I spent one night in Monopol. The hotel is located 5 min from Main Square. I loved the building itself, it is perfectly renewed and spotless clean. Breakfast is great as well. Also houskeeping ladies were very helpful when needed. The issues I noticed: - ACOUSTIC in the rooms. You can hear your neighbours walking, taking showers and banging the doors. I had no sleep. - plastic bottles in the SPA. - no coffee/tea in the room. You can order it from the restaurant - no proper curtains. The light easly gets through - at the checkout no question "how was your stay?" which is the standard in other hotels All above very disappointing for the 5* hotel.
A wonderful stay! It was really good: Size of the rooms, location, equipment, friendliness of the staff, pool in the basement, care products in the bathroom, fast elevators, terrace on the upper floor, parking possibility opposite the hotel, lamps. Great bathroom with rainforest shower and tub, impressive building Not so good was the brightness in the room. Because of the position of the windows it was quite dark in the room. Conclusion: a great hotel in a great location, I can absolutely recommend
The building is grand, the location great, the rooms huge. Unfortunately the positives stop here. My expectation (and indeed experience) of a 5 star is that things are made largely hassle-free. I did not quite get this feeling at all at Monopol. Many small things betray a lock of attention to detail in the design and furnishing of the room. No clock in the room. No coffee or tea making facilities. Unintuitive A/C control panel (when I called the reception about it, they said they'd send someone right away, but no one came). Then there is that staff, who were also a let down. The "concierge" has absolutely no idea what they're talking about. When I inquired at the front desk about getting tickets for the famous Panorama Racławicka (the main tourist attraction of the city), the lady told me that I "just need to go to the website" - almost mockingly so. Thing is: I had done just that, to no success, else I wouldn't ask. Another staff member then chimed in: "Don't worry, there are always tickets on the day, you just have to go". So we went - only to find out tickets had been sold out 3 days before. Great. You would expect a "concierge" to have their finger on the pulse of their city. Obviously not the case here. Very disappointing. Finally, I would strongly advise being VERY careful in the bathroom: the marble floor looks great, but the design of the shower is EXTREMELY dangerous (slippery). An exercise in form over function, as with many things in this hotel.…
We stayed at Hotel Monopol for a post-lockdown weekend getaway. We were extremely impressed with the friendly and accommodating staff and beautiful interiors. Our room was a Deluxe double, but it felt like a suite with an expansive bathroom and super comfortable king-size bed. The exposed concrete offered a modern, industrial feel, yet the room remained cozy. The hotel is very conveniently located, opposite the theater and a six minute walk to the main square. There are plenty of fantastic dining options nearby, including Dinette and Jolie Brasserie Café. We didn’t try the breakfast at the hotel but heard it was great. Despite the corona pandemic, which has already subsided in Poland, the hotel has reopened its ambient spa in accordance with governmental regulations. The stunning rooftop terrace is a huge plus! Guests can partake in drinks and dinner while enjoying beautiful sunsets over Wroclaw. We rebook this hotel in a heartbeat and completely recommend it to anyone! …
I love this hotel! For a business trip The Monopol is absolutely great. The whole hotel is absolutely steeped in character and history and the rooms couldn’t be further from the carbon copy international chain hotel rooms that plague most trips. Everything is of high quality right down to L’Occitane toiletries. The breakfast is very good with a huge choice including lots of fresh food and caters well for dietary requirements. The service across the hotel is efficient and helpful. I haven’t used the gym but the pool is lovely, just a bit small. All things considered I won’t stay anywhere else in Wroclaw.
