We stayed for 2 nights in August. The room was clean and spacious with a nice balcony, which also had nice views. The nights were calm and quiet. The breakfast was very modest with very little variety, there were no fresh vegetables or cheese and not vegeterian friendly. The location was good, close to the city centre.
We came here with Slovenian tourist vouchers and were treated badly from the first moment. There were troubles with reservation, because of the prepayment but we went on with it. When we came here it all went downhill. The staff was rude, the shower couldn’t close completely. The rooms were nice and clean but not worth the money. The breakfast was really a disaster. There was absolutely no choice in food. I get the Corona virus and all, but this was next level. You could get some yogurt, some pastries, cherry tomatoes and cereal. But cereal was prepared in advance and then you just pour milk over it. I personally always put milk first and then mix two different cereals. Here this was not possible. I thought okay, at least there is juice. Well no, it was pineapple, cherry and apple “juice”. Later when we already sat down, the waitress came and said that we can also choose between omelette and “meat plate” - salami. Never would I expect that I would have to choose between these two. So we took one of each. The omelette was quite good, but the salami was the cheapest from the store and I got just two slices of cheese. They also brought us the basket with 5 mini slices of bread. This is definitely not what I expect from 120€ per night. We slept in the same region for half the price and got a better service and waaay better breakfast. At least what they could do is to not be rude to their guests! …
We stayed 2 nights spending the Slovenian tourist vouchers. The room was ok but breakfast quite disappointing. It is served in the basement in a gloomy atmosphere, the self-service options are next to none apart from yoghurt and some sweets, and the "real" breakfast comes served as a choice between two options, one being "narezek", a plate of salami and ham slices, and the second an egg dish such as omelette. The salami and ham were of poorest supermarket quality, and the guest should better not deviate from what is on offer. "Could I get a boiled egg?" "A fried egg?" "Some cheese?" "Some vegetables, such as tomato or cucumber?" Nope, the cook did not prepare this. Likewise, all beverages come from two machines, one for so-called juices (not!) and one for coffee-like things. For 130 € per room/night, Hotel Mangart really should try harder.…
This was a nice hotel, with good service. Everything was clean and well kept. To step out on the balcony in the morning, and see the fog slowly lifting, revealing the mountains behind it. The insight restaurant was good and had a nice selection for breakfast.
We stayed here during one of Europe's 2019 heatwaves when the temperature was around 35. We did not think that a hotel in the Julian Alps would have air conditioning, so we expected an uncomfortable night. To our surprise the rooms did have AC and we all slept well. The Hotel is located on the edge of Bovec with pastures and clear views of the mountains around it. It is a 5-10 minute walk to the restaurants and shops in Bovec, but there is a small market just across the street. The rooms were comfortable and clean. There was also a patio/porch (depending on your floor) for each room to enjoy the view. The breakfast was just okay.
The rooms are very basic, but clean. The bed is very uncomfortable with overly soft matress that do not fit the bed frame. Breakfast is served in a dark unpleasant basement and the offer is very poor with absolutely no fresh vegetables being offered. The a la carte restaurant is of a similar low quality as the breakfast. You're better to drive to a nearby town of Kobarid if you'd like to have a nice dinner, since the options around the Mangart hotel in Bovec are not that much better than hotel's own restaurant. The staff is nice and friendly though. All in all - you do not that get here what you payed for.
Great hotel, very clean, good food, wonderful nature, friendly stuff. On the edge of Bovec, five minutes walk to city center, which is worth to see. Soča river is just few minutes away and it is awesome.
The hotel has no charm at all. It sits along a road. But it's clean and the room are pretty large with a balcony. There's a nice small pool. Plus it's a good base for going practicing all outdoor sports in the area
Our family (parents, kids ages 11 and 9) loved our stay here. Family rooms are spacious and good sized bathroom. Clean as a whistle and room serviced well every day. Breakfast was vast and fresh. Really good service. The ‘pool’ is fresh water and natural and filtered. It’s not big but to be honest I’m not sure there’s another hotel in Bovec with a pool. It just doesn’t seem to be a ‘thing’ in Slovenia to provide a pool. We loved the pool as it was so hot on our visit and it was a welcome refreshment. The only thing, for us, that let this hotel down was the evening meal. As with all restaurants in this area they are lacking staff and the food is ok but not great. We ate in town but in the peak months of July and August you must book a table in any restaurant otherwise you won’t get in. Just a 10 minute walk in to town from hotel Mangart. It’s a sweet little town and we used the supermarket for picnic lunches most days.…
Our bedroom was very large with a fabulous huge comfortable bed, of a good standard as you would expect from being fairly new. Bathroom was big enough with a good shower and a lot of toiletries. Everything is immaculately clean. At breakfast there was a good selection to choose from. Great location to visit Bovec and the Soča valley. Is easy to find and is blessed with a big car park. The staff were kind and helpful, and we really enjoyed our short stay and would love to come back.
