Mercure Krakow Stare Miasto delights guests with its inviting atmosphere, modern decor, and cozy ambience, where festive decorations and a vibrant bar scene are highly praised. Nestled in a prime location, the hotel garners appreciation for its proximity to key attractions and transport links. When we first saw this hotel we were unsure, it looked too good to be true. But nevertheless we booked and when we arrived I was shocked at how spectacular the hotel is.

The art decor around the hotel is breathtaking and it’s a part of history that everyone should see. The elevators to the floors are key card operated so it’s safer but you are able to get to all floors. The rooms have everything you could want from a hotel room. The bathroom was gorgeous and very clinical. The maids are kind and helpful, even checking to make sure you want your towels changed and linen.

The hotel is across the road from the Galleria Krakowska shopping mall which has everything you can want or need in one place.

Within the hotel there are breakfast facilities at an extra cost that is a buffet and is fantastic with waffles, pastries and hot breakfast. Not to mention lots of hot drink and cold drink options.

100% would recommend and stay here again.

My husband booked 4 nights, 2 double rooms at Mecure Stare Miasto for 4 of us (2 couples) to visit Krakow to celebrate my 40th birthday. We stayed at the hotel between 14th & 18th Feb 2020. The hotel staff left a card, sweet treats & a personalised message on the full length mirror to wish me a happy 40th birthday....which was a lovely touch, and was much appreciated.

We stayed in rooms 309 & 311, which were near to the lobby & lift on floor 3 overlooking the front of the hotel & the Galaria Krakowska (large shopping mall). We'd requested the 2 rooms were close to each other in advance of our stay, and were given rooms next door to each other. The rooms were very well decorated, equipped well & were very peaceful. The beds were really comfortable.

The hotel facilities, food, drink & its location were all excellent. The staff were really friendly and helpful....they booked the Salt Mine tour for us (139 zloty per person with door to door pick up & drop off) and also arranged our airport taxi, brought fresh omelettes to our table that we ordered as part of breakfast each day & served us local drinks from the bar. 2 of us enjoyed the recommendation from the bar man - a locally produced vodka with apple juice.

We enjoyed the short walk (10 mins leisurely pace) to & from the main square each day, taking a few different routes between the hotel and main square, each time finding new places to look at, shop in or simply look at. We chose to eat our evening meals and have drinks on or around (down side streets) off the main square before returning for a drink from the hotel bar & relax in the lounge areas before going to bed. The hotel lounge areas are comfortable and the bar was open until 1am.

During our stay in Krakow we did an electric buggy around the city, visited the Salt Mines and also Auschwitz and Birkenau. Krakow is a beautiful city & we hope to return here again soon!

We'd definitely book to stay at Mecure Stare Miasto

I stay very often in Mercure Stare Miasto and have to say that both location of the hotel and staff are excellent! Feels like home :)

Definitely a perfect choice if you stay for business or leisure.

I never took the time to leave a comment here, but think it is the proper moment as I came back to the Mercure last week, during the « coronavirus times » and want to share my experience, just to let you know that you can travel and stay safe there without any, really any problem.

The hotel is perfectly managing the health situation: staff wearing masks, rooms completely disinfected, new room service procedures (room cleaned upon request and while you are not in the room), disinfectant hand gel in many key locations and special breakfast service (can also be served in room, high quality products as usual - even the cutlery comes protected in an envelop!).

I was just missing the nice and funny drawings which are usually made on the mirrors in the lift :)

Merci to the staff and see you soon!

Lovely hotel, decor is on point, clean and friendly staff. Breakfast was a help yourself buffet and delicious. Hotel has a bar and resteraunt too. Hotel was situated within walking distance to the main square so we used no taxis whilst there. Id recommend downloading uber for airport transfers etc as booking through the hotel was 90 zloty, and only 35 through uber. Ice skating rink is also across the road for 5 zloty per person! Would highly recommend this hotel and would stay again!!

We have been going to Krakow annually since 2011. This is the first time we have stayed at this hotel and will definitely be staying for our next trip.
The hotel is very modern and on arrival, very welcoming. Easy check in and a nice welcome platter in our room. Little touches that make a difference.
The room was very clean, comfortable bed and large tv. Good facilities and wifi.
All you need is there.
Our only (very slight gripe-you are in Poland)!! was that all we were able to watch on TV was CNN or FRENCH NEWS (fortunately in english). No BBC World News.
Breakfast was very good. Our last two days the restaurant was closed because of the coronavirus so we were given room service for breakfast which still gave all of our choices, although it was stated it would be a restricted menu, for us, it was no different to eating downstairs.
A nice gesture of fruit and cake brought on the evening of my husbands birthday which had to be spent in our room.
All of the staff were very friendly and helpful at all times.
We will be back.

