I must say that I am a frequent travellers and Garni Hotel Berc was one of my favourite . Super clean, Luka and family are very well organised and running the hotel perfectly well. Breakfast is excellent with a good choice. All rooms with a nice balcony and a lovely country view.. Luka was kind enough to give us a lift to the bus stop on our departure.. Well done cannot praise you enough and I fully recommend to others. Do not miss it.
What a little gem! Just half an hour’s taxi ride from Ljubljana airport. The hotel is a very pleasant alpine styled building. The rooms were clean and tidy with plenty of space (ours was on the front first floor, almost the size of 2 rooms) The ‘buffet’ breakfast has plenty on offer from cereals and fresh fruit to cold meats and cheese. You can get a hot drink 24/7 free of charge from the dining room. There are also alcoholic drinks available at a reasonable price (there’s an ‘honesty’ system in place, where you write down what you’ve had and settle up later) The town is a 5 min walk away with plenty of restaurants to choose from. The ‘Lake’ is also 5 mins away. There are bikes available, and as Luka says “don’t ask, just take” Luka (the owner) is great, a hive of information and is always ‘up for a chat’ If I had to be critical about anything… the WiFi was a little slow (could be just down to the amount of people using it) otherwise a faultless stay. We were here for 7 nights and loved every minute. I would definitely recommend staying here.…
This charming hotel made our experience in Bled even more memorable! On booking this hotel I emailed Luka with some questions I had and he immediately answered back. On arrival, Luka welcomed us and gave us a map of Lake Bled. He told us we can use the bikes at any time and free of charge. The buffet breakfast was fresh and abundant. We had a balcony room that was spacious and clean. If you are looking for a quiet stay surrounded by nature, look no further this is the hotel to stay in. I will definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends! Thank you Luka for making our stay in Lake Bled a pleasant one and a holiday we never forget!
We stayed at the Garni Hotel Berc for 4 nights at the end of July/start of August. Initially we had considered spending 3 nights here and 1 night in the capital, but very glad we decided to opt for 4 nights here. The airport is an easy 30min drive away, and you can also be parked up and exploring the centre of Ljubljana in under an hour - we went for a day trip which worked well. We also used it as a base to explore all around Lake Bled by foot, and to drive out to Lake Bohinj where we also visited the Savica waterfall and took the cable car up the Vogel for stunning views of the mountains. The hotel is simple in style but friendly and comfortable, and in a lovely peaceful location just 5 mins walk from the waterfront. We opted for a room with a balcony and this had 2 chairs and a little table and was a pleasant spot to return to after a day exploring. The hotel and neighbouring buildings have colourful geraniums in all their window boxes which make the alpine chalet style accommodation really attractive. Our room itself had twin beds pushed together, so separate bedding, and it was actually quite nice not to be fighting for the duvet - not that we needed much as it was very hot whilst we were staying. Thankfully the room had good aircon, and we also left the balcony door open on a couple of nights to enjoy the cooler evening air - though the one downside was that smoking is still very popular out there and we had smoke wafting into our room and waking us up at 0715 on a couple of mornings, either from guests on another balcony or from someone smoking outside the back door below, not sure. We had a big modern ensuite, with large walk in shower with good pressure and hot water. In the room itself there are glasses and a good sized fridge which you can stock yourself, so you can organise your own cold drinks, but no kettle. However there are facilities by the breakfast room on the lowest floor to make your own complementary hot drinks 24/7 which is great, and also an honesty bar for beers, wine and soft drinks, where you note down what you've taken and this gets added to your bill at the end - lovely touch. Breakfast itself was very good - a selection of cold meats, cheeses and salad, plus a hot cabinet with scrambled eggs, sausages and a veg dish, then various fruit, cereals breads, pastries and cakes. The pain au chocolat were particularly lovely! We walked each evening to various local restaurants, and had excellent food - Ostarija Peglez'n in the centre of Bled was one example, Steakhouse Berc opposite the hotel is also lovely but more expensive. We also really enjoyed Restaurant Sova, a longer leg stretch further around the lake towards where the boats go to the island. And the Bled cream cake is a must for a break or a dessert at least once during your visit! This hotel represents very good value, and we would love to return again to explore more of Slovenia. We were really impressed with our whole experience.…
Just returned from a fabulous week at this wonderful hotel. Luka and his family are the most perfect hosts. The location is idyllic in such a peaceful spot but close to everything Lake Bled has to offer. Slovenia is now on my list of favourite countries to visit.
Great location, Lake Bled 2min walk away. Hotel was very clean and comfortable with very friendly hosts. Luka always happy to give you advice on places to visit and how to get there. Sonia couldn't do anymore for you during breakfast which was great. My only complaint, I was only there a week :)
Arrived by car, little hidden away. Quaint hotel, beware, no elevator. Lovely breakfast included with room. Easy walk into town, slightly uphill on the way back. Air conditioning. Old fashioned keys. Helpful staff.
We had a wonderful overnight in this lovely hotel. We arrived early and with much surprise we were able to check in and our room was ready. Great location, friendly staff and a nice breakfast. Our room was very clean, facilities were beautiful and very walkable from its location.
Firstly, these people were honestly the nicest, from the minute we stepped in the door they were more than welcoming. We were early arriving and they had absolutely no problem looking after our bags for the day until we were able to check in! The over all aesthetic of the hotel gives very much authentic Slovenian vibes, so warm and inviting! They also have bicycles that you can borrow with helmets and locks also available, FOR FREE! I had to iron a skirt for dinner and the very nice lady was more than happy to oblige! We would highly recommend staying in this home away from home !
We stayed at this beautifully designed chalet type hotel. The staff was friendly and informative. The rooms were quite ample, clean and comfortable. We stayed 4 nights and looked forward to their delicious breakfast every morning. All the comforts of home. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Bled. East walk to most anything in Bled.
