Willa u Adama is highly recommendable. It's located in Bystre district 2km above Zakopane (30min walk to the centre and train/bus station, but there are direct buses every minute for 3 zl/ 0.75 Euro, which take you there in 5min, and shops and good restaurants are around). An excellent place to stay if you prefer being not in the centre of tourist crowds, but still in the city. The house stands next to a meadow 150m away from the road, so you'll have peaceful surroundings and quiet nights with good sleep. Furnishing of the room including bathroom facilities looked very new and clean, there is a microwave, refrigerator, teamaker, dishes, TV set, toilet/shower; you can buy food nearby and have breakfast in your room. The owner Adam is very friendly, and obviously he is not only interested in making money but wants to feel his guests comfortable and quite like at home in his house. He speaks Polish, English and German. From Willa u Adama you can reach several nice hiking trails in only a few minutes walking distance. The place is close to Kuznice (start of funicular to Mt. Kasprowy wierch - if you want to go there, be sure to book tickets via internet at least 3 days in advance, otherwise you'll have to cue for at least 3-4 hours!!) and to ski lifts and the ski jumping area. Buses to Slovakia (Poprad) and beatiful lake Morskie Oko pass by, so you can just hop on (stops Nosal/Bystre). For non-expensive and good polish cuisine and pizza try restaurant "Burniawa" just at the corner of droga na Bystre/Olcza. For bad weather days, there is a swimming pool in 10min walking distance. Actually, there are no negative points to mention. The price was 1260zl/ 300 € for 2 people/2 weeks, which is excellent value.
Only if you like to stay in the very centre of tourist rushing and crowding, this might be not the place for you to stay.
If you go there and love nature, be sure to visit the Koscieliska valley (bus to Kiry), take a boat trip on river Dunajec and go hiking in Bielovodska dolina (Lysa Polana, Slovakia) and Javorova dolina (Tatranska Javorina, Slovakia - both with bus to Poprad; quiet valleys with few tourists) as well as Morskie Oko (crowded, but beautiful). Also Krakow, Wieliczka salt mine and Auschwitz memorial are within day-trip-distance.

We went there a group of 10 friends for a weekend. Cozy rooms, nice place outside for bbq or games. Around 30-40 min from centre by walk. All for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend it! 😊 Thanks Adam!

Both room and the host were wonderful! Mr. Adam's lovely; really flexible and helpful, and the room was spotless and cosy, located in a beautiful and quiet area, walking distance from the centre. Greatly enjoyed our stay and hoping to visit again soon!

Very small bathroom and small room, wifi connection was poor. Close to mountain paths and a few restaurants close by including small store. Nice host and can park the car right next to the house. far away from any other hotels so has this really off the beaten path feel, incredible views of the national park (mountains)

Excellent location near the town and the cable car to Kasprowy Wierch. Easy access to Morskie Oko. Good wifi, well-equiped extremely clean and cozy rooms. A wonderful, helpful and kind owner. A bit hard to find, within a walking distance from the town, but by far the best place to stay in Zakopane!

Very enjoyable place. The house is located approximately 30 minutes on foot from Krupowki - the main street in Zakopane, 5 minutes from the skiing slope - Nosal.
The room was small but clean and cozy equipped with a kettle, TV, small fridge, utensils, cups, and plates. There is also a small bathroom with a shower cabin.
There are several parking spaces outside but it is not easy to find the entrance to the road that leads to the house that is approximately 100m from the main road.
There is one traditional restaurant 5 minutes away if you need to grab something to eat without going to Krupowki.
The owner is very friendly and accommodating. He will make sure that your stay is as pleasant as possible.

We stayed at Willa u Adama in September 2013 (late review!) for a few nights whilst in Zakopane.

As with everything in Poland it was cheap (something like £22 a night at the time!) and for this it was a nice quaint little place on he outskirts of the town.

As mentioned in the title the room was tiny (think caravan size!) but this may have just been the room that we stayed since looking at the website pictures there appear to be some larger rooms.

However the room was really cosy & nicely decorated much like a chalet with wood everywhere!

The only slight downside is that we didn't realise that it was so far out of town, being probably a 30-40 minute walk into the centre of Zakopane. There are however a couple of little restaurants / bar / cafes within walking distance so we would often visit the town in the day after walking in the Tatras & then just have an evening meal in one of the local places.

We did have a bit of a problem trying to find the place on arrival though as arriving on foot armed with just a printed Google map it showed Adama as being in the middle of a field! We managed to ask in a local bar & they eventually realised where it was and called the owner to come meet us as he was out at the time. This was likely bad luck though & when he arrived to greet us he was apologetic.

We'd missed the turning as the accommodation was down a track off the main road with no signs pointing to it, so bear this in mind if arriving on foot and not by taxi.

All in all a good stay though & we would likely stay again if we are ever back in Zakopane!

We enjoyed our stay here. The place is a bit outside of the center of town - about a 20 mn walk - we walked it often, and a few times drove and parked in the city. It's wedged in between several stores on the main street but outside of town; you go down an unpaved road to get to the apartment, so even though it's close to the main street it's still relatively quiet. Close to several small supermarkets. The house is wooden, and there are many wooden elements in the bedrooms, gives a friendly feel. The double bed was not very comfortable but the single beds were fine. Wifi worked well.We stayed in a family room which was nice for 5 people - 2 rooms, 2 fridges, microwave, bathroom, plenty of space. There were dishes and a fridge which was great, but there was no sink except in the bathroom which meant we had to do the dishes in the bathroom! Not too convenient or hygienic. The owner was helpful in orienting us in the area. Good value for money.
