"Ekosamotnia" is a building of a former pottery shop that has recently been adapted into a guesthouse. The building has been entirely reconstructed, fitted out with modern installations, while preserving its intimate, cosy "feel” of a creative venue. The interiors have been arranged in a modern, yet comfortable and stylish manner. There are six comfortable, double rooms with broad, king-size beds and beautiful bathrooms and one single room in the guesthouse. An extra bed for a child can be added in larger rooms. Some rooms have wooden terraces. All windows offer beautiful views to the nature of the garden or the forest. There are no visible neighbours of the guesthouse. Guests are welcome to use garages, a spacious dining room with a large chimney and enjoy the exhibition of the Husarski family art works, a family room and a leisure space with a library at the attic, a winter garden with a pond view. There are numerous gazebos, one featuring a fireplace and barbecue, bonfire areas, many benches to perch on and contemplate nature, a small, grass tennis course in the surroundings of the guesthouse.

Can't believe we found this lovely little gem, so close to the centre of Krakow but right in the middle of nature. This home-from-home small hotel is in beautiful peaceful surroundings, right on the edge of a forest, which you can access for walks or cycle rides. The hotel's large gardens are where much of the fruit and veg used in the hotel kitchens is grown. The most noise you will encounter is the owl hooting in the middle of the night! Despite this, Krakow city centre is only around a 15 minute taxi ride. Taxis are cheap and the hotel will call one for you. You can easily find taxis around the main square to come back, but take the hotel's leaflet with you as Polish names can be hard to pronounce! I cannot fault the hospitality or the comfort in any way (thank you Maciej and team!). The rooms are very clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. Each room has a different theme. I suppose if I had one criticism it would be that I would prefer a stand up shower rather than a bath, but other than that the bathroom was lovely. Communal areas are well designed. There are books and games for guests' use, and lots of artwork and information about the interesting history of the house (which once belonged to an artist). Breakfast has to be one of the best I've had - if anything there was TOO much choice and I regretted not being able to eat it all! Cheese, meats, salads, homemade preserves and cakes, yogurts, jellies, and fresh eggs (laid by the hens next door), all served in wonderful surroundings overlooking the large fish pond. We ate dinner twice during our stay which was just as delicious and included home made soup, Polish dumplings, chicken with wild mushrooms, and freshly made cake. All in all, Ekosamotnia was the perfect base for our first visit to Poland. My only regret is that we only had five days there and could have easily spent longer, especially to go on some more walks and explore the local area. A good excuse to go back one day!

Just got back from a fantastic stay at this magical place. Just outside the center of Kraków this quiet, unique and artistic recidence is placed. And what a hidden gem! We were the only guests, and the two young people working here got out of their way to make us feel comfortable. We were served delicious homemade lunch when we arrived. Amazing breakfast with cheese, meat, salats, eggs, bread, homemade cake etc were served in our cottage every morning. My friend had her birthday during our stay and she even got her own cake and a gift from the staff! The cottage is two hundred years old and is the most charming place with soul and heart. The art made by former residents made it quite unique. Wiev to the beautiful surrounding- the forrest, garden and main building. We can just imagine how this place must be during spring and summer. A taxi to the old town is cheap and easy, so the vacation brought us both peace, quiet and walks in the forrest at Ekosamotnia and Kraków’s old charm, fine dining, Jazz bar etc. A perfect stay! We highly recommend this place and will return...(for sure).

This place is so amazing in every single little details. We book the house for one day with breakfast, unfortunately we had to earlier our flight so we get to stay couple of hours only. As there good hospitality, they arrange for us very delicious lunch instead of the breakfast. Welcoming cakes and fruit. Very friendly stuff who's show as the beautiful arts, explaining the unique stories for the art collections. If you're looking for home style, warmth & quite place, this one is perfect for that. Love it.

This is an amazing place! The rooms are gracious and the folks who run this place, more so. Majcieck and Kristina (I'm sure I'm spelling their names wrong, sorry) were beyond helpful with every question and every need. Art is everywhere. The breakfast was far above and beyond what I've ever experienced anywhere else, with a variety of fruits, cheeses, meats, home cooked items, eggs, tarts, deserts, etc. etc. The location is close to Krakow, but out far enough to be quiet. Nestled in woods, with great hikes in nature just outside the city. It is a very romantic place too!

Family owned property located right next to the woods and the zoo. A true escape from the busy working day just 10 min away from the city center. The builders of the house were famous clay artists and their beautiful art pieces are decorating the house and the gardens. The chiose and the quality of the breakfast comparable to some posh healty food bar with the far better atmosphere! Definitly a place to visit.

This hotel is so well put together that it genuinely makes you feel good to be there. The attention to detail of the staff, the location, the room and bathroom decor all made me regret that I only had one day to spend there. The breakfast was fantastic and an experience onto itself. It is slightly off the beaten track, but for me personally this was more of a positive than a negative. If I'm ever back in Krakow I will gladly return to this place.

Booked on booking due to review score and not disappointed. Beautifully appointed rooms and attentive staff, all set in a quite rural location. As for the breakfast.... WOW, incredible selection. Would highly recommend, I will visit again!

The room was very clean but had a unique feeling with art works and a great old fashioned style bath. The staff tried really hard to please and make me feel comfortable but it had the opposite effect and felt a bit stifling. The speed of service was too quick and so it felt like they wanted me to hurry up. There is no bar and it took a bit of persuading to get a beer. Stayed for dinner -dont do it!!. On reflection, not my cup of tea and I would describe the experience as eerie. The place is out of the way so perfect if you're looking for peace and quiet.

By any measure this is a lovely place and reasonably priced for the standard of service we received. The building is pretty and has everything you'd need for a nice relaxing stay. The place is out of town but taxis get you in, in about 20 minutes. Slight issues with some taxi drivers finding the place so be armed with maps etc. We had a meal on first night which was delicious and in ridiculous quantity. Our only slight issue was that the staff could be a little over attentive and it can come across as a little stuffy and fussy. Absolutely lovely while they do it but it got a little uncomfortable having to constantly turn down offers/suggestions etc. We had to also tell them what time we were going to come down for breakfast, unnecessarily it seemed as service could be at any time. Why not give a time frame and let us come down when we wanted? Overall a lovely stay and I'd highly recommend this accommodation but they need to relax a bit on the over service. To be fair if you're complaining about that though it's obviously a great place
