy access to shops and restaurants. Excellent location. Good value for money too. Lovely welcome drink provided in their gorgeous lounge looking out at the cobbler street. Delightful.
Would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a home away from home in a brilliant location for a good price. Especially suitable for solo female travellers.
Thank you in particular to Joel & the housekeeping staff.

This is a great little boutique hotel right in the centre of the pedestrianised area of Ljubljana so the location couldn’t be better. We arrived as a group of cyclists for the Maraton Franja race and the staff were all so unbelievably helpful and friendly and happily helped out with all our slightly quirky cycling needs. Such a great team and the hotel was kept very neat and tidy. Would strongly recommend not only visiting Ljubljana and Slovenia but this hotel in particular for a real great experience.

This hotel is very well located in the old town very close to all the wonderful restaurants and just below the castle. Considering how central the hotel was there was very little noise after 23:00. This is an old style boutique hotel lovingly maintained and run by the owners. A welcome drink is available on arrival.
The WIFI worked very well and breakfast was plentiful with very fresh produce and the option for freshly cooked eggs to your chosen style. Hot water for the showers was available all day and rooms were cleaned daily.
The owners treated each guest as though they were family and went out of their way to offer help, advice or just chat.
Just a few little dislikes but overall I loved the hotel and would definitely come back but outside of the peak summer season.
My room had no air conditioning which made the room very hot in July.
The shower, whilst fully functioning was a little dated.
The coffee machine for breakfast is in Slovenian only which made choosing the right coffee difficult for most of the guests unless given instructions.

It is a huge pleasure for me to send this email.
We chose Allegro hotel when planing a trip to Ljubljana for a special family occasion. We loved the deco and the location was perfect. As we were a group of 8 adults traveling we emailed the hotel to request accomodation to suit all 8. The response was so helpful and received prompt correspondence reassuring that we would all be accommodated.
On arrival at the hotel we were welcomed by Thomas who offered us complimentary drinks of our choice while he checked us all 8 into 4 different rooms. It was Thomas first day at the reception but he was efficient and friendly.
Every morning Sara met us at breakfast with a smile and offering a warm breakfast. She was extremely helpful in arranging a stunning birthday cake for us which arrived at the Hotel on the day. It was delicious!! Thank you Sara!
Through out our stay Joel was very helpful in making bookings for us for dinner in lovely restaurants, advice and inform about the city and sites. Nothing was too much for Joel and he made our stay so enjoyable.
Our flights were cancelled for 24 hours and again all 8 of us were accommodated at the hotel without any inconvenience on short notice. The rooms are warm, clean, large and comfortable. We loved the deco and the location but it was all the friendly staff at this hotel who made our stay memorable.

An hotel with real character and charm. Good rooms. Pleasant small courtyard garden. Lovely staff.you feel more like a house guest than an hotel one. Especially as reception is not attended all the time and you get a door key. Breakfast in the cellar to set you up for the day. One downside is that the very necessary air con in the rooms does not work as such. No more than a rather useless fan. They are aware as there have been so many complaints about it. Hopefully that will translate into something actually being done.
You can walk from the hotel to anywhere you are likely to want to go. It is a compact city. Lovely. More than can generally be said for the food in Slovenia. Julia nearby your best bet. Had a rare good meal there. A traditional dish.

I've had the privilege of staying in incredible hotels over the years and my experience at Allegro hotel has been a wonderful one! The ambience is warm and inviting and the rooms are comfortable and cozy. When one travels to a foreign country where there are language barriers, the help provided by the hotel staff, whether it's the front desk or concierge, can make or break the overall experience. I was blown away by the staff at Allegro. The folks at the front desk- Andrei and Zigo, were kind, patient and extremely helpful with our many questions and requests. The owner, Jakub, was very kind to my family, as well. The degree of follow-up and thoughtfulness made our overall experience spectacular! I highly highly recommend this little jewel of a place because the people that work there, truly, make it shine :) I underscore this because I've stayed in world class hotels where the quality of the customer experience and interaction with the hotel staff left a lot to be desired. I know I'll be coming back to Allegro, in the future, and I will be recommending it to my family and friends.

What great hotel!! I have just returned to UK after spending an extended weekend at Allegro. It is in a fantastic location and the staff are so very much welcoming. Indeed, when my flight back to UK was cancelled, the staff were very understanding and helped me throughout the process of securing the room for another night, booking taxis etc and finding things to do for that extra day. A thank you should go to Luka for helping me arrange arrival transport but a special thank you to Joel and Sarah who were great hosts over the weekend. The room was spacious and the breakfast is plentiful. I am usually very critical in my reviews but I really cannot find anything I would improve. Very highly recommended.

We were traveling with our family and had booked the big room, which is the only one on the ground level. The room was excellent and we had direct access to the courtyard where we spent time during the evenings. We would often meet other guest in the courtyard and have nice conversations with them.
The location of this hotel is absolutely perfect! It is very easy to get everywhere but it is still quiet and peaceful. There are plenty of good restaurants and shops nearby, along with parks and tourist attractions.
But the best thing about the place are the people. We met some of the most likeable characters here and had some of the most authentic and meaningful conversations about what Slovenia is all about, what kind of people live in Slovenia and generally what is everyday life like in Slovenia.
The only reason I cannot give full score to this place is the coffee. The coffee machine was very slow and did not provide anything like an americano or something suitable for nordic people. We Finns need our morning coffee!
Me and my family highly recommend this place for anyone who is traveling in Ljubljana or Slovenia!

Tiny room but with a lovely balcony, clean and cozy.
Very lovely staff, helpful and nice.
As I booked directly with them, they provided me helpfull infomation before my arrival. There is a bar, the breakfest is good with many choices, you can feel at home.
The location is perfect, just near everthing, restaurants, shops, the most important places to visit.
I surely would come back!!

Great room (we stayed in the suite just off the courtyard - family of 4), great location, great service. I loved the relaxed feel of the place and the old-fashioned southern European vibe.
The hotel is literally in the heart of the old town - it's perfect for exploring. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good. What's not to like?

I took a minibus from airport to hotel. It is more convenient than a bus and depart frequently (i did not have to wait for the regular bus for two hours on a Saturday morning). Minibus drops you just around the corner from the hotel - there are no cars in Old City, I do not remember exactly, but believe the price is about $10. The drivers are nice and helpful, Highly recommended. Look for minibus as you exit the airport if a driver does not approach you first.
Turn right out of the Allegro Hotel. Don't go into town. The restaurants on the pedestrian area towards the river are always very busy and quality suffers. There are two lovely dining restaurants one specialising in fish and the other regional dishes just up right from the Allegro on either side of the road. Try these.
