While I did not stay at Dom Polonii, I was here for a private reception for which there was comfortable space and good wine and adequate nibbles. While I was thrilled to be able to hear some fine music, the piano needs tuning.

We went for a breakfast and there is a huge different between the quality and the price.. 10€ per person for just one sandwich and coffee, amazing... I do not know about the appartments, just talking about the cafeteria Segafredo downstairs.

Quick and nice service, small but well placed terasse, simple but fresh and good dishes. If you search a place for quick meal and reasonable prices, you can go to Dom Polonii. Sorry, but hotel, we did not try...

A third floor room. In US it would be the fourth floor. Then, with the 12 foot ceilings, you have some overall height and a climb up. No elevator. Since we travel with Rick Steves Classic bags we just went up. If you have one of those roller bags. Have fun on the 94 steps and the 9 landings. We travel light. Now we are in a classic room. Big bed, small kitchen off to the side. Nice bathroom. Everything clean. The room makes me think of the 1920s. I like these types of hotels. So different from the US. Windows are 8 feet high and you can throw them open and lean out and look at the big main square. Unless you are fit or determined, you might want to consider the stairs here. I am thinking the average American would not like this place. Too many steps, not modern enough. If you have a 50 pound roller bag, you will suffer.

Great location, central Krakow main square. Stayed in room 1 over looking the front of the building, large room with comfortable double bed, and a sofa bed. Small kitchen with fridge and sink and kettle and assorted crockery and cutlery. Milk was supplied in the fridge, but be aware, no tea coffee sugar etc were provided, so if you want a brew take some with you! The bathroom was modern with over bath shower that worked. Towels were provided. The room is simply decorated and initially I thought all the brown and beige was a little 1970, however I grew to love it as part of our Polish experience, and anyway the accommodation was spotlessly clean, so who cares about the colour scheme! Breakfast is served on the ground floor restaurant, is simple and filling, bread cheese ham pate etc. The mushroom omelettes were good. Tea comes with a slice of lemon, if you want it with milk, you have to ask for it, everyone speaks English, and nothing is a problem. My whole experience was positive. Yes there are 85 steps up to the top floor, I counted them, we knew about the steps before we went, as seemingly none of the buildings round the square have lifts. The climb did leave me panting, but you do get used to it, and saw it as enforced exercise to counter act the eating out and drinking! if you are averagely fit don't let the stairs put you off. There is a "gentleman's club" next door, it didn't affect our stay in any way so don't be put off by thinking it's a seedy area, it's not. Would I stay there again? Yes 100%
