Detailed Reviews
Boutique hotel tucked away just off a Main Street but you cannot hear traffic nor trams, it is an oasis of calm in the busy tourist hotspot of Krakow. Room furnishings are luxurious and comfortable, and the bathroom is very well appointed. Breakfast is served in a quirky underground room and is to a high standard, with a good selection of fresh buffet items and individually prepared egg dishes and tea or coffee as well. Staff were very helpful in the hotel and in providing advice about what to see and do. A great choice when staying in Krakow.

What a fantastic hotel, the staff are friendly and go out of their way to help, they really are quite brilliant. Our plane was diverted and we arrived two hours later than expected, but the taxi we had ordered via the hotel was still there waiting for us, now that really is service. Our room was gorgeous, a little "mini" suite, with air conditioning, which given it was 35c was a real godsend. The breakfasts are plentiful to say the least, a fantastic aray of cheese, meats, fruit, pastries, yogurts etc etc and they will also cook eggs for you, I can recommend the scrambled eggs. The old town and all the sites are within a 5 minute walk and there is a tram stop just across the road. This really was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at.

+1
Luckily we decided against booking a hotel on the main square and picked the Hotel Pugetow – a quiet little oasis only 5 minutes’ walk from the old town and main touristy bits.
It’s small and elegant and a refreshing change from the major hotel chains. The unassuming entrance makes it feel like your entering someone’s house instead of a hotel.
Staff are all very welcoming, helpful and on hand to give useful tips on where to visit and eat.
Breakfast selection is fresh and plenty of it and the ever smiling waitress is on hand to provide freshly made scrambled eggs and coffee.
We stayed in Room 2 which is actually a small apartment with ensuite bedroom and sitting room. It was comfortable, spacious and spotlessly clean. Bear in mind it’s on the ground floor looking onto the car park but as it’s double glazed we never heard a thing. Central heating and air conditioning are controllable locally and Wi-Fi is available in all rooms.
The perfect choice for those who want to be close to the main attractions but not kept awake all night by them.

We spent the first 3 nights of our break at the Antique Apartments on Szczepanska Street. However, they could not accommodate us for the 4th night so we booked in at the Pugetow after finding it on booking.com.
Well, we were delighted with this place. It is tucked off Starowislna, one of the main thoroughfares between the Old Town and Kazmierz, the Jewish quarter. After the architectural delights of the Old Town, this area is quite grubby and down at heel, but stepping inside the Pugetow is a delight. It has been refurbished to an excellent standard and exudes charm all the way.
We were greeted by a smiley little chap who informed us our room was not quite ready for us, but that we could leave our bags and they would see to them. This we did, and headed off for an explore around the slightly further afield, largely tourist-free former ghetto district of Podgorze, which lies about a mile walk from the hotel, over the water beyond Kazimierz. There are several interesting monuments here, including Heroes Square, scene of the final liquidation in 1943, and Pharmacy Under the Eagles, now an exhibition about the ghetto, which I would recommend calling into first to get the history of the area. We found a nice little coffee bar on the junction of Jozefinska and Piwna where we recharged our batteries before we walked about another mile beyond Podgorze to the former site of Plasow concentration camp, then caught the number 13 tram right back into Kazimierz.
It has to be said that the buildings and surroundings in these areas are quite scruffy and in desperate need of TLC, but somehow it adds to the atmosphere.
After a pit-stop in a quirky little bar on Nowy square, we headed back to the hotel where, true to form our luggage had been taken to our room.
Our room, apartment 4, was a suite with small entrance foyer, a sitting area and bedroom with en-suite shower room. The furnishings and decor are absolutely spot on for the style of the building, and all the little touches are provided, from fluffy robes and slippers to quality toiletries and shoe shine. Not only is there under-floor heating in the shower room, but there is also a heated mirror to stop it steaming up. Genius!
Breakfast is served in the beautiful, vaulted dining room in the basement, next to reception. Again, quality is evident in the presentation of the food and the surroundings. The food is continental, buffet style, but offers a wonderful selection of fruits, cheeses and cold meats, cereals, breads, preserves, etc, along with deliciously strong coffee.
We were sorry to leave, but when the time came, we were able to jump on a number 13 tram at a stop opposite the hotel entrance, which took us right to the train station for our return journey to the airport.

