BEWARE!!! Nice looking hotel but horrible management and customer service. A bunch of cheats. We had a terrible experience here and management made “legal” threats to have me remove my negative reviews. Wow!!!! Who does that?!?! Don’t be fooled by all the models in their photographs pretending to be happy guests…they overcharged us, didn’t not give us what we paid for and still owe me a refund to this day which they refuse to give. Be careful! So many better hotels to stay at in this area. Mateja Kodermac was useless when escalating our concerns.
Some parts of this hotel are excellent and other parts are not. My view is that the hotel needs to sort out what it’s target market is - the video’s playing in the reception area all show young people enjoying the facilities and there is dance music (a DJ Saturday and Sunday morning) playing at breakfast and during the evening meals. Reception - when we arrived there were two on reception and there was no offer to help with bags. We had to ask for the Julian Alps card (available to guests staying more than 3 nights and offers some good discounts) later that evening when we realised one wasn’t in the room. When we left (checkout 11.00am, not being collected until 6pm) we asked if we could leave our bags in the left luggage store - they were just left next to the reception desk - didn’t feel very secure. Room - we were in room 317. Lovely big room (given there were two doors onto the balcony, it looked like they had knocked two rooms into one). You could see the lake - just through the park (the park is pleasant). Better views would be available to those with lake view rooms with slightly lower 300 numbers and for those on the fourth floor. Our room had a mini bar - prices seemed a little steep - €16 for a small bottle of wine. Breakfast - Excellent range of foods. Staff all very helpful. Saturday and Sunday morning the breakfast goes on to 12. There is a DJ playing (not too loudly); the local reptile house brings in a couple of ‘pets’. We saw a small dragon (Australian), a tortoise and two snakes (having picked up the courage to stroke one, I then held it - beautiful creature). Dinners - we were on half board. There is an al carte menu with a range of starters (hot, cold and soups), but it only includes four main courses which is a little limiting when you are there for 10 nights. Therefore for those on half board they tend to offer an alternative to the al carte menu - a couple of starters and then one meat and one fish main dish with a set pudding. We tried to mix the al carte menu with this but that didn’t work (it may be that something got lost in translation). Wine seemed reasonably expensive with the cheapest bottle being €30. Good range of wines by the glass though. The slight issue is the lack of atmosphere - most individuals seemed to eat elsewhere, so one night it seemed there was only us and another couple in. (The hotel seems to attract a number of sports clubs for pre season training - three football clubs were mentioned and the oilers were there whilst we were staying, so they all have buffet meals elsewhere in the hotel. Also they have some tour groups which seem to stay one night who presumably must eat elsewhere). When we did get an after dinner drink we found the music and lights were turned off at 10pm. (The lights our balcony also seem to be centrally controlled - coming on around 8pm and going off at 10pm). Leisure facilities - a small indoor pool, steam room and sauna with an outside jacuzzi. Towels are available at the pool area. If they could sort reception out, make the music more relevant for those staying at the hotel and think about the dinner menu situation for those staying more than a couple of nights I would have increased my star rating.…
We visited as a young family kids ages 3&5, this feels like a more single couples or girlfriends getaway hotels. They don’t really cater to families. With that being said, the hotel is super location the lake, not too close and too far. The room we had was standard room, quiet small, but new refurbish and clean. The breakfast was ok standard. Reception desk was very helpful. Recommend for the location and the cleanliness.
The best hotel in Slovenia. And we have been in many. The staff is extremely polite, professional and helpful. The hotel is clean and fresh. The room was spacious enough and it had a balcony overlooking a garden and a bit of lake. The spa, pool, and jacuzzi are fantastic. We had the whole jacuzzy and pool for outselves for hours. The breakfast is awesome. On weekends, there is a choice of brunch or breakfast that exceeds a usual 4-star hotel offer. And a snake and turtle exhibition, which our kids loved. The snake and the turtle are both friendly and the young lady has a wealth of knowledge about animals. I would give more than 5 stars if I could.
The hotel is new and modern, in an excellent location, overlooking the lake. The room was small but the bed was extraordinarily comfortable. The bathroom is also very small and there is a problem of half-protected shower cabin from which water simply must go out. The wellness center could benefit from more resting space, and steam sauna should be fixed - the floor is scorching hot, but the temperature in the room is barely lukewarm. At breakfast there was quite a spectacular choice of food. The only thing missing are freshly squeezed juices. All in all nice and comfy. The quite low rate I’m giving is due to the unpleasant surprise in form of a SNAKE exhibited in the breakfast room at breakfast time. I can understand new concepts, I love animals, i support the idea that getting to know some animals might reduce the fear or animosity. Bu i DON’t support being forced to face my worst fear without any warning, at hotel breakfast. I really don’t find it amusing. If I knew about this original way that this hotel uses to entertain its guests I wouldn’t have gone there even if they offered me to stay there for free, let alone paying for it.…
We had a wonderful experience at this hotel from the start. The staff is extremely friendly, and always ready to help with anything you need. We felt like we weren’t just a number but they made us feel like at home and very welcomed. We spent only 2 days at the hotel but had a feeling like we were there for a whole week. Food is amazing 🤤, it is not a typical “hotel food” but it’s comparable to high end restaurants. For some relaxing they also offer saunas and a pool. We also had a dog with us and we can say that dogs are more then welcomed 🐶
this is an old hotel that looks rum down from the outside but has been beautifully renovated inside. As the name suggests rose, or pink, is the theme colour and all tastefully done. Staff were extremally helpful and friendly. Responded promptly to emails in advance of our stay and provided attentive service when we were there. we had a room with a lake view - totally worth the bit extra. the room balconies, like the rest of the outside of the hotel are tired and sad which is a shame but not enough to make me change my overall view of the hotel. Very nice breakfast and restaurant. Would definitely return - worth the cost
We booked this hotel very last minute and we do not regret it. We had amazing time. We also spent New years eve there and was amazing. It was beyond expectations. The hall was beautifully decorated and the menu was delicious, staff very friendly and program very diverse and it was designed for all generations. The children were delighted by slovenian Santa Claus :). He brought home made marmelades and cookies for everyone and by the way they were delicious! Whoever wanted to stay at the party after the program, DJ was also there. The next day there was brunch with lots of good food. Definitely recommend and will come back soon.
We had an absolute blast at the hotel. We stayed over the New Years and were thrilled about the dinner, service and the performances which were all great. The staff were really nice and always made sure we had everything we needed. Our favourite thing was the jungle brunch, where they served many varieties of freshly prepared food. Many vegetarian and vegan options as well. A special thank you to mr. Sok, who made our stay perfect with his kindness and helpfulness. We cannot wait to come over again.
New Year's Eve dinner was very modest and we stayed hungry but the salvation was in the cookies that Santa shared after the 4th sequence 😅. New Year's program: a performance by high school girls so we felt like we were at a school play. The band ABBA MIA, although in this case the performers of the year came, as well as the original line-up of the gigs and the voices of the performers were excellent. There was no atmosphere, dance and fun as would be appropriate for the end and beginning of the New Year. The highlight of it all was the announcement of what follows from the dishes to the performers ... all in all poorly organized, sad, boring and too expensive! The interior has been renovated but there is a lack of educated staff in the restaurant. Breakfast is very good, the pool is small but enough to enjoy if there are not too many guests and the same is with saunas (3 saunas for this capacity of the hotel is very small).…
