My bf and I stayed at the suite in Freedom Hostel (room 13) and we were positively surprised. The suite was large, spacious, clean and with a great view. The personnel was friendly and helpful. I strongly recommend the place for everyone visiting Toruń. Beware of stairs - not suitable for the disabled or the elderly.

Friendly & helpful staff! Super clean shared kitchen & toilets.. I asked for a single room and they gave me a triple one with view towards Ratusz! You are minutes away from everything! I'll definitely come back. Remember to bring cash!

Before anyone writes "for this price, what do you expect?"...I just expected clean, that's all.
I've been dreading leaving this review but I feel obligated since it was the good reviews on TripAdvisor that lead me to this...
While planning my roadtrip around Poland I relied on TripAdvisor as one of my main sources of places to visit and stay in. Since it was a roadtrip I wanted to stay in hostels instead of hotels. I'm really confused about the good reviews this place got.
Walking in to the hostel it's dark and it smells like one of those dirty cabs that attempt to coverup their filth with the scented car-fresheners.
Walking into our room was ok until I set on my thin (what use to be a mattress) and noticed the weird BROWN blanket covering it and I just had to see what this BROWN was covering up. Blood? Poop stains? Dirt? I will never know what those things were but it was under my boyfriends BROWN blanket as well. If this is what was under the blanket I wonder what was on the blanket. Nevermind, I don't even want to know.
We received sheets from the hostel to cover everything. The sheets seemed like they've been around since Torun was build. They even had holes in them which made me feel even less protected from the BROWN.
Bathrooms seemed clean at first but there are no paper towels or drying sheets available. What does this hostel offer instead? BROWN towels. So if I chose to wipe my "behind" with it, no one would ever know. How can you offer thew same towel to be used over and over again by complete strangers?! I do understand the color choice was a camouflage. Very clever.
The rooms were dungy and the air felt heavy. Surprisingly enough me and my boyfriend fell alseep within seconds and we both woke up at 5 AM. We were out the door by 6.
After Torun we had 3 more hostels to visit and none of them could even be compared to this ...hole or as my boyfriend has named it "a haunted Brothel"
If you value cleanliness don't come here.

A small, quite hostel right in the centre of Torun. You couldn't get a better situation, a couple of minutes walk from the Rynek along the Old Town's main street. The hostel only has a handfull of rooms and is situated on the fourth floor. There only appeared to be one member of staff, who was always there, but he was pleasant, efficient and spoke good English. We stayed in a twin room, with two bunks. It was very small, but comfortable and very clean (as is the whole hostel). There are two shower rooms/toilets, and that seemed sufficient when we were there at least. Breakfast is simple, but plentiful.

the rooms are comfortable and clean, the bed is nice, the windows are big and the outside view is goooood i couldn't ask for more. The staff is friendly, you can pay on the spot (and its relatively affordable! wkwk), its located near the convenience store and the town hall. Yet there is no elevator there so if you carry heavy luggage, you need a bit effort to take your luggage upstairs. All of that paid off with the comforts that the hotel provided and everything the city offered. <3

This hostel did the job. It was very quiet, was in a good location close to the market square. The room was clean enough and the toilets were not too far away. The receptionist was really helpful and actually i bumped my score up one because of her helpong us to plan our journed and she was very friendly. That really can make all the difference.

We had a great time at this hostel, however due to the location it was a bit noisy with the church bells, bands playing and the public enjoying the summer nights. Also, we had a shared dorm and the floors creaked every time someone walked around.
The staff were super friendly and allowed us a super late check in (11pm) which was a blessing.
Breakfast consisted of 3 different cereals.
The shared bathrooms are well maintained and clean.
The kitchen facilities consist of a fridge, microwave and a hotplate.

You can't get a better location than this. All the main attractions you would want to see in Torun are within 2 minutes walk of this place.
I really enjoyed the curtain that went around the bunks. Nice for privacy :)
There is a minimal kitchen. A fridge, microwave, hot plate thing, and cutlery. If there was a stove top, it would be perfect. The wifi can be a bit shaky at times. Occasionally I would have to walk towards the reception to get a signal.
Overall, i found this hostel quite relaxing. It has a very chill and quiet environment, and great if you need to regain your energy after a long day. 4/5

This is a nice, clean place to stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. One draw back, there is limited parking area around the Old Town. Besides refrigerator there is a tea and coffee available. The hostel is worthy to stay in if your budget is limited.
