Detailed Reviews
I found the hotel pleasant, the room was cozy and big enough for three girls for two nights. The pool is included in the price and although it isn't a big pool, we enjoyed a dip with a view. The location is perfect for every season. The only thing I would complain about is the breakfast, which is also included in the price. For a 4 star hotel, the breakfast is very lackluster with few options and not to the quality you would expect from a 4 star hotel. Overall a good experience.

Just had a fab 10 days at this hotel. A little dated in the decor but more than makes up for this in its friendly staff, excellent food and spacious rooms with ample storage, a fridge, a kettle, excellent shower with toiletries. We had room 227 which had the most wonderful view from the large balcony with patio set on it. We were able to even sit out on it when it rained as the overhanging roof gave adequate protection.
The beds were big and comfortable, there were extra pillows and covers in the wardrobe. The water was safe to drink from the tap and so soft - you get quite a lather in the shower!
Best bit about the hotel for us was the food. We were half board and both meals were buffet style with a huge choice of quality items, honestly you wanted for nothing. Dietary requirements were catered for too, with special gluten free breads and products available on request. The evening meal offered soups, a pasta option, 2 meat options and a fish option to try, plus a huge salad bar, The desserts were incredible - each night there were more than 5 different sorts!
The hotel's location was great for us, just 10min walk to Jasna Lake or a 5min walk to the village, 15min walk across the village to the bus stop where you can take advantage of the excellent local bus services to nearby towns, Bled and Ljubljana. There was also a special tourist bus running along the valley this summer which was useful.

We’ve recently spent the half term week at Hotel Kranjska Gora with friends and had the most wonderful time. The team here really are a different class. The hotel has recently changed ownership and the staff throughout the hotel couldn’t have been more helpful. Everyone was friendly and went out of there way to help and advise, whether it was Ksenija on reception helping with my very limited Slovenian and providing ideas of where to go when the weather wasn’t so great, to Jadran who managed to find excellent local wines every evening at dinner and Nichola who really went the extra mile throughout our stay, helping us with everything from car hire to sampling the local grappa and planning us a trip to Montenegro! The hotel itself is undergoing some renovation, however this is being done in a very subtle way and we weren’t aware of any significant work taking place during our stay. The rooms, bar, restaurant, and food were all excellent and really clean.
We had planned to eat out a few nights, however due to the quality of the food and the service provided by the team we ended up eating at the hotel every night! The location of the hotel is superb, 5 minutes walk into town and around 10 minutes walk to the local lake (which really is beautiful as the sun goes down). Whilst our plan was to ski in Kranjska Gora, the weather was against us (too warm and too wet) however the Gerlitzen Alpe across the boarder in Austria was less than 40 mins drive away and being so much higher had great snow. Kransja Gora itself is a pretty little town, with some fun bars and lovely restaurants and the resort itself is really good value for money, however in truth it was the hotel and the staff that really made our holiday, we’re already searching for flights as we’re sure to return soon 😊

We stayed at this property over the new year period.
Hotel is rated as 4 star.
Despite the BW web site stating there is a bar and cocktail lounge both were closed over new year period - crazy absolutely crazy. We had to make the walk into town just for a quiet drink.
We reported broken shower/bath mixer but never repaired/replaced or even an attempt made to correct.
Restaurant variety and quality is poor. Totally unstaffed resulting in fishes not being replenished, tables awaiting to be cleared and extremely long wait to order and to be delivered drinks.

My husband and I both agree that this holiday was one of the most relaxed, pleasant holidays we have ever had, helped by staying at this hotel. We are well travelled so we can say this with confidence. We had a great experience. The reception staff were exceptionally helpful, professional, friendly and quietly welcoming.
We had a large bedroom with the most fantastic mountain views, fresh air and peace and quiet. The room was very clean with very comfortable beds. We slept very well. The daily room clean was exceptional.
Quite often we have stayed in other hotels where you can smell the drains. Not so here - everything works well to a high standard. There is no rubbish outside the hotel, everything is spotless inside and out.
We found the self service breakfasts and evening meals to be a very high standard with lots of variety and they catered for guests with special diets too. We ate curry and rice, salmon steaks with mixed sauted vegetables, pork, chicken, white fish to name a few.
I booked a thai massage which was very, very good and 10% off for hotel guests.

I usually don't write a reviews but I will use this opportunity to have one.
Jadranko F&B Manager was always one step ahead. A huge smile on the entrance, he also remember what each of us like to drink and was always helpful with a suggestion, he made us feel like home. Our 4 year kid adore this place, and the people there, she also feel safe and welcomed and to me that said a lot.
Maja from reception was always helpful, if you have a problem in hotel, she will do her best to find a best possible solution to it. As the hotel have tennis courts, we try to get our kid a few lessens there. 4 year old kid, not an easy one to participate in a game for an hour. Well Zarja how is a tennis couch made her feel interested in the game that our kid stayed there and would like to play tennis again because of the commitment and knowledge Zarja put on the field.

I had a great stay at this hotel, and the food was wonderful! The breakfast was very hearty, and the cook made me a special sandwich each day for my hikes. Dinner was fabulous, and a very good deal! It was great to have a nice fresh salad, and a variety of options from the buffet. I ate in town the first night, and was sorry I didn't eat here every night. Staff in the kitchen and at the front desk were all very friendly and I couldn't have asked for a better stay. My room looked right out at the river and mountains, and with my window open I could hear the river all night. It's a great location for getting around too!

We stayed in a hotel for two nights. The hotel is a little bit old, but everything is very clean and tidy. The dinner and breafast offer is just the best we had in hotels with similiar pricing. The desserts are actually full of taste and really good. Also the stuff - lady that served us mostly was so kind, she brought a special drink for kids to take away. We have never experince that kind of personal touch in hotels. The swimming pool and other pools are ok, there is also a pool of 45 cm height for small children but there was only thins thing - it was a little bit cold at that time. The receptionist also gave us good advices. Overall we has very good experience.

This hotel is a gem. It is set in a wonderful location in Kranjska Gora, surrounded by mountains with dozens of beautiful walks. The hotel is spotlessly clean, relaxing and comfortable. The food, which is all self service, was excellent with a wide variety of choices. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Special thanks to the restaurant staff, particularly Jardran, Jeanette and Jure.
Our room was cleaned everyday.
Having read some critical reviews it is clear that a huge amount of good work has been implemented to upgrade this hotel over the last year or so.
We would definitely recommend

Strengths- location, free parking, free breakfast, different size pillows, offered a free fan.
Downside- out dated decor, old and leaky shower, room safe not working, no air units, average breakfast set up, we booked with a welcome drink in our price and they said no when we arrived, gym average (no towels or water), spa services unorganized.
I would give this hotel a solid 3 stars.
