Garni Hotel Berc is an excellent base for visiting Bled and the surrounding area. The accommodation is spotless. Our room was spacious with a wonderful balcony where we sat most evenings sipping wine from the hotel's honesty bar while we watched the sun set behind the mountains and then were able to gaze at the night sky which was unspoilt by light pollution.
We slept really well here. The beds are really comfortable. The hotel is in a quiet area a short walk from the bars and restaurants around the lake. So you are away from any noise.
The breakfasts are amazing with friendly waitresses continually replenishing the supply of fresh bread, cold plates, and hot food. Just what you need to set you up for the day.
We were also able to do some great long hikes in several directions without having to use the car. Lake Bled is a five-minute walk downhill along a footpath if you want to have a gentle walk around the lake. There is a 6km route round the lake which takes about an hour and a half.
We were welcomed at Garni Hotel Berc by the amazing Luka who went out of his way to make our 10-day stay perfect. Luka gave us such brilliant advice and tips for walks from the front door. Having such a warm, friendly, and helpful host really made our holiday special. Thanks Luka.
Walking highlights include visiting Koca Na Talezu, a mountain hut with fantastic views over Bled. They serve beer, wine, soft drinks and food. Getting to the hut involves a steep section towards the end. It's about a 14km round trip from the door of Garni Hotel Berc. Ask Luka for directions; he will be only too happy to help.
Then there is the rustic farmhouse charm of Monika Poklukar in a small village also accessible via footpaths from the front door of the hotel. There you can sample homemade beer and locally produced cheese. Amazing.
And if you want a short walk really close to the hotel you can climb a small hill called Straza. From the front door at Garni Hotel Berc turn left then follow the lane until it becomes a track. There you will find footpaths up to the top offering great views of Lake Bled. There is also a chairlift (which wasn't open when we were there) which also takes you to the top where there is the option of taking a toboggan all the way down to the bottom.
And Garni Hotel Berc is at the centre of all this. Ideally positioned for a perfect holiday. Recommended.

The Garni Hotel Berc is Bled is a great place to stay when visiting Lake Bled. It's in a good, quiet location with on-site parking. The room and bathroom were spacious and very clean. The owner and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful with recommendations on things to see/do and restaurants with good food. Breakfast was an outstanding European style breakfast with meats, cheeses, pastries, cereals, eggs, coffee, tea, etc. The hotel also offers laundry services which was outstanding. Our clothes were returned to our room hung up or folded and we were surprised to find out that the owner of the property did our laundry.
It was delightful to stay at this property and I highly recommend staying here if you are the Lake Bled area.

This charming, folkloric hotel is clean & neat, & sits in a quiet location a short stroll from the shore of romantic Lake Bled, restaurants and the town’s amenities. The rooms are spacious -some with balconies and window boxes full of flowers, and there is a sunny, cosy breakfast room with all kinds or delicious choices, overlooking a garden. (included in the stay, I think.) What will forever stand out to us is the helpfulness and kindness of the proprietor, Luka. He went overboard to help us with reservations, directions to the things we wanted to do and see -which really helped us make the most of our trip here… And finally- helping us mail items that we couldn’t carry. It’s a long saga, but this involved unbelievable assistance & care long after our stay. This is really like staying with friends, and stands out in all our European travels. We will always want to lay our heads here when we return!

We booked with Luka, and the process was seamless. I learnt Luka and his family have run their family business for decades, and the seamless process from our experience in Garni only proves their family's business legacy in excellence. I travelled with my husband and we very much appreciated the immediately warm and cozy family environment and its perfect and "strictly" Slovenian cuisine and hospitality. "Strictly" in a sense that all products are locally and carefully sourced. This thoughtful approach definitely shines in their daily breakfast, staff and our overall stay. Because of their care for their process and work, we'd rate the service quality at par with any Four Seasons or the Ritz! Our luck also shone in the experience and view we saw while on the Ojstrica trail viewing the island!

What a little gem! Just half an hour’s taxi ride from Ljubljana airport. The hotel is a very pleasant alpine styled building. The rooms were clean and tidy with plenty of space (ours was on the front first floor, almost the size of 2 rooms) The ‘buffet’ breakfast has plenty on offer from cereals and fresh fruit to cold meats and cheese. You can get a hot drink 24/7 free of charge from the dining room. There are also alcoholic drinks available at a reasonable price (there’s an ‘honesty’ system in place, where you write down what you’ve had and settle up later) The town is a 5 min walk away with plenty of restaurants to choose from. The ‘Lake’ is also 5 mins away. There are bikes available, and as Luka says “don’t ask, just take” Luka (the owner) is great, a hive of information and is always ‘up for a chat’ If I had to be critical about anything… the WiFi was a little slow (could be just down to the amount of people using it) otherwise a faultless stay. We were here for 7 nights and loved every minute. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Perfectly situated small hotel near the center of Bled, this property is nicely appointed with regional decor and wood elements that make you feel you’re in a mountain lodge. Rooms are large and well furnished. No coffee or refrigerator in rooms, but breakfasts are plentiful and delicious. Very friendly front desk staff.

I had a wonderful stay at this family run hotel. The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a wide spread of options to choose from - including fresh croissants! The rooms were charming and very clean. It wasn’t on the lake itself so it was quieter which was much appreciated. Overall I would stay here again

I cannot express enough my disappointment with this hotel. I had contacted and paid for a reservation in March with this hotel. I did not receive any confirmation of this reservation after this or notice that my payment was received. I later contacted Hotel Berc, thinking that this was the American name for this hotel, telling them that I needed to cancel due to developing Covid and complications that arose secondary to this. Hotel Berc acknowledged receiving this email, so I assumed that this reservation was cancelled. I ended up being charged 250.00 for my reservation at Penzion Berc even after I explained the mix up to both hotels as they are owned separately by two brothers. Considering my age, confusion, and illness I had hoped that I would be shown some grace. Instead, I was told that this was the policy, and my bill would remain. I cannot recommend anyone staying here.

At your reservation we also did not take any deposit, so we could not charge you. Your fault was that you booked another room next door in Penzion Berc which is NOT managed the same ,yes it is charge of my brother but this got nothing to do with Garni hotel BERC.It is different business. We discussed about this situation per e-mail and all the further discusion you should do with Penzion Berc. They have their own cancelation politic and conditions, Its got nothing to do with us. We spent a few days here in August, we had a great time. The place is in an excellent position, 5 minutes walk you are in the center and on the lake, but at the same time the area is very quiet, very quiet in the evening.
