I stayed in Mercure Hotel for 4 days. I loved the room, the interior was very fresh and contemporary. Room was quiet, with the view on to the allotments. Lots of space, free safe, kettle, mugs, coffee & tea bags. Didn’t use restaurant much, but ordered pumpkin soup once and it was lovely. Very clean place. Recommend.
Perfect hotel to see the city. I stayed in a superior room - nice modern design, big bathroom and a lot of storage space. Staff is very friendly, informative and professional. Will stay hier again ! !
Loud elevator, 3 nights without sleep. No possibility to change the room. Old furniture in apartment. No cleaning service. No understanding for our situation. Compensation was 1 dinner with tourist group and loyality points enough for less that half night.
I am so glad I came to this hotel the 3-star and priced accordingly. But I felt it was a 5-star service the staff here we're incredible very helpful very friendly I'm very understanding to my situation. The rooms are spotless and big the food was totally adequate. It was not any one person here who made the trip for me it was a combined effort I will be back soon to get my second hip replaced and I will look forward to staying here I kind of think you enough. We were really impressed with the staff here. They are very accommodating and even let us have a late check out on our room. We had a superior room which was very nice and modern with comfy bed. Wifi was very good and we was able to stream UK tv and movies well on our iPhones. Breakfast was absolutely amazing, really lovely food and fantastic selection. The staff spoke quite good English so were able to answer any queries we had and were really nice towards us. The pool and sauna is also good to relax. And the location is good, a ten minute walk into the town of jelenia gora and a supermarket a five min walk down the road.
The hotel is 10 minutes walk from downtown Jelenia Góra, in a nice, green neighbourhood. The staff are extremely helpful - from the ladies at the reception and their Kierownik boss, through house keeping and restaurant staff. At the back of the hotel there is a cake shop with the best ”drozdżówka” pastry we have had in years (try blueberry if you have a chance, typical and tasty Polish treat). We will go back!
As we planned our journey late there was no much choice. We booked Mercure Jelenia Góra. I saw in some reviews information that the hotel was renovated. Our room and probably the whole floor was NOT. And it is high time to help this hotel to forget communist time and design. I have to however admit that breakfast was good. Except for coffee, which was awful.
Pros: - Location: (Walking) Giant Mountains Museum (9mins), St. Erasmus and St. Pancras Basilica (16mins), Church of the Holy Cross (17mins). - Bathroom amenities: Liquid soap, combined shampoo/body wash, tissues, shoe horn, low quality hairdryer (bring your own). - Complimentary bottles of water each day. - Free in-room WiFi (but with fairly slow speeds, approx. 7Mbps). Cons: - We stayed in this hotel two years ago. My review can be found on TripAdvisor. Unfortunately, the hotel has gone noticeably downhill. Bathroom amenities, WiFi speeds and in-room cleanliness are worse than two years ago. Many other things have also not improved. I see that the ‘Dyrektor generalny’ has replied to several other TripAdvisor reviews many months ago, yet nothing has been fixed, at least not from our experience. So, what is management actually doing? Laundry was delivered one day late, and delivered still wet and ironed terribly (all crushed upon delivery, we had to re-iron ourselves) and there were several blood stains from mosquitoes on the curtains, walls and roof. Coffee cups and spoons still had coffee residue from the previous clients! - Bathroom needs to be updated. The water temperature in the shower constantly changes from hot to cold randomly, the bath towels are tiny and fraying at the edges and as mentioned above, the hairdryer is not powerful enough to dry hair (bring your own). - Staff is generally not proactive. When toilet paper was not replenished by the cleaners, or when the laundry was finally delivered (late), we were told to go to reception. In every other hotel in the world, these have been brought to the room. Further (as others have mentioned), with the ‘do not disturb’ sign on the door, the cleaner still came in the room while we were still in bed. Upon mentioning these complaints to reception staff, all they said was ‘ok’. No apologies at all. - Avoid the “100% juice” machine at breakfast. It’s definitely not 100% juice! It’s a post-mix sugary syrup mixed with water, which often, had run out. - I feel sorry for the hotel, because it is very cute and has great potential. But management needs to take action and have much better training.…
