We booked for 4 nights with trips organised everyday. We had a huge room with 3 beds in it for 2 of us. It was clean, practical and above all lovely and warm. It was around -1to-5 during our stay. We asked about a kettle and they gave us one, but no coffee, only tea bags and no m

The hotel was nice and good. The rooms were clean. And the staff was so welcoming. But there was no attention to the breakfast: it was so simple and the waiters/kitchen team did not pay attention to repfil the trays.

Really good 4 nights here, room was over looking the street and couldn't hear a sound at night from outside. The full hotel was spotless and breakfast was really good too with good times in the morning.

We stayed at the Matejko hotel for 4 nights on 1st October 2018, we had never been to Krakow before so we chose the hotel that was central and easy to get to, the Matejko didn't disappoint us, its about 10 minutes stroll to the Old Town, and the same to the bus and railway statio

What is the closest train station
Glowny is the main station. If you arrive at Krakow airport there is a direct train into Glowny, and from there, you can get out through the shopping mall and you will reach Matejko in less than 10 minutes on foot.

Going to hotel next week. I'm hoping the Christmas markets are going to be on. Are they fairly near the hotel as my sense of direction in pretty much rubbish. Also we have a voucher to do the Auschwitz and Birkenau tour is this a good tour to do ?
Hi. The hotel is within easy walking distance from the town square, about 10 to 15 bminutes past the Barbican and along Florianska street. The hotel is located just on the other side of the main road which surrounds the old city and the "park" around the old walls known as the Planty. It is also very close to the new shopping Mall called "Galeria Krakow". We have been to the Auschwitz/Birkenau site, To be honest, we were so upset by it that we only managed to do the morning visit around the old army baracks which was the original camp. It is a museum and memorial, but it is not a fun day out, so be prepared for the emotions that you will experience when you see the "exhibits" and realise just what happened there. You might find a trip to the Wieliczka salt mines much more rewarding and enjoyable.

Just booked a short break at the Matejko for early December. How easy is it to find if you get the train from the airport. And what stop would you ask for ? Thank you
Sorry we got a taxi from the airport so I'm not sure about trains - but the main train station is behind the hotel / about 300m away so you should be able to find it ok

"we stayed in 303, 3rd floor on the front over looking the square"
"we have booked 3 double rooms and apparently our room was the smallest so I believe most rooms are bigger than Room no 202"
"Choose a room with a street view"
"Try to get a room as far away from the church as possible."
"If you like having the window open you may prefer rooms at the back or opening west onto Place Jana Matejki as it is a much quieter street."
