This is a cosy & compact hotel right on the main street in the centre if this beautiful town. It is clean & well run. You can walk anywhere around town from it's central location. Food wise it's not terribly exciting but that's not a big thing for me in recommending this hotel..Zakopane is stunning. You are right in the middle of it all in Hotel Sabala with no big fuss or production. You will not need your car. I loved the warm ambiance.
We love this Hotel and have stayed here before. It's location is unbeatable, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the decor is quite amazing. However, the bar and restaurant staff come across as unfriendly, rarely interacting often looking miserable. Our last night there was my birthday (62) the staff knew this and then at 8.00pm they stopped serving us and by 9..00 shut everything down. We finished our evening at the Aries Hotel across the road and the difference was immeasurable. We won't be staying at Sabala again which, is really sad.
My wife and I traveled to Zakopane through Krakow and took a long bus ride south thru the countryside. Zakopane is located in the south of Poland near the foothills of the Tatras Mountains. In the winter skiing is the king. In the summer it is more hiking the mountain area. The hotel is bigger than it looks from the front view and has many very nice features. If you are planning a trip look up the hotel on the Internet and see some of the very nice points of the interior. The wedding was wonderful and celebration was great. A perfect Irish/Polish wedding in a very nice hotel.
A lovey room, warm restaurant with excellent food and service and central to everything with its own swimming pool indoors really enjoyed our stay. Very good bathroom all mod cons and room temp was spot on and the balcony was just needed for a smoke and me tea lovely the views Arby’s to impressive as we were in the back but honest no complaints.
Stayed here in mid December, as two couples staying in Studio rooms. This is a lovely hotel with a homely and cosy feel. To summarize: Pros: Ladies on reception were very pleasant and helpful. We changed our room as we were under the impression that our room came with a balcony but apparently not all Studios have balconies, but she happily changed our room for us. One of the ladies went above and beyond helping us with booking a tour, and ordering taxis. Everything was spotlessly clean. Bed was comfortable. As is normal for Poland our bed came with extra large pillows and single duvets on a double bed. Breakfast was lovely with sausages, eggs cooked to order, and a selection of breads, cheeses, meats, salads, cereals etc. Our room on the top floor had a large bathroom, with shower and bidet (no bath). Plenty of storage space. Excellent location with some rooms overlooking the main street. Cons: As the rooms are kept lovely and warm, if you open a window be prepared some noise. Our room was ok as did not face onto the main street, but our fellow travellers were disturbed by late night revellers. There is no lift. We were on the top floor which is approx 56 steps up. OK for us as we only had hand luggage and no disabilities. As mentioned our bathroom was huge (Can't remember room number but it was 302 or 304?) It would have been great to have a surface other than under the sink to put toiletries - there was plenty of room for a small table under the sloping ceiling in there which would have been quite useful. Our booking confirmation from an agent mentioned that our room had a laptop safe. Actually there are no safes in the rooms, although there is one in reception I believe. Wifi didn't reach our room very well. All in all I would definitely stay here again. Thank you Hotel Sabala for a pleasant stay. Hope this is helpful.…
Sabala Hotel is located in the heart of the centre. This is a beautiful hotel with walking distance to everything. Typical Zakopane style hotel with beautiful wooden features and excellent views of the Ratra Mountains. Lovely and helpful reception staff. Great atmosphere and excellent restaurant. Absolutely fantastic and thoroughly enjoyable holiday. We definitely recommend this hotel if you are visiting the beautiful region of Zakopane.
Awesome hotel on main pedestrian walkway in Zakopane. Quiet rooms. Great breakfast. Definitely will come back. The outdoor balancing is great place to get a beer and people watch. The architecture is “Zakopane” wood style so very beautiful. Showers super strong water flow and plenty of hotel water. Definitely a top pick.
I will start with bad, restaurant staff not friendly at all, restaurant most of time was empty but was difficult to get any attention, specially heavy tattooed waitress obviously does not like her job. Man she work with on some shifts was only interested with talking with her on the terrace. There was young lady but I did not get her name she was professional. and pleasant to deal with On positive side reception staff was extremely helpful and friendly from moment we made reservation to last second at check out. As far I know we had one of the nieces rooms in the hotel and I would request this one again if I ever stay again.Room number 206 amazing views loved it.
The reception staff were very good and the rooms lovely, clean and cosy. However, the restaurant staff let it down. However, don't let this put you off a great hotel in a great location. We enjoyed our stay and will be returning next year.
Just spent a few days at Hotel Sabala for a Valentines/birthday treat. The hotel is ideally situated in the centre of town right next to the shops, restaurants and just a short walk to the bus stops and train station. The room was very cosy and warm considering the snow outside. The room was spacious and well equipped for our needs although the walls were a bit thin (we had noisy neighbours). Very good Swimming pool and sauna facilities it was just a shame we had no free time for a massage. The ladies on reception were very friendly and helpful. They spoke very good English and therefore were able to help us out in booking taxis to different attractions. They are a great credit to the hotel. Unfortunately the restaurant does let the hotel down a little. Food is good and breakfast buffet plentiful covering all dietary needs. There is however a but ...... The majority of staff have limited English and therefore avoided serving us, choosing to leave us waiting long periods of time. Do not eat in the restaurant if you are in a hurry. …
