Villa Bled is a beautiful building located on the slopes of a hill with a beautiful view of the lake. The villa is a luxury of that time (and even today) and has remained decorated as it once was which is beautiful. The villa was once used by Yugoslav President Tito and most of the furniture is from that time, which gives the villa an advantage. We drank only drinks on the lovely terrace and compliments the staff on the kindness.

Nestled on the shores of shimmering Lake Bled this Is the grand dame of Slovenia’s stately hospitality - having hosted everyone from the likes of Tito and Nikita Khrushchev to Indira Gandhi! Staying here feels like stepping back in time. Grand hallways, Stone terraces, Period furniture evoking memories of socialist era Yugoslavia, and elegant decor overall. The sounds of the bells from the Baroque church on the island in the lake’s centre and the backdrop of the castle perched on the mountain opposite. A perfect setting whether you are sitting with a coffee to write your book, or unwillingly dialling into that boring Tuesday morning metric meeting! LOCATION: Located right on the banks of Lake Bled with easy access to all key points of interest DINE + DRINK: Lovely REstaurant with a huge terrace offering stunning views of the Lake. A great place to dine. But the spread of food during breakfast was quite mediocre. ROOM: We stayed in 107, which was a lovely SUITE room, so this review is based on that; VIEW: Million dollar views of the stunning lake from the Terrace ; SIZE: Very spacious suite, with a HUGE living area, massive bedroom. But the highlight was the humongous Terrace that was bigger than the entire suite where we could have hosted a private party, especially given the stunning views it came with!; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand in shower; TOILETRIES: Decent cosmetics by a local brand FACILITIES: Communist era old-world room with machines that were probably older than most employees of the hotel! Dont even bother going down there except to take some vintage pictures! SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all our needs with a smile and made us feel at home and well taken care of. HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free high-speed Wi-Fi that works well all over the property. Big Plasma TV screen dishing out dozens of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies and a wide variety of entertainment in multiple languages

There is no better location in Lake Bled than this historic hotel that sits beautifully apart from the others and with easily the best views of the lake and island. The terrace pavilion is wonderful with uninterrupted views to the lake and so peaceful as it is in the hotel’s private gardens. Free boat and bike hire is a bonus to enjoy the lake and reception staff are very good. I had a suite which was enormous and very comfortable-perhaps the only thing that stops this review being 5 stars is that the rooms are dated and in need of a revamp.

This hotel is not for everybody. If you like hightech stuff, modern design, pool, gym this is not for you.But if you enjoy a classical style hotel with a touch of history- this has been Tito’s summer retreat, the best view in Bled then look no further. Rooms are very big, with living room and bedroom, breakfast is good, free parking, free boat ride, and the chance to swim in the cristal clear waters of the lake on a private “ beach”. You can rent bikes- it takes 1 hour to make a complete tour of the lake.

Stayed here for a few days recently and was generally pleased with the experience, although I'll note that what you are paying for is mostly the location and the historic character of the building (used to be Tito's vacation home, and before that was a holiday home for the Hapsburgs). The location is, yes, Lake Bled, but also very specifically the quieter end of the lake; the hotel has fairly large grounds and is not near any other hotels, so it's a more peaceful spot than the eastern end of the lake. It also offers access to a private "beach" (it's a dock - very little of the lake's shoreline is made up of sandy areas, mostly its grass or shrubbery) and free use of rowboats. The room itself was on the more basic side, although the one I booked did have a view of the lake and a balcony area. Bed was decently comfortable, bathroom was a bit dated but there was nothing wrong with it. No air conditioning but the excellent ceiling fan meant it wasn't necessary, anyway. Rooms seem decently insulated from sound, as I didn't notice any noise from other rooms. The room has a kettle and tea available. We did not spend much time in the room, since we were there to swim in the lake, but I found it a comfortable space for the time we did spend in it. The private swimming area for the hotel was good although I wonder if its large enough - there was plenty of space each day I went, but the pandemic is still restricting travel to a large extent, so the hotel wasn't very full. The dock features chairs, huge umbrellas, a towel service, a drink service, changing rooms, and toilets. In addition to the dock, there's a section marked off with buoys for use by hotel guests; a lifeguard on duty is responsible for keeping people swimming in this area safe. Lifeguard also handles drink orders for guests at the dock. Adjacent to the swimming area is the boathouse for the hotel. Breakfast at the hotel was pretty good. The breakfast is a buffet, but you can also order eggs fresh from one of the waitstaff on hand (options were sunny-side up, scrambled, or an omelette - better bring a big appetite if you order scrambled, the plate they served me easily involved five eggs). Lots of outdoor seating; indoor is available, too, but I did not see anyone making use of it. The dining area overlooks the lake. Had a great stay and am planning to make a return trip. Having said that, it is one of the pricier options in the area... but is also probably a lot quieter than places like the Park Hotel given its location.
