Detailed Reviews
On a recent city break to Krakow, me and my friend were looking for a cheap, well located hotel which offered breakfast and found that Kosmopolita seemed to fit the bill for what we wanted.
We knew that we would only be spending time at the hotel to sleep and have breakfast so weren’t too bothered about it being basic.
Location
Location was around a 15-20 minute walk from the main square and had a lot of shops, transport etc around the hotel. However we mostly used taxis to and from the hotel which we found cheap and staff also organised if we asked them. It is easy to miss the hotel as quite inconspicuous and does not stand out (the taxi driver on our first night struggled to find it).
Staff
I’m surprised to read the other reviews of unpleasant staff as staff we encountered were all pleasant and helpful. We arrived into Krakow around 8.30pm/9.00pm on our first evening and as we had informed them prior they kept the reception open until we arrived so somebody would be there to greet us. Staff also provided us with keys for the building/hotel to come and go later at night when reception were not available which was welcome (as we did want to enjoy Krakow’s nightlife) and was easy to use.
Rooms
Rooms were basic but clean with a good sized bathroom, 2 single beds (one in front of the other instead of side by side which is a first for us!) a table and chair and a small tv. My friend (who is a light sleeper) said there was a little bit of noise during the night/early morning but nothing to disturb her too much.
Breakfast
To say we paid so little for our stay, we were surprised at the selection at breakfast. As well as a wide selection of cold items such as meats, pastries, cakes, cheeses, boiled eggs, breads etc there was also a toaster and 1-2 hot items such as scrambled eggs. There were also numerous juices as well as coffee and a selection of teas. Staff also kept coming out to replace/replenish items.
Overall
Would stay here again if visiting Krakow mainly due to the price and location and would recommend to others looking for a cheap basic clean hotel room with breakfast.

Very noise and busy street outside the window. No chance to sleep with open windows. Room clean and bathroom as well. No cold water in the morning (probably temporarily) means no shower to be taken. Rich continental breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff. Great location.

Dear fidel_pl, we are very gratefull for Your kind words, and also very sorry for the inconvenience with the noisy street. Unfortunately it is quite common in hotels in the central area. If it is only possible our Staff is happy to change the room to more quite side so please feel free to speak with us about any problems You might have. Best regards, Kosmopolita's STaff

It is located about ten minutes walk from the train and bus station (which is accessed from a large shopping mall attached to the first) and the same distance from the historic center of Krakow.
The bus (no.18) passes right under the structure.
Upon arrival, you will be given the key that you will always have to bring with you, as the reception is only open from 8am to 8pm.
My triple was spacious and bright, with a nice ensuite bathroom; shower shampoo provided via dispenser.
Breakfast much more salty than sweet, but there was something for us Italians (every other day croissants, cakes, waffles etc. in addition to yogurt, cereals, juices, jams and tea always available); acceptable coffee and cappuccino from the machine in the breakfast room.
The thing I would improve is the cleaning of the room, because when they asked for it to be redone or changed the shower towels without cleaning or, on the contrary, made the beds without changing the towels (but always cleaning very briefly...).
At least, every day they left three bottles of water in the room, but there was the possibility to fill their own from the dispensers present at the reception or on the floors.
In short, in my opinion it is a good solution to visit Krakow without spending a fortune and, anyway, staying in a more than dignified way!

Much like a review below, the staff were absolutely appalling. Hands down the weirdest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Stayed here two nights with my parents, I’d bought this as a Christmas present and to spend time together. Krakow is beautiful so don’t let this review put you off visiting this friendly city, just avoid this hotel. This is quite boring and long but I honestly believe it’s the weirdest treatment I’ve ever been given a hotel.
We arrived and checked in, the rooms were not as pictured (as a lot of other reviews point out). On my first evening I accidentally spilt a drink in my bedroom, an effervescent multi-vitamin tablet. I’m quite severely vitamin deficient so need to have one every day. Clumsy of me perhaps. I cleaned it up with a towel. The next day I received a note through the door saying I’d need to give them £25 for a new towel and all new bedding (there was the tiniest bit on the sheets as I’d knocked it off the bedside table). Obviously thinking it was a mistake I spoke to reception and explained it was a drink and it’d come out in the wash for sure. They said okay “we thought it was maybe a tropical cream or fake tan”. As one of the palest people on Earth this is very odd. But they said fine, she’d speak to the hotel manager and it should be fine. On check out the next day, its immediately demanded I hand over £25 or we wouldn’t be able to check out. By this point two further members of staff had been placed outside the reception door to intimidate us into not leaving. I explained again it was a drink and what type of drink, not to mention one of my parents had seen me do it and also tried to tell them. At this point the receptionist starts to accuse me of “soiling sheets” and that it is “clearly urine”. If my urine was that bright I’d have many other worries beside this poor hotel. My parents, who have various medical issues and were until this point enjoying the city immensely, were incredibly embarrassed by this ongoing saga and paid up in order to get out as they no longer felt safe. At one point she was waving the towel around daring us to smell it (odd right?), which we did and once again (you guessed it) confirmed it was orange. Absolutely baffling odd experience.
Frankly, I’m sorry I ever skimped on a cheap hotel and took them there. The staff were intimidating and rude, to the point of being inappropriate. I’d really say listen to this review and the previous one and do not stay here. Pay a little more and stay someone nicer and closer to the main square. We saw so many nice ones that were reasonably priced. Krakow is amazing, the people awesome and the history is fascinating.

