Pensionat u Ani is a Hotel that unites contemporary and traditional Polish style in a modern equipped space with original regional Zakopane style and architecture – together they create an unforgettable atmosphere. The regional ambiance is reflected in every guest room. The hotel's recreational facilities, which include hot tub and garden, are designed for escape and relaxation. It is wonderfully positioned at the edge of the forest in the nature reserve directly under the Tatra Mountains. It is a perfect place for anyone who wants to escape from everyday reality and spend some time trekking within the most beautiful mountain landscapes. Both the town and the region were separated from the world by thick forests for centuries and have retained their unique architecture and live folklore. You can rest from the bustle of everyday life and regain your vigor here or you can actively spend time skiing, mountain walking and climbing, or just relax in one of the hundreds of regional Scandinavian style taverns. It's 3,800 m to the centre and famous Krupowki street. The cozy little bar and restaurant in our hotel is open every day until 22:00, or until the last guest as well.

Shame for the weather, but this cozy little pensjonat was exactly what we were after. Lovely staff, fantastic rooms - it was lovely and I couldn't complain about anything.

Thanks for such a great stay!

Edyta was very helpful with all local information, The food was good and fresh, this place is very well designed to give you the a real feel of goralski atmosphere with timber, fresh forest feel, slate tiles, comfortable beds and a very unique bathroom.

The garden outside is again gives a very private feel, giving a caressing touch with nature. All floors of the hotel are beautiful decorated, you just feel tempted to stay another day.

I stayed at 5 different locations throughout Poland, but this was the best place of all. I would highly recommend a stay at this place, easily accessible to many natural attractions around including Morskie Oko.

Location a little bit out of town, but that makes it perfect quiet spot. Taxi or buses are very cheap,so if you want to find some relaxing spot here it is. Rooms clean, spacious and tidy. Nice breakfast buffet and fantastic dinner. We stayed 4 nights and had each night something different. You can hire jacuzzi and sauna. There is also great garden at the back of the building, where you can have a fire place or barbeque.
All staff made us feel welcome and well looked after. We will be back!

We stayed here whilst on a trip to Krakow. After a two hour (cheap) bus journey we arrived at Zakopane, after a 10 min taxi ride out of Zakopane you arrive in a small village.

The Pension is a typical Alpine building and is very clean. The staff were very pleasant and helpful although there is a slight language barrier but the owner speaks good English.

Our room which had a balcony looking over the huge garden was a nice addition, fitted out all in pine makes it look like your in a pine lodge. Big comfortable bed, small fridge in your room, tv and wifi. Bathroom was big enough and in dark grey slate which looked great.

Downstairs was a good size bar room where breakfast was served, this would be my only disappointment of this great stay, the breakfast was basic and for me not enough even for a continental breakfast however it was free. Also downstairs was a sauna and hot tub which again is in a great room all pine and grey slate. You have to book the room out and the staff did a great job filling it and lighting candles and making it a great romantic moment, there is a charge for the use but it won't break the bank at all.

You can catch a bus (cheap and just look like Ford transits till you open the door and see people in there) bus stops to Zakopane are up a slight hill on the corner bend just a warning though there is no lights there so a torch would be a help for you and the bus driver. The other bus stop from Zakopane is opposite the road to the Pension. Taxis are easier but alot more money.

Overall this has to be one of the greatest places we have stayed and is already planned on one of our visits in the future. If your planning a trip to Poland and Krakow have a think about a trip to Zakopane and U Ani Pension. Everything got a 9 apart from brekkie which was about a 6. Made to feel very welcome and made to feel at home.

It's a must.

While other visitors complain about the distance from town...they should do their research. Maps are on every website. Less than 5 minutes by car...perfect for getting away from the crowded streets of Zakopane but close enough to enjoy everything it has to offer. If you walk or take buses or cabs...remember it is your choice! So here is a real review of this exceptional place.

Attention to Detail?...U Ari takes the crown. Polite service, free private parking, nice mezzanines, cozy rooms with comfortable beds, beautiful lawn area with water feature and gazebo are just a few positives. And don't forget the Private Spa with Jacuzzi and Sauna...unbelievable after a long day of hiking and travelling. The ambiance was the crowning touch...with candles, shower, and dark slate-stone on walls was relaxing and romantic. Very private, cozy atmosphere immediately inspired plans of future visits.

Stone arches, wrought iron, and pine walls emulate the local style and architecture. A decent little private bar and inspired dining room is decorated with Polish accents like furs, hand-made skis and and a bear rug on the ceiling. Even the food was enjoyable and pleasant service came with a smile and helpful attitude.

I cannot express how much this place won me over...best "Bang for the Buck" I have ever experienced!

We stayed at this gorgeous vacation spot for 9 days and could not believe how great the place is and the attention we received from all members of the staff. Prior to our trip from Canada Miss Edyta has communicated with us frequently to ensure we have booked the right rooms that would fit both our family (2 adults with 4 and 7 year olds) and 80 year old grandparents. Although its few minutes walk to the bus stop this location is spectacular. Our 80 year old grandparents were able to make the walk through the forest path so anyone else can do it as well :-) The location has gorgeous views with sunset view of Gubalowka plus great garden with outdoor fireplace and grilling. The wild blueberries grow right outside the property at the edge of the forest. The hotel itself was build by the owner, Fred with mostly stone and wood features designed by him to bring an authentic Highlander feeling. The breakfast/dinner are is great! Its located in the basement and really brings it all together with rustic feeling of chalet with wooden benches, wild game and sheep skins. There is a constant flow of international tourists from all over the Europe. Some of them have been coming there every year since its their favorite place in all of Zakopane ! The cooking is fantastic and Miss Edyta, Ania, Magda and Marta look after your every desire prepping fresh, home cooked dinners every day. Simply delicious :-)
We have traveled extensively around the world and have visited many 5 start resorts but this one definitely brings great memories and a lot of smiles. I have to say that our expectations were over exceeded and we would highly recommend this beautiful gem to anyone wanting to experience true Highlander culture and hospitality. Thank you for a fantastic vacation! Marek, Tamara, Victoria, Conrad, Henryk and Helena