The Hotel Pugetow's best asset is their wonderful staff. They arranged tours and dinner reservations for us and even loaned us money to pay the taxi from the train station when we couldn't find tthe ATM (which we found the next morning right across the street).
The rooms are beautifully decorated and very clean. We were upgraded to a suite, which was huge.
The breakfast was very good in the charming breakfast cellar.
Not mentioned by other reveiwers - The Hotel Pugetow is on the main street between the Market Square and the Jewish Quarter. It turned out to be a convenient location to visit both, taking less than 10 minutes walk in either direction. However, the area looks a bit rough. I wouldn't stay in a US area that looked like this, but our guide assured us it was safe, and Poles on the street did not seem concerned. The hotel sits back off the street near a parking lot used by a nearby business. There was some noise from people coming to work in the morning. There was a lot of noise coming from the restaurant next door, which was about 10 feet away from my bed.
We had a wonderful weekend in Krakow and would recommend the hotel Pugetow, but keep in mind that it can be noisy and the immediate vicinity looks a little rough.

I visited Krakow in November 2007 for a weekend break and was blown away by the service at Hotel Pugetow. We availed of the hotel's driver to and from the airport and were glad we made that move. Not only was the driver waiting for us when we arrived, but he waited while we stood in the queue for the ATM and drove us directly to our hotel and was very friendly. When we went to pay him we didn't have the exact change as we had just extracted larger bills from the ATM and there was no change in the hotel. But the driver went and go change from a shop nearby for us while we went inside and were given a coffee by the lovely staff at the hotel. (In fairness, the driver should have had change for us, but the fact that we was so obliging to us and sorted the situation quickly made it all ok). Our room wasn't ready upon our arrival (we were very early) so we were given coffee by the staff and they talked up through our plans for the weekend, offering advice on restaurants and things to do. They gave up brochures and maps as well as vouchers for discount meals.
When our room was ready it was more than I could have asked for. It was extremely spacious and included every amenity you could ask for. We had a mini bar which they did not charge us for the use of, a satallite tv, heated bathroom floors, his and hers bathrobes and the whole room was decorated at a very high standard.
Breakfast was wonderful each morning. The atmospher of the hotel was very cozy and inviting and it was more than another large chain hotel. It really made the whole weekend what it was.
The location of the hotel was wonderful as well.
Every time I go back to Krakow this will be the place I stay!

This is a wonderful little boutique hotel. Warm and cosy, it transfers you into a bygone era, without compromising on cleanliness and spiffy-ness. The staff were nice. The reservation team gave us a family room which had an additional bed next to our room.
The positives:
1. Cute and cosy boutique hotel
2. Nice location. A few mins walkto the old town
3. Supermarket and Kebab joint nearby
4. Very clean and well maintained
5. Despite having a few rooms, had a buffet breakfast in which you could order eggs (omlette, sunny side up etc.)
6. Atmospheric cellar area for breakfast and small reception
No real negatives but only the minor drawbacks of a small hotel - no dining area, mingling area where you could hang around and mingle with the guests and no room service (cant expect it though).

We loved this place! Quiet, clean, perfect location, lovely staff, secure parking, in room safe, unique historic building. Lots of great details, the bathroom even had heated floors. Would definitely stay her again. I only wish I was more hungry at breakfast, nice display each morning in an amazing room in the basement. Beautiful brick room. They did a fabulous job preserving this building.

We spent 8 nights in this charming hotel. We had a very comfortable suite on the first floor. It was elegantly decorated, spacious, and comfortable. It was also clean and quiet.
The location was excellent, since it was close to both the Old Town and the Jewish Quarter. There were lots of options for breakfast. The service was excellent. The staff were always kind, helpful, and courteous. This is a hotel I would be happy to go back to.

I arrived in Krakow by train in the pouring rain and debated whether I should walk to the hotel or not. It was an easy (but wet) 15-20 minute walk to Hotel Pugetow and when I arrived, it was like stepping into a warm, gracious home - the person who greeted me offered me a hot drink and help with my wet luggage and I immediately felt comfortable and cared for. Hotel Pugetow is small with only a few rooms and I really enjoyed not having to deal with a crowd at breakfast (which was in a beautiful brick room). My single room was small but very comfortable with a good-sized bathroom. The only tiny negative comment I could make is that I could sometimes hear the people in the room next to mine but it was really no problem at all. I appreciated very much the bottles of water left in my room each day and the helpfulness of the English-speaking staff. The location was fantastic - a quick walk to the Planty and the main square in one direction and a quick walk to the Jewish Quarter in the other direction. There is plenty of public transportation but I walked everywhere I needed to go. If I am fortunate enough to return to Krakow, I would be delighted to stay at Hotel Pugetow again!

Yes there's a hairdryer fixed to the wall in the bathroom
Unfortunately, there is no lift . The building is historic and entered in the register of monuments so the instalation of lift was not possible. The stairs can be quite steep for people who have difficulty in climbing up stairs.
Best regards
