This is my 20 plus time at Hotel Gasperin over many years missing only with pandemic. This was a rather bitter sweet trip as my wife of fifty eight years sadly died in November last year from Parkinson’s and Dementia. Her lovely Sister came with me for the first week and we arranged bench and scattered some of her in Alpine Meadow. It was her Oasis. The wonderful support of Peter and Kellie over the years as been monumental. I have seen the building grow but standards are exemplary. I cherish their friendship.

I wanted to explore some of Slovenia before moving on to a conference for work, and I feel like I couldn't have picked a better place. The hotel is very conveniently located: easy to reach by bus and/or car and very close (a 5 min walk) to Lake Bohinj and all the attractions that the environment has to offer. I stayed 3 nights and made trips to Mostnica, Stara Fuzina and Vogel, and all were very easy to reach. The room was very clean and spatious, with a big balcony with a lovely view on the mountains. It is a family-run hotel and the staff are very hard-working and friendly, they clearly want to make their guests feel welcome and have good tips about the environment. Breakfast was amazing, again in a hall with an amazing view and with lots of options, including fresh products from the land, vegetarian/vegan options and also the possibility of freshly baked/cooked eggs. There are enough restaurant options within walking distance. All in all I had a very relaxed stay at Gasperin Bohinj. The only thing maybe is that curtains do not fully close off light, but I brought my sleeping mask and then that was no problem at all. Also because of the wooden structure of the hotel, it is not fully soundproof, so I can imagine that if you have a noisy family next to you that may give problems, but in my case all was really quiet, and most I could hear was the soothing sound of birds and crickets! I would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to come back sometime.

We stayed at Hotel Gasperin for 4 nights during a 12 night trip around Slovenia. The owners are really friendly and make you feel very comfortable.
The hotel itself is spotlessly clean, really could not fault the cleanliness.
Breakfast is great - lots of choice and the option of fried or scrambled eggs each morning was nice. During the day there is access to hot drinks, cold drinks and snacks - this works on an honesty basis, the prices are really reasonable.
The hotel is less than a 10 min walk to Lake Bohinj, there is so much information available in the hotel for hiking, cycling and other local activities so you'll always find something to do!!

Our family of 4 stayed for 7 days here over the summer and loved every moment of it. The staff were all friendly, the room was spacious with a separate room for the children and a balcony offering mountain views. The room also had a fridge which proved very useful in the heat, to keep drinks cool.
The best part though was the breakfast. Despite staying 7 days, every single day there was something new at breakfast - different pastries, salads or cheese. It was so refreshing not to have to eat the same thing every day. Also a wide selection of gluten free or vegetarian options.
The host also told us about the Bohinj card as soon as we arrived which gave us free transport and hugely discounted attractions. As we'd arrived by public transport, this only cost us €30 for 10 days for the 4 of us so was a complete bargain !

This is a great hotel very close to Lake Bohinj. My family (myself, wife and two daughters, ages 13 and 9) stayed here for a ski weekend and loved it. The family room we stayed in (room 52) had a great layout with a large bed in one section and then two twin beds in a separate section of the room, and a nice sitting area by the TV. The hotel is very close (maybe 5 minutes walk) to the lake, with several good restaurants in between (and more in the next village over). It was about a 10 minute drive to Vogel ski resort (and the hotel has a warm garage for drying wet clothes and equipment). Every person working at the hotel was exceedingly friendly and nice. And breakfast was absolutely amazing for a hotel of this size--so much variety of sweet and savory items and options for vegetarians, vegan, gluten-free, etc. Can't say enough good things about the Hotel Gasperin Bohinj (and Slovenia in general); we hope to be able to stay here again!

We had the chance to stay in this lovely hotel during our summer vacations.
The host family was friendly and very kind, the room was always very clean and the breakfast was great with a wilde choice of products.
The hotel is located just a short walk from lake Bohinj and for sure we made the best choice staying here for our holiday.

This hotel had a cold, unfriendly vibe throughout, especially compared to the hospitality I felt at other establishments around Slovenia. When I made the booking, I received a rather brusque email stating all the rules and regulations and things that were not possible. Arrival welcome was polite, but cold, we were told to scan QR codes for most travel advice. There were signs around threatening an 8 EUR charge for taking out any breakfast items, charges for coffee and tea during the day, etc. The worst part was the checkout. We traveled by bus and left our bags for the morning. We came back to pick them up and catch the bus, and were told there were no restroom facilities available outside the guest rooms. So we faced a two hour bus ride with no possibility to use a bathroom and wash up before the travel. When I asked repeatedly if we could just use a toilet, the 'host' simply left the room. I was stunned, especially after paying 200 Euros a night to stay in this establishment. I also find it ironic that this hotel claims to be so 'eco-friendly', yet refuses to accommodate the needs of its guests who choose not to travel by car. Go down the road and find a friendlier hotel or apartment closer to the lake if you can!

We are sorry to hear about your disappointing experience at our hotel. We strive to provide a welcoming and comfortable environment for all our guests, and it's disheartening to learn that we fell short of your expectations. Regarding the issues you mentioned, we understand the importance of clear communication. Our aim is to ensure that guests are informed about our policies and amenities in advance. The restrooms were undergoing maintenance, and we regret any inconvenience this may have caused.

A very well located hotel with very spacious rooms.

Their nsincere and caring staff really go the extra mile to accomodate you and provide hospitality.

We very much appreciated their advice regarding local walks and activities as well as lending us a charger when we lost ours.

It included a very well thought out breakfast each morning which was very much appreciated.

Overall, recommended if you're staying in the area.

Hotel in walking distance from lake Bohinj. Good price/quality balance. The owners were very friendly and pointed out the different things to do on a map. The breakfast was very extensive. The rooms were clean. Guests were expected to leave the hiking boots outside of the rooms.

Excellent customer service, the staff were so helpful. Nice breakfast each day. We had a large family room with 4 separate beds split between 2 rooms. The size was great and it was made up each day. We used the complimentary ski bus to access the Vogel Ski Center as well as visiting the area.