Although only a short stay (4 nights) we found the hotel has a lot going for it. The staff from Reception to Dining ensured were very accommodating and have a good command of the English language, although some difficulties encountered with Australian.

Room - Comfortable and clean with a sizeable ensuite
Restaurant - Food and service of high standard
Location - Short walk to the, old part of the city, retail complex and public transport (bus, tram and rail)

I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone seeking accommodation in Krakow

We spent 5 nights in a suite in this lovely hotel in March and I can highly recommend same for location, quality of the rooms and service

We stayed on a B & B basis and the breakfast was superb with a great selection to choose from and offered excellent value, we booked in advance and prepaid but had cancellation also and the rate was fantastic. There were excellent covid measures in place during our stay

Our suite was spotless and very quiet. The hotel is located about a 10/15 minute walk to the main square and a 5 minute walk to the main train station which is ideal for the train to and from the airport or to the Salt Mines at a very cheap option. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Perfect location in a nice quiet area in lovely Krakow. Thank you all for a lovely stay from us in Ireland

We have just got back from a 4 night stay here as a couple. Firstly, the location is fantastic, it’s a very short 5/10 minute walk to the market square and the tram stops just outside the hotel. Our double room was immaculate on arrival, spacious and exactly what we’d hoped for when booking. There are USB sockets either side of the bed (so handy!). The bathroom was a good size and had a lovely waterfall shower head along with a normal shower head just below. The room felt new and fresh. It was almost soundproof, you couldn’t hear anything outside of your room. The staff are super friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We forgot a plug adapter and the reception staff kindly leant one to us. It really made our stay having this lovely hotel/room to return to each night. Great value for what we paid. We would definitely recommend and we will certainly be booking here again should we return to Krakow. Thank you for a lovely stay!

It's my second stay at this hotel and both times I really enjoyed my stay.
We checked in with a very professional welcome by Tomasz (who I remembered from my previous stay since he helped us solve some problems) who gave us the key to a really nice Privilege Room overlooking the inner courtyard. I appreciated the spotless, spacious and modern room.

There are some Covid procedures introduced at the hotel and I felt like they were implemented quite well. The first day I was surprised that our room wasn't made up, but it is explained in a leaflet on the nightstand that clean towels and so on are available on request, so it's not the end of the world. Another precaution is during the breakfast, the buffet is not self service but the staff prepares the dishes for you at the counter. It's not easy but they did a good job and were relatively fast considering all the constraints. I did hear some guests complain that they had to wait during rush hour, but in my opinion this is something which should be taken into account and it's unfair to compare it to pre-covid times.

All in all I had a really good stay, but if I had to suggest an area for improvement, it would be the customer interaction of the restaurant. We went there for a drink on Friday evening at 11pm. Rather than being approached by the waiter and restaurant manager who could have told us the restaurant was closed, we stood there waiting to be seated for some time. When we approached the waiter at the bar, we received a quite rude reply saying they've been closed for over 30 minutes. Thinking back to my visit 6 months ago, the restaurant was also not the shining aspect of that visit.

This was our rearranged trip to Krakow with our original plans being cancelled due to the pandemic. After a lot of consideration we chose the Mercure Krakow Stare Miasto and we are so glad we did. The hotel is well situated in Krakow and is within an easy walk of the main square and other attractions. The hotel is across the road from a large major shopping centre, which also has the main station located within it and has a direct link to the airport.
The hotel is fairly new and therefore is very modern in its looks. Our room was a standard double on the 3rd floor which was very spacious and comfortable with all the amenities you require and it looked onto the main road, but we did not experience any problems with noise.
We booked a bed and breakfast tariff and breakfast was very good with an ample choice of hot or cold food.
The staff were very accommodating and will help you with any queries or issues you may have and will also help with information on getting around Krakow and places to visit.
If you like to have a quiet night cap before retiring to bed, then they have a very nice comfortable bar/restaurant on site but prices are a little higher than other places however we did find a nice quiet bar around the corner which suited us called KORBA Piwo Kawiarnia and the prices were much more reasonable .
Overall this hotel is excellent and we highly recommend it. If we return to Krakow in the future, then we would not hesitate to stop here again.

Dear Lorraine, Thank you for choosing to stay with us. We are looking forward to welcoming you very soon. As far as renting mobility scooters is concerned we do not offer such services, but there are several companies that offer such service in Kraków. Please contact us directly if you need any assistance with arranging the rental. Storing the scooter during your stay will be possible, unless the scooter proves to be much bigger than a typical one.
