Overall a nice hostel in a good location in Krakow. Once you traverse the many steps you will find the lobby and reception area of the hostel. The lobby area is a decent size and is co-located with reception. The reception is friendly and the staff is very helpful in providing information about the area and what to do and see. For purchase, you will find various beverages, candy, and all your travel essentials such as toothpaste, travel adapters and the like. The lobby is also the location to three of the toilets on that side of the hostel. Going towards the dorm rooms you will find an additional toilet and shower as well as the kitchen. The kitchen is small but functional. The dorm rooms are large and have a good amount of space for luggage and odds and ends without encroaching too much on the space of others. The lockers are a good size that could fit a carryon and a backpack with some maneuvering. The beds are decently comfortable, have a light and power outlet as well as a privacy curtain. The curtain is a bit short and doesn’t provide full coverage. Continue down the hall you will find additional showers with sinks that were generally kept pretty clean. On the other side of the lobby you will find an additional seating area that boasts a coffee bar, although it was not open for the duration of this visit. Additional dorm rooms as well as showers and toilets can also be found in this area. The stay here was relatively comfortable and worry free. Everything was clean, the staff very helpful, and good Wi-Fi. Will definitely consider staying here again the next time in the area.

Hi! Thank you so much for your kind words. We really appreciate you taking the time out to share your experience with us. We’re so happy you loved the location, the staff, and the service of our hostel. By the way, the coffee bar is open every day from 7:30 am till 10:00 am. We mainly serve breakfasts there. We can’t wait to have you back at our hostel! Sincerely, Lorf Hostels Team

My battery was low so instead of booking via Booking.com I figured I’ll just pay at the hostel (should be better for the hostel, no commission etc). To my surprise I had to pay MORE + pay for the towel... it’s crazy that you don’t even get the tea/coffee for free and pay the price similar to the one I paid in Singapore (for much better standard, breakfast and free towels of course). The bathrooms were dirty, dorm was noisy, common area pretty much non-existent. I’ve been to many hostels worldwide and this one is one of the worst(definitely has the worst value for money ratio and vibe)

Hello! We are grateful for your feedback. We appreciate your opinion. We're sorry to hear of your less than satisfactory experience with us. However, for the sake of justice, we must admit, that some information that you have provided is not completely true. We would like to inform you that our hostel is registered on more than 20 online sales platforms, including our website. And each of them has its own pricing policy, so prices may vary. In addition, there is a dynamic pricing policy in our hostel, as in all others. No one is forcing the guest to pay the amount they do not want to pay. We offer the price we have. It is no secret that even when purchasing airline tickets, the customer may notice constant changes in ticket prices. It is worth noting that the price depends on many factors: season, occupancy of the accommodation facility, location (we are located in the city center), and even on the day of the week. But in the end, it is only the guest who personally and voluntarily makes the decision. Yes, there is an option to rent a small or a large towel for additional payment. Besides that, there are many other offers, discounts for our guests. We have many tours available for our clients at a reasonable price. There 6 types of breakfast offered to your own choice. The TEA IS FOR FREE in our hostel! WiFi is also Free! TOWELS are available for FREE in private rooms only. All the living rooms and bathrooms are cleaned every day, and moreover the staff checks the cleanliness every hour. So, it is quite unlikely that somewhere it was dirty. However, we don't exclude the situation when a bathroom was dirty just for 5-10 minutes after someone's usage. In our hostel, there is a rule of quiet hours - from 10 pm till 6 am. And everyone is informed about that during check-in. We do our best to make sure this rule works. We would like to kindly inform you that there are at least three common zones: the fully-equipped kitchen which can accommodate up to 12 persons at a time; cafe area with sofas, tables, chairs; and finally the huge reception area which serves as a co-working space. Again, we are very grateful for your review. And with full respect to your experience, it was also important to clarify some basic moments to let the other people have a full picture. If there was something that disappointed you, we apologize for any inconvenience that occurred during your stay with us. If there are any other questions, or please feel free to contact us directly. We will be very happy to support you with our best service. Best wishes, Lorf Hostels team

Great location and decent value for money. Legit 8 min walk to old town and near numerous attractions. Very quiet and safe but during the day there is construction going on next door. Have tram and bus stops very close to the hostel. Very clean and helpful staff. Breakfast not worth the 20zlotys though. And if you've booked into a dorm there is a deposit that needs to be made for the locker. And bring a towel and soap or you will have to pay, but I think the hostel mentions this in their policy section. Overall, great value for money.

