Once upon a time, this was an exemplar hotel, and by far the best in town, in particular in term of service. It has unfortunately sleeped away in the last 4 years, and what was the must stay at hotel, is now only the shadow of this massive former text mill, itself the glory of Lodz 100 years ago. Room are still larger by an standard, building is magnificent, but during my stay in mid May 2022, the once excellent ground floor restaurant was shut close, the tables at breakfast where taking ages to be cleaned, so you had to do it yourself if you wanted to seat without waiting 10mns (this is what it took them to clean the table next to mine), food is averagely good, the buffet still offers a high variety, quality is OK, not spectacular. The bed rooms are still massive by any standard, still fresh and clean 15 years after its opening, thr architecture goegeous, but service is a let down, when i came back to my room at 18h00 it wasn't cleaned since the morning, the same happened to me during my last stay there pre Corona outbreak. Luckily it wasn't midnight when I came back. Additionally, I discovered that they don't change linenes daily, but only every 2nd day, not what you can expcet in a 4*. This is a cheap trick to save 1$ on the cleaning cost, usually such hotels offer you the option they don't impose it on you like here. After complaining to the head of reception, this was the 2nd time it was happening, they sent a platter of cakes and latter called me to excuse themselves. This is appreciated and professional, but could be totally avoided, by ensuring that all rooms be cleaned during the day. If you make abstraction of the weak house keeping & breakfast service, it is a good hotel for 1 night if it is cheaper than Puro across the street, or the HI on Pietrokowska. The main pro in this one is the roof top pool and the huge room size, which can make it a great combination even for weekend stays, if you can forgive them all the service gaps. So Lodz has now probably better serviced 4 * hotels, just without a pool. …
Good place to stay - because of good localisation, atmosphere and design... Just different from nearby Hiltons, Marriots etc.... Great breakfast offer - including local products - which is a very plus. Minus - staff engagement (asking twice for towels replacement is not good - as rooms are cleaned on demand - not sure why - COVID excusion?) and lack of iron at room - which should be a standard. Anyway we back there....
Our three night stay at this hotel was a complete disappointment on every level, with the staff seemingly uninterested or incapable of providing any sort of service (probably both). Among the many failures we encountered during our stay were the following: 1. Rude receptionist at the spa area who refused to allow us to see the pool area while wearing our clothes. Apparently, you have to be changed into full swimming attire even to view the pool! 2. Completely absent service at the much touted sky bar, which left us waiting 20 minutes without anyone taking our drink order. We left, as did another couple who also did not receive any service. Inexplicably, there was plenty of staff in the lobby bar, although when we tried to order a drink, they cheerfully informed us that they had just closed and we should go to the sky bar. 3. Rude and disinterested night clerk, who informed us that no manager was on duty when we complained about the sky bar, and that we should try again at 6 am the next morning. After we insisted, she had the manager on duty call us, but only after plenty of eye rolls to let us know how inconvenient that was. The manager on duty did call, but only a half hearted apology (his words were “it happens”), and he promised to look into the matter and email me the next morning. Unsurprisingly, no email ever came. 4. When we called the night receptionist to ask for extra pillows, she informed us it was too late, and we should try again the next day. This was a first in a supposed four star hotel. 5. The room was not serviced during our entire stay. Ostensibly this was because of COVID, but more likely just a convenient cost cutting measure. This meant we had to phone reception every time we needed supplies, and then wait a long time for them to be delivered. We have received daily service at many other hotels in Poland recently, so there is no excuse. 6. The front desk is not well staffed and does not answer the phone in the morning, as it is swamped with guest checkouts and we only saw one person on duty. But during the afternoon, when no guests are waiting, there are plenty of staff members standing around and chatting. I could go on, but I think that’s enough. The bottom line is that this hotel is definitely not ready for prime time. Do yourself a favor and book across the street at the Puro Hotel. Due to the many failures listed above, we resorted to using the bar at the Puro, and always were met with very friendly service, which was in definite contrast to our own more expensive hotel.…
Post factory, historical building with modern chic and elegance. Specious rooms with good quality of amenities. There is a pool in the hotel and nice rooftop bar with outdoor terrace. The Manufactura shopping mall is just next door and main street with bars and restaurants is also very near by hotel. Very friendly staff and fantastic service. I couldn’t ask for more!
Fantastic place to spend a weekend in Łódź. Hotel in an old factory building, with "soul". Big open spaces, big apartmetns, perfect location in city center. Majority of city attraction just a walk away.
Whenever I have been in this hotel I experienced very supporting staff, high level accommodation and great food. Even in this strange period with the coroan pandemic this hotel was able to keep the level in all sections. Personally I love to have a drink in the bar, the breakfast is always a dream and swimming in the pool above the roofs of Manufaktura is absolutely amazing.
Interesting modern architecture. The hotel is centrally located and only minutes walk away from a large shopping complex and the famous shopping street of Lodz with on-site parking (at a fee). The room was rather narrow and the interior design was not quite thought through for the guest. It was most difficult to use the complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, which were packed into a cupboard right next to the bed. The milk-glass between the bathroom and the bedroom meant that the whole bed was flooded with light, when the bathroom was used at night, waking the other person. Nevertheless, it was clean and comfortable for one night. The breakfast buffet was large and appetising. The staff were friendly and helpful. The spa area was open, but we didn't visit it. Apparently the view from the swimming pool is not to be missed.....…
Great apartment, really big with two bathrooms. Very quiet and beautifully located near by Manufaktura with walking distance to Piotrowska street. Fantastic breakfast, helpful service, nice drink bar... I would expect a bit better furnitures standard. That’s the only thing I spotted as criticism.
Andel’s was simply amazing. Only good stuff to say. Beautiful and special hotel, in an old factory, full of small details that make the stay even better. Great service. Great location. Next to a Nice complex of restaurant and shopping (picture)
Fantastic, really spacious hotel with great design elements all over the place - and probably the biggest (and one of the nicest) hotel room I have ever had (there vary in size of course, depending the category, but even the smaller ones are big). Food & service is just fine, only the check-out always takes quite some time for unclear reasons. Location is also great with quite some restaurants in the other industrial buildings around it, and a shopping centre. City centre is also not far away.
