My wife and I spent our 1st anniversary in this hotel. Whilst the overall anniversary was good, the stay at the hotel was sadly not what we expected it to be. The front desk and other hotel staff had a very bad attitude, weren’t helpful at all. And when I asked them some simple questions they were unable to answer them. Bed provided was two single beds put together ( very uncomfortable) and the blanket was a single double blanket which only covered about 70% of the bed, it ended up being a cold night ( was winter). The breakfast seemed nice at first glance, but the eggs were cold, bacon cold and tough, staff very rude. With the pool area, the jacuzzi looked like it hadn’t had a decent clean in a long time, there was rust on the bottom, and after having just got in the staff kicked us out to do maintenance, even though we asked if they could run their maintenance test a little later. They said it was to much of a hassle for them. Sad to say that I would not recommend this hotel to couple or families.

We visited the hotel two times, last year in August and this year in October. First of all, we appreciate the location - nearby the river and close to all city attractions. If you visit the hotel in summer - you can enjoy the outdoor swimming pool, we spent the whole day chilling by the pool. In winter you can enjoy the indoor pool and spa.. However, this time we visited the hotel I did not like the lifeguard’s attitude - he should be on duty by the pool paying a careful attention to and looking after the guests, not entering on and off a staff room, chit-chatting with other staff.

The overall impression of the hotel was great. However, there was a disappointment. Even though there was no mention while booking of that fact that the gym is out of order, we were told it indeed was not accessible. I deduct two starts for it as it was an important purchase factor for me. I think the hotel should inform guests about such things beforehand. Also, the mattress was not of the quality you would expect of a hotel of this quality, but then again it wasn't utterly terrible.

That was one of the best weekend in my life thanks to stay in Copernicus Hotel. Hotel is located in centra Torun city. There is no option that you will be bored at this Hotel. I have booked room with balcony and I got breathtaking view from my room. Excellent reception and restaurant service. The tables after meals were cleaned and disinfected on an ongoing basis, right after the guests finished breakfast. Lot of choice at breakfast. In the cloudy weather I could relax at the swimming pool. The elevator goes straigh away to the pool reception. I highly recommend staying at the Copernicus Hotel!

Super friendly Service (in the lobby, in the restaurants, by the bar etc.) Very comfortable rooms, nice equipped. Even if hotel is existing on the market since few years - it still looks good and is being nicely cleaned end taken care. Great swimming pools (inside and outside) - so you have sth to do with kids in evenings or when it rains. Amazing breakfasts <3 And THE localization... there are plenty of hotels in the near / in Old Town directly... but you should know, that Copernicus not only lays by the Wisła river (the view is pretty;), but also to get to Old Town by feet - it takes max 10min (7min to Planetarium etc.) We truly recommend the hotel and if there will be a chance - we'll stay by them again (Toruń is beautiful - a must city to visit)

I stayed here with my polish partner in early August. I think I was possibly the only English speaker staying in the hotel. The hotel looks a little more tired compared with the perfect photos online, more so from the back. The entrance is clean but very much like a conference hotel. We found the rooms clean. I think it was the first hotel I've ever stayed in that had no channel in English. Only German and Polish channels, which hints at their main customer source. I think this is pretty poor for any hotel these days, almost everyone has access to English channels these days, yet this hotel hasn't. The check in was formal and polite but no warmth. The check out was more formal and polite, with less warmth. The pool was a great bonus, but was very busy. There were loads of children and in the morning, there were water aerobics classes going on for the more advanced ages. I wouldn't stay again, as I felt it wasn't a hotel that considered non German or Polish speakers. With so many hotels I would look elsewhere, if communication is a concern for you. If not, then it's fine. Interesting point, which I thought noteworthy, even the fire evacuation instructions are in polish only. I think this hotel should reflect on how it caters for non polish speakers. Thankfully, my partner was there to bridge the gap.

We came only for a weekend. The hotel is nicely located overviewing the Vistula river on one side and a park on the other, a few steps to the Old Town. We enjoyed the pool, the surrounding area and delicious breakfast. We'll definitely be back soon.

I stayed here for 4 nights in August with my partner. The purpose of our trip was to visit family. I'm British whilst my partner is Polish and originates from Torun, so was familiar with the hotel. I was impressed by the entrance of the hotel, which is very modern and well maintained. We were checked in quickly but were not given a lot of the basic information we required, such as breakfast times, info on facilities etc. The room was large and spacious however is not as modern as the public areas of the hotel. When I booked this hotel I was aware that there was a nightclub there, which I find odd, however it is only open at the weekends and we were staying from Sunday to Thursday so noise shouldn't have been an issue. I mention this as other reviews spoke about noise issues from the nightclub as well as from lifts, heating and air con etc. We unfortunately did experience significant noise issues during our stay, which affected the overall experience for us and was made worse by the unprofessional manner of the reception staff. On day 3, we were aware that a convention was taking place at the hotel, which then became fully booked. That night, we noticed an event being set up within an outdoor building, which was right next to our room. The building was clearly not sound-proofed, which we realised during all the sound checks taking place. Furthermore, all of the windows were open due to the warm weather, making it even noisier as the sound travelled. Throughout the night, there was a very loud disco, lots of drunk people milling around outside and microphone announcements. I was unable to sleep and called reception at 12.30am, only to be told that it was booked until 2am. Not even an apology was offered. I advised that I would be making a complaint in the morning. The next morning, after only a couple hours of sleep, we went down to reception. Before I even spoke, the lady behind the desk immediately started speaking to my partner in Polish and completely ignored me. Up until this point, i had been able to speak English to all staff at the hotel that I had encountered, including this particular female. I questioned why she was not speaking to me in English and she continued to converse with my partner only, who then had to translate for me. I found this whole experience degrading, rude, disrespectful and verging on being racist. When I declined her offer of a discounted night stay, a colleague joined her, and also ignored me, speaking only to my partner. At this point I asked to speak to the Manager. After 15 minutes, he appeared and offered us a free night stay. He apologised for the noise and claimed that it was the first time the outdoor building had been used for an event, which I find hard to believe. We were moved rooms and had a quiet final evening. This hotel is thought to be the best by many in Torun however I think that this is based on a historical reputation and I do not think that the cost per evening was justified when there are equally nice hotels that are far cheaper. For those that aren't Polish speakers, be aware that you will encounter rude staff who suddenly lose their ability to speak English when you have a problem. This is not acceptable in any hotel and certainly not one who advertises itself as being multi-lingual. We will not return here when we visit Torun again.
