We really enjoyed the stay here. All tourist attractions in walking distance. The service was very nice and helpful, we felt welcomed. The only things you might complain about are lack of AC, lack of own parking and lack of elevator.

Overall, an ok hotel, but beware which room you book so that you don't waste your money like I did. Firstly, fantastic location in the Old Town, away from the hustle and bustle, yet 7min walk right to the centre and the medieval wall walk is right outside the back entrance to the hotel. Speaking of which, it was as much a joy, as a curse, especially if it is right below your window and people slam the metal gate to the Bankowska street till 2am. I, sadly, decided to pay extra and stay in a glassed balcony river view room. I thought it would be nice to sit in a cosy chair with woolen blanket and see the river and the ancient walls with my morning coffee. Despite the fact that I was promised on email to get a room on highest floor (otherwise why pay for a river view one can barely see?), I was put in the new annex with a lift, and on the very bottom, 1st floor! I was informed that all the other rooms were occupied, which was simply not true, as I checked the next day. So one not only had the banging hotel metal gate to worry about, but also people standing around, or walking right past one's window, little river to see, and the noise of the main highway right outside the city walls, running alongside the river. The window did not seem to be double-glazed as they were in Gdansk, and elsewhere in Poland, so even my earplugs were no defence against the traffic and the banging back hotel gate. My advice: save your money, and avoid the so called "river view" unless it is warm weather, but then opt for proper open balcony room, and insist on the highest floor, or don't bother. On the plus side, the room was spacious enough, if dull, bed comfortable, tea making facilities, mini fridge, etc. The whole place super clean, except the mirror in the bathroom, and the nearly falling off toilet roll handle, the rest was perfectly sparkling. As befits a 2 star place there were very little amenities, awful in the wall one-speed, hold the button permanently type hairdryer (why hotels don't spend €10 max wholesale and get useable hairdryer is beyond me). The towels old and rough; heating just about coping (it was quite fresh in the room even with just +3C outside). Curtains were incapable of blocking out the street and highway light fully, and if it wasn't for winter, I would have been up with the crack of dawn, as the curtain fabric has no backing. The "inclusive" breakfast was rather poor - no hot options at all, and what limited cold stuff was available, was the very base range, supermarket variety. What redeemed the stay for me, besides the location, was the service (which was really good), and the cosy common areas, such as beautifully decorated front room, with Christmas tree and warm accents, and the winter garden courtyard. Would I stay here again? Yes, most definitely, it is (at least for non-local) affordable enough, but I would just stay in a normal room, facing away from the river, to get peaceful sleep, rather than spend £50+ for river view room and get no sleep.

We stayed here because it was in a quiet part of the medieval town. Very glad we opted for this hotel rather than our usual chain. Very pleasant staff, all of whom seemed to speak excellent English. Room was in the old part of the property. Smallish, but sympathetically kitted out and beautifully clean. We had twin beds which were very low, but quite comfortable. Shower room well maintained and loads of hot water. Breakfast was a Polish buffet - love that they supply salad and pickled cucumbers along with cold meats and cheeses. Loads of rolls and breads, scrambled eggs on request and there was even an appear and of Berlinki (Frankfurters) on one morning. all in all a very comfortable stay which came out at 36 GBP per night for two, with excellent breakfast. Don’t be put off by its two stars - it’s underrated. Only question I had was, the room had an electric kettle, two cups, and nothing else - no tea bag, spoon??? Perhaps that’s why it only has two stars. On a quiet street next to Pierniki (gingerbread) museum. Highly recommend.

Came to Torun for a weekend break. What a lovely town, what a lovely hotel. Small, quaint and charming. We had a room with the view of the Vistula river; room was quite small, but well maintained and equipped; the bathroom was also small but with a excellent shower. Continental breakfast was served in the 'old' part of the hotel, just across a small lovely courtyard. Everything was fresh, delicious and plenty to chose from. We found staff helpful and polite. Would recommend this hotel specially to couples.

Comfortable, well equiped room with discreet.balcony overlooking silent lane close to the old city walls. They offer a good breakfast but home coffee and scrambled eggs must be ordered. Visitors are welcomed by extremely helpful and friendly personnel.
