Livada was an excellent choice. It is immaculately clean throughout. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is good-just a short stroll to the centre. We preferred a traditional style hotel and got exactly that. Could not have been happier with this hotel Can't wait for the next time..
Had a great week at this gem of a hotel, the family including the staff are very friendly and speak excellent English. We had a mountain facing room with a balcony which held the sun most of the day. The rooms are spacious and very clean, there was enough cupboard space including plenty coat hangers, the bathroom had a nice modern feel to it with a nice shower. The breakfast was superb and plentiful as there was everything to choose from including ham and eggs to order. You are not far from the centre as it’s a short walk in and likewise to the slopes, there is a supermarket across the road and also a free shuttle bus if required to take you to the slopes. I’m so glad we chose this location and especially this hotel. Well done hotel Livada and keep up the good work.
We had a lovely holiday in this friendly hotel. The staff are very welcoming and were extremely helpful. The breakfast was excellent, and provided ample energy for a day of skiing. The hotel has normal rooms, but also apartments. We didn't have the option to choose the apartments when we booked the holiday. This was a pity, as it would have given us access to a kitchen for self catering. On the plus side, the local restaurants are keenly priced with a good variety of both local and more international cuisine (pizza and pasta!). For lunchtime snacks there are well supplied supermarkets in town. The hotel is around 10-15 minutes walk from the ski slopes. This is too far if you are carrying ski equipment unless you are very fit. We didn't know about this, and there was no option to book a ski locker nearer the slopes on the Crystal website. However the hotel manager was very helpful in obtaining a locker for us at a hotel next to the slopes. The ski resort is very picturesque with a nice walk up to a lake. There is also a ski bus which leaves from right outside the hotel, and gets you to the slopes in 10 minutes, or in 20 minutes to nearby Podkoren resort (this can be quieter, and makes a change from sticking to Kransje Gora). However, the easiest slopes are blues - there are no greens. Absolute beginners are taught in a small nursery area at the bottom of a blue. More advanced skiers will love the harder blues, and reds; and there is a good variety of slopes at this level. However for those in between, there is only one or two blue slopes which are easily manageable, so they might be bored by the lack of variety. We went in the February half term; the weather was very sunny and quite warm. The snow was fine until the last day when it became slushy. The resort is not high and last had snowfall in late January so snow cannons were used nightly. Ski hire shop is centrally located and checking gear in/out was straightforward. The ski school was mostly good; out of 4 instructors our family used we were very happy with 3 of them. The other instructor didn't do a good job of teaching in somewhat patchy English. Ski school ran for just 2 hours in the afternoon. This was fine for us, but complete beginners may struggle to make much progress over a week. Night skiing was included in our lift passes and was great fun. Finally be aware that the transfer from Salzburg is quite long (up to 3.5 hours depending on traffic).…
I booked a budget holiday through Crystal Ski and stayed here in one of the mountain view rooms for a week. I had a wonderful experience. STAFF: Incredibly friendly and accommodating. Above and beyond with customer service, which is the main reason for my 5 star review. ROOM: very clean, reasonably modern bathroom, good quality tv with decent selection of channels, free wifi that worked well, has a small digital safe and draw with a lock/key for valuables. B&B: there was a nice little breakfast buffet that we ate every morning. They had a nice selection of foods avaliable; yogurts, bread, toast, ham, cheese, cereal and they also would cook eggs, sausages or bacon on request. ACCESS/LOCATION: there are only stairs in this hotel but there's not many floors. The bus stop is only around the corner but never used it because its 10-15 minutes (depending on your walking pace) to walk to the slopes or town centre. There is also a mini supermarket literally on the other side of the road that is open until 7pm. SNOWBOARD/BOOTS: there's a place to store your equipment downstairs in the basement (it has a back door exit) and you can leave your boots on a rack to dry. I saw some locks to secure your equipment but I didn't use them. Throughout the holiday I would comfortably leave my snowboard unattended in the hotel and at the slopes - no one touched it. Initially, I left my snowboard in the hotel but to save me carrying it every morning I ended up hiring a locker at one of the Intersports by the slopes. It was €23 for 5 days; we easily fit 2 snowboards and helmets in one locker. I would walk in my snowboard boots and leave those in the hotel basement to dry every day though.…
It's hard for anything not to be great, when it is set in the picturesque Julian Alps. Kranjska Gora is my all time favourite place, and we decided to stay here in passing through on a drive across Europe. It was a lovely little hotel, although the rooms were quite dated, it was very clean and had all the necessities. The staff were lovely, and very accommodating and helpful, especially at breakfast. We ate breakfast outside with a view of the surrounding mountains, absolutely amazing morning that was. Will definitely be returning here. If you stay here, explore the surroundings, there are some beautiful place such as lake Jasna and Zelenci.
