It left a sour taste! Liked · It is a lovely building, which has been beautifully restored. The location is good and the area quiet. Disliked · The reception upon arrival was chilly to say the least. We were given a printed lengthy list of the rules of the place. .....no parties in room etc. this was a first for us and very offputting! Dikul is not a hotel! There is no room service, no fresh towels, no maintenance of soap levels etc. no room cleaning. It can be arranged for a separate payment! We booked breakfast for the four nights that we were there. When we arrived we were told that breakfast was 10 minutes away in the Hotel Jazz. We normally like to return to our room after breakfast to clean teeth, dress warmly etc. so we were not crazy about this. However, on day one we headed to the Jazz hotel to a very basic breakfast. That evening we returned the remaining three dockets to reception and asked that we be refunded for the following three breakfasts. I also emailed my request to the ‘hotel’. The man at reception Said that he was unable to do this but if we called to reception in the morning the person ‘in charge’ could sort it. We returned and spoke to a very sweet girl who was out of her depth with our request but said she would speak to her manager. We returned twice next day but again were told that the manager was dealing with it. The day we checked out we were told that this person was on holidays!! There has still been no reply to my email!!! We would not return to this hotel and would actively discourage others from staying here!!

Great location, large clean rooms and bathroom with shower (soap/shampoo gel provided ) also excellent breakfast for a good price provided at nearby jazz hotel. Helpful friendly staff. Just 5 minutes walk from the main squares with the fabulous Christmas market . A good solid 3 star option.

After visiting this hotel previously, this visit was very disappointing. There has been a change of ownership in this hotel which has made it much worse from how it used to be, and doesn’t uphold it’s rating. The bed and the pillows were very uncomfortable, and the cleanliness of the room wasn’t up to standard. In addition the room only came with one room card, and your not allowed a second one, even though the room is for 2 people. Every few Minutes there was some suspicious noises in the room that were very frustrating. The bathroom is very outdated, not clean, and laid out poorly so that when you sit on the toilet you bang your head on the shower screen. Just about the only positive at this hotel is location and the on-site car park, however this isn’t able to be open with your room card you have to call reception every time you would like to open it, and leave your car to do so.

Excellent hotel close to the river but only a 5/10 walk into the main square. An old building converted into a very modern light airy hotel. Extremely spacious room with modern facilities including an electronic bed and window blinds. A more than adequate choice for breakfast and would definitely stay here again.
