Our recent visit to Dom Nad Potokiem Borszowka was a dream come true for us as my husband & I are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary this year & on July 19th, 2015 I celebrated my 70th birthday in the house where my father was born in 1901. In 1911 my newly widowed grandmother opened this very home as a guesthouse for the first time. Now, over a century later, current owner Lukasz Borsch carries on what seems to be the destiny of this house...to be a country retreat in the beautiful mountainous area of Szklarska Poreba, Poland. For us it was an easy drive from Prague where our vacation began after flying in from the United States where we now reside. Borszowka far exceeded our expectations. Lukasz has retained the charming rural feeling of the original home while incorporating sleek, modern amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. The rooms are airy, clean & comfortable. Guests have many options to enjoy in the common areas of the house & gardens. Our particular favorite was the shaded open-air veranda that flanks one entire side of the house. The seating areas on the veranda, which is surrounded by flower boxes, is absolutely perfect & provides a restful view of the house's pastoral location. The breakfast room is bright & cheerful. Staff member Helena has a delicious array of foods available in the mornings. She is extremely friendly & we send a special thank you to her for making our stay so memorable. My husband says her scrambled eggs are the best he's ever tasted! Our European vacation included Prague, Budapest, Vienna, Salzburg & Zurich but for us our time spent at Borszowka was the BEST! Words cannot express our gratitude to Lukasz for all his help in making our stay feel like a visit "home" & we thank him for continuing the welcoming tradition of this house.…