Hello! We are very glad that you enjoyed living with us. We are very pleased to know that you have appreciated the work of our staff. Yes, our location is a real big advantage for our guests. That's right, we're very meticulous about cleanliness. As for the construction processes on the lower floor, they are already over. We apologize for the temporal inconvenience. Well, honestly saying this is a very reasonable price for a breakfast today in Krakow. As you probably noticed, there are six types of breakfast up to your choice. So, next time you are here, we will do our best to make you positively surprised by our menu!:) Regarding towels and shampoo, you are right it's always better to have some with yourself while traveling. But if you haven't got any, no worries, we will provide you with all the basic facilities you need. P.S. deposit for the key is always returned when the key is back to the reception:) We have some great offers for our permanent guests. So, next time you are in Krakow, we will be happy to see again. You are always welcome here! Thanks a lot for taking the time to leave your review. We appreciate it. Have a wonderful trip! Sincerely, Lorf Hostels Team

Good location in a nice and quiet neighbourhood, very close to the center. Very friendly staff, helpful and nice. We were leaving very early the last morning and they offered lunchboxes instead of breakfast - fantastic service. And nice lunchboxes indeed.
Dorms were simple and clean and so was the shared toilet/bathroom.
Very good value for not much money

We spent 3 nights here and the staff were very nice and helpful. Due to flight issues we didn’t arrive until 1am but the hostel responded to emails quickly and efficiently and the self check-in process was easy. This hostel is great for all travellers whether it’s couples, families, friends or solo particularly as it’s safe and a code is needed to enter every time with your own room key provided. Rooms were very clean with no issues regarding uncomfortable beds or lack of sleep. Location is excellent as the old town is only around a 5 minute walk away and there are a few supermarkets on the same street as the hostel just in case you need a snack! The kitchen was available to everyone with free usage of the fridge (for your sandwiches/ drinks etc). We found the baggage storage room very handy (which is also free until 8pm). This was an excellent hostel that we highly recommended. Thank you Lorf Hostel&Coffee.

I give 1 point because of the location and the fact that I can reach you immediately via WhatsApp. Apart from that, I paid for 2 weeks, but I barely stayed 1 night. The lack of a lock on the door of the room made me feel extremely uneasy. The sheets were not clean and there was a strong smell throughout the hostel. It is not a tolerable place, especially for women. If you buy directly because of the price and location, like me, you will have to look for a new place at night. I do not recommend.

This was my worst hostel experience. Firstly, the reception isn't open 24/7, so my check-in took place autonomously (which leaves no room for questioning). Secondly, it was noisy all night long. Both in my dorm, where several women were talking non-stop, and in the hostel, where there's no insulation so you can hear everything!!
I decided to leave the next day earlier than planned. I explained the situation to the manager (not even there in person, it had to be done via WhatsApp). The reply I received was that I couldn't be refunded for the 2 extra nights because 2 people in my dorm had refuted my claims. Obviously, if you decide to believe the accused, it's easier. The worst part is that I was implicitly reproached for coughing during the night (which is true because I couldn’t sleep because of the noise and I was sick!!! And I went to the bathroom as much as I could).
I'm not even talking about hygiene, as the cleanliness of the bathrooms leaves something to be desired.

The only reason people should stay here is if theu're in Krakow for a few days and want somewhere cheap. The dorms are quiet and not very social. However I doubt if they clean the sheets all that often because after one night I got small rash on my hand. The covers don't completely cover the bed so if you move in your sleep you will wake up with covers everywhere. So in summary only stay here if you need somewhere cheap and for a couple of days and will spend most of your time out and about.

Both the check-in and checkout process were easy and the people were very helpful. However, the reason why I’m rating so low is because the entire hostel had a very disgusting smell to it and the worst was the bed I was staying in had a really distinct odor, it was almost like the most disgusting humans body odor you’ve ever smelt. This smell lingered on everything that touched that bed for a few days after until I could get a washing machine. The place was very loud & the people in the hostel were not very respectful in this sense of sound and they kept slamming the doors everywhere. If you enjoy a hostel just as a place to stay then you’ll fit in perfect here, but be aware of your nose and your ears. Also the common areas were very dark and not well lit so it felt uninviting in the whole building

I booked a bed in an 8 person room via their website. But they gave me a bed in a 12 person room. I could choose it myself and pay less. I had to talk to them on the phone but could not agree on anything. They didn't listen. They just said they can cancel my booking and refund the price, in the middle of the night. I could myself book a better place if I knew they would behave like this.
