I have spent 3 days at the "START" Hotel I am thankful for: 1. Extremely nice, individualized approach to my needs 2. Delicious "home-made style" lunches 3. Acceptance of my dog and treating him as a guest, not an intruder 4. Small but clean rooms with bathrooms 5. A great location enabling me to reach every corner of Zakopane. I RECOMMEND this hotel as a climate, intimate place of rest in Zakopane for the whole family (... and a dog). I am already thinking about coming back next year ...

Absolutely amazing place to visit :) I went for a weekend visit for Zakopane and stayed in this hotel. It wasn't my choice, my friends have organised the trip, but I was very pleased with the choice they've made. The room was nice and clean , so as the bathroom. We had a breakfast in the hotel which was very nice and traditional (eggs, pastries, cornflakes, coffee, tea...); Lots of food so you won't go out hungry ;) The stuff was LOVELY! Very helpful , smiley and welcoming. The hotel is 12 min walk from Krupowki, the main street! Overall great place to stay in! :)

The hotel doesn’t have air conditioning in the room. Fleas and cockroaches were in the room. Breakfast is pretty meager. Personnel do not understand English, not friendly. Parking is not convenient. No elevator. Heavy bags carried on the 4th floor. For these prices, better search, something else.

Rachel Sitarz This would have to be one of if not the WORSE place I have ever stayed at!! No sauna, constant banging and staff don't help at all! I had the cleaner try and walk in while we were sleeping to give us soap!! That should have been done before cheak in. Then they called me during our sleep to say dinner is served. I don't need to be consistently disturbed. I had to use a hair tie to close the drapes, which fell down when I tyred to close them. I had to carry all my own suitcases up the stairs with no help!! The rooms are very small and depressing. I ask about tours around town and all I received was a srug of the shoulders. I have been around the world and stayed at some 'dodgie' places, even homeless shelters are in better condition!! I would never recommend this place to on-one. So I spend another $500 approx and went to another nice hotel. I didn't even care I lost money as I was glad to be gone. I then checked my account and they took out $99 Australian for meals I didn't eat!!! Don't risk it... Don't stay here!! Even if it's free... Save your money and go somewhere else. Heeps of nice other cheap places. You were warned!!

Stayed at this hotel for two nights, it was clean and tidy and airy with lovely views of the mountains. The buffet breakfast was adequate with a good selection of ham and cheese and the bread rolls were lovely! A huge drawback was the fact that there was no lift, it meant trudging up stairs-66- to the third floor where our room was, a real effort with a suitcase. If you were disabled thie hotel is not for you as no access to the front door only steps, and no rooms on the ground floor. Close to the town and the famous ski jump which is well worth a visit, pay 3zlotys to go in and walk up to the half way point then pay 4zlotys to take the individual chair lift right to the very top, spectacular views but close your eyes on the trip back down!