Dear Sir, We have expected a negative opinion from You, because our farewell wasn't pleasant. Unfortunately it is happen very often when our Guest have to pay for some destroy. Usually then the review is not flattering. We have taken dirty towels and bedding from Your room to our laundry service during your stay. In the same day we recived information that was imposible to wash that stains. We have to take all things to cassation. This is the reason why You had to pay for that. We are not agree with your description of that situation. You have changed Your mind many times what kind of stains were there. Firstly you have told the receptionist that it was an orrange juice, then you have told that it was some vitamine. Unfortunately we couldn`trust You. Of course You have right to Your opinion about our staff, but we have right to our opinion and to to defend our good name. We are regred that Your review was based on one negative event. We appreciate reviews based on the whole stay and diferent places and people (breakfast, room service etc.) Anyway thank you for Your stay and we wish You all the best. Best regards, Anna Furgał

We have just checked out of this hotel this evening as we couldn’t bare to stay another night and we only arrived yesterday lunchtime!
Sadly this isn’t entirely the fault of the hotel as I had booked this through Travelzoo with a company called Bestonlineholidays…they certainly weren’t that! Anyway to go back to the reason why my husband and I had to leave this hotel is it is just so uncomfortable…we were booked into a room with two single beds, even though I had requested a double bed and it was just like being in a dorm in a hostel. The beds didn’t even have proper mattresses or pillows and not even a comfortable headboard to rest your head up against if you needed to read. There is no lounge or bar area in this so called hotel so you couldn’t escape the room if you wanted to.
The bathroom had seen better days with a huge crack in the sink and a radiator that was so high up the wall that you had to stand on the toilet to put your wet towel on to it.
On a positive note the staff on our arrival were very helpful with directions and ordering us a taxi and the location isn’t too far from The Main Square so my advice is… save your pennies and book a hotel that suits your needs but this hotel is really only suited to the younger generation who can sleep anywhere!!

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights recently. She had booked it for us as a Christmas present. Our arrival wasn't until after midnight but the hotel had made arrangements for us to gain entry into the property and, subsequently, or room, as the reception closes at 8pm. This went without a hitch.
The room was basic, but very comfortable and clean with very adequate bathroom facilities. The security throughout was excellent.
Breakfast was buffet style, with a good selection.
The hotel location is very good as it's a 15 minute stroll to the Old Town Square and there are multiple excellent restaurants nearby.
The room was well attended to throughout our stay and, on the morning of our departure, the staff left us packed breakfasts due to the 03.30 pick up time. This was greatly appreciated.
At all times, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
I would recommend this accommodation to those who wish to visit this beautiful city without any frills.

Hotel in a good position in relation to the central square, reachable in less than ten minutes on foot.
When we arrived the quadruple room, which was very large, was quite cold. The radiators were on minimum and it remained not exactly warm until late at night, even though we had brought the temperature to the maximum, but it was -6 degrees outside.
The furnishings are a few years old, but are in good condition, as is the bathroom. The towels were changed regularly as well as the tidying up of the room and the replacement of water, coffee and milk.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
The only really negative thing is the almost total lack of sweets at breakfast.
I can understand Northern European habits, but the hotel is full of Italians and something more could be done. There is only one sort of donut and one morning there were butter croissants. For the rest, cured meats, cheeses, pickles, tomatoes, vegetables and eggs.
More soundproofing of the walls wouldn't be bad.

Three night stay here with friends.
Located about a 10-15 minute walk from the main square and 5 minutes from a couple of tram stops. Trams are £0.40 for 20 mins, £1:00 and hour or there are 24, 48 and 72hr tickets available. This was so central we only used the tram to get to Schindlers Museum.
We didn’t pay for the upgraded room and what we had was just great.
Large room, large shower with pipping hot water, double bed, tv, fan and tea/coffee making facilities.
Breakfast had an extensive menu. Cereals, meat, cheese, pate, fish, salad, yogurts and fruit all available with juices, tea and coffee. Served 07:30 to 10:30 and a pack up available if you had an early tour/start.
Cold water refill points.
Friendly receptionists and breakfast team.
Why pay more when this was just great.

+1
I stayed at the Kosmopolita for three days: the hotel is in an excellent location, a stone's throw from the centre, offers an international breakfast and overnight stay in welcoming rooms.
The staff is kind and helpful: thanks to them I was able to organize the visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau after the Italian agency I had contacted canceled the tour with one day's notice...
Strong points of the hotel: availability
friendly staff, quiet, good price.
Rooms: there are two single beds, a spacious wardrobe, desk, mirror and a bathroom with amenities (there is also a hair dryer); Towels and soaps are also provided.
Important details: Since they overlook the street, the rooms can be a little noisy.

I think you must ask at hotel because it is possible that the reception is close.
Loads of different eating places, Hard rock cafe, KFC, Mcdonalds, pizza.
Dear Sirs,
From the railway station Kraków Główny: from Krakow Main Railway station, go via the Galeria Krakowska shopping mall in the direction of Pawia Street. Then take Kurniki and Filipa Street (approx. 10 minutes on foot).
