If you are looking for a clean, modern hotel for your stay in Wrocław then look no further. The Grand City Hotel is not the cheapest establishment you will find in the city but it is certainly very central to the historic centre, literally a minute walk, and has very good facilities. For those arriving by car there are car park close to the hotel, neither are free sadly, but at least you can rest easy that the vehicle is secure for the duration of your stay. The staff are all very friendly and could not have been more helpful and accommodating as we brought our dog with us. Would very happily stay here again.
I just do not get the negative reviews for this hotel. We read them before we went and arrived at the hotel with a certain amount of trepidation. We had two rooms. One for myself and my wife and one for my daughter and her daughter. They were right next to each other. Let's start with the few negatives. Although there was supposed to be a fridge in the room, my daughter didn't have one. When asking why was told that someone had had covid in that room(?) No problems because she shared ours. The safe in our room was difficult to open. Again, no problems because we shared hers. We were there for a week and although we had room service every day the carpet was never hoovered. These were minor niggles. Our rooms were large and very comfortable. Flat screen TV but only two English channels. Breakfast was fine. It was continental, although we found the coffee (from a machine) too strong for us. There is a restaurant/bar and we did have a chat with the barman who tried to sell us the restaurant for a meal. However, considering that the hotel is surrounded by bars and eateries that are a fraction of its prices, it was surprising to see that during our weeks stay we saw no one in the bar/restaurant in the evenings. I would have thought that the hotel could have reduced the price for guests staying there. At least it would have given the barman something to do instead of just standing there polishing glasses. We would have liked to eaten there, but with cheaper food just around the corner we didn't. The hotel is slap bang in the middle of the city and very handy for trams. Reception staff were very helpful with advice on trams etc. All in all it's a very nice hotel. We certainly did not hear any noise at night from outside or inside for that matter. Our room looked out onto the bars and eateries too.So, as I say I cannot understand those negative reviews because we found it a nice comfortable place to stay…
Loud rooms from street side. All the noises coming from the bars were hearable at our room laaaate after midnight - not pleasant place to stay. We have found half empty Pepsi bottle under our bed. Besides, hotel looks nice, but I do not recommend it.
Shocking place looks nice from the outside rooms are nice. Staff are blunt and talk to you like rubbish. When you leave the charge you for broken stuff when you have left we got billed for a TV which we didn't break. Over £889 taken out 5 hours we checked out then the hotel manager blocks your number
Stayed in the hotel which was a good room for the price at the end of a business trip. We were advised by the hotel to park in a certain car park which would cost 70 Polish Zlotty per day. The actual cost was 147 Polish Zlotty per day. After checking out which was seamless, we received a call from the manager saying the TV was broken and would cost £600. He sent a photo of a TV that looked as thpugh it had been dropped from height. Before we could even contest this, the manager had taken £880 from an account without authorisation and he has now blocked our number so we can't even engage. Also billed for 2 days as it takes 2 days to fit a new TV and that came to £280. Yet its £72 per night for that room. Stay elsewhere.
I can´t say anything bad about the Grand City Hotel, but also not to much good things. Its a normal Hotel - nothing special. Only the breakfast is a little bit disappointed. There i know more hotels with a bigger selection, but its ok. The staff was friendly, but that is what i except in a hotel. The Grand City Hotel is okay, the location is also near Wroclaw central.
Doesn’t get much better than this hotel! Everything about it was pretty spot on. They decorated it all Christmassy, and they played Christmas music in the hallways which I thought was a lovely little touch. And just to let you know the location is even better! I can’t believe the value for money. Would highly recommend to stay here!
A pleasant contemporary hotel with spacious rooms and quiet. Comfortable beds and room to move about, large showers and bathroom. Excellent breakfast buffet and freindly helpful staff. Perfectly located for everything in the city centre including an excellent Christmas market.
The room we were first given was great. It appeared quiet, was spacious etc...unfortunately, its door didn't lock. First, my husband had to really insist as the staff seemed reluctant to believe him and send someone to have a look. Finally, it was agreed there was a problem and we were told to go to reception to get another room. At what point we had to re-pack and go through the whole check-in process. This after an 8 hour drive...The second room wasnt as good, smaller, on the 1st floor near the lift, someone letting their door bang would make the headbed shake! The fridge didn't work, and to top it off, 2 members of staff let themselves in as we were in bed! Not a great start... The worse thing by far however was the robotic abrasive attitude of our 'friendly receptionnist' the next morning when we asked for our original room (with the lock fixed). "You can't change room every day" was her answer as if we were children having a tantrum. She didn't take any responsibility for the problem, which was entirely the hotel's. No apology, no understanding of the inconvenience it caused and reacted like the situation had been created by us, like it was our fault the room had not been prepared! We never wanted to change room in the first place and, had the job been done properly, wouldnt have had to!! Terrible manners, non existent customers service skills and below standards generally.…
Was ok, but for this price many others hotel with lower standard is very similar. Very clean, please remember to not take 4 flor....temperature from roof....aircondition continusly needs to work. Almost on the main squere but cery quiet.
