Arrived at around 10pm reception were extremely friendly and helpful.

Room was gorgeous, beds comfy, lovley bathroom stocked with shower gel and shampoo, also has a hair dryer.

Cleaned daily, fresh towels left every day and the tea and coffee facilities stocked up daily also bottled water too.

Breakfast was a huge variety, cereals, hot buffet, toast, cakes, croissants, fruit, cheese, hams yogurts and plenty more. Saw a sign for omlettes if you wanted one making you could order one.

Drinks at the hotel bar were slightly higher priced than in the school but not massively over priced. A large beer was 17ztl where as out and about it was around 14/15ztl so not a huge difference.

Could not fault this hotel the staff couldn't do enough for you.

Had a lovley stay and would definatley recommend this hotel.

It is around a 10/15 minute walk to the main square.

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights, from our arrival to departure we were looked after wonderfully by all staff. Breakfast was good with a choice of cooked or continental, we booked a superior room and were allocated toom number 103 which was well equipped with tea/coffee, hair dryer and shower soaps.
The food at Fab Fusion was 'spot on', we were so impressed that we decided to dine there on 2 occasions of our four night stay. The bar charges were very reasonable and with 'happy hour' between 16:00-18:00 this brought the price of a large beer down approximately to £1.70.

If you are thinking of booking a stay at this hotel please do not hesitate in booking I am sure you will not be disappointed.

When is a upgrade a down grade.

Booked this hotel through British Airways,on arriving at reception we were informed by Anna we had been upgraded. We had booked a upgrade when booking through British Airways ,so we were pleased to be upgraded further.

If you like to listen to chairs scrapping at night and early in the morning, room 112 is for you.

Unfortunately it is directly above the bar area, only on the second night did I realise were the noise was coming from, otherwise I would have requested a room change.

Room itself excellent, except if you are short like my wife, then you will love trying to step over a high bath,on to a slippy bath, maybe some form of grip for your feet would be helpful, getting out just as dangerous.
Shower cap not provided on the first night, there on the second night.

Food quality wise, excellent, breakfast and evening meal.

Dined in the hotel on two nights of our stay, really enjoyed the meals.
10 per cent discount if you are staying at the hotel on evening meals, except on a Monday night when the girl serving failed to apply the discount.
On check out I asked if the discount had been applied to our meals, where the failed discount was spotted.

I would not recommend booking your trip to Auschwitz with the hotel tours company they promote.
My wife left her glasses at the restaurant at Auschwitz ( long story will keep it simple), the driver would not go back ,saying he would ring his colleague who was at the restaurant, to ask about the glasses.
Not there was his reply on being asked on returning to the bus.
The next day I emailed the information centre at Auschwitz, they sent back to say they were in the restaurant and had been handed in to lost property. They have since posted the glasses back to us.

The restaurant staff are well aware of the scrapping chair issue, telling us the rubber on the bottom of the chairs are renewed regularly to try and stop the noise.

Location wise excellent.

Went midday to Schindler's factory without booking,no problem obtaining entrance tickets. Would recommend booking on line if you want to guarantee entry, tickets are limited if you have not booked. Turned down Anna,s suggestion of booking a tour as the only way we would get in on the day, not cheap, great if you want a guided tour.

Easy to use the trams if you want to get about quicker, just remember to stamp your ticket when you get on,otherwise big fine if not done and the inspector catches you.
Free to travel if you are over 70 and carry id with you, showing your date of birth.

Yes we would happily stay at this hotel again, but not in a room over the bar and restaurant area, if you are offered a room in this area and you like a late night and a early morning, enjoy.

Reception staff not aware of any noise issue on checking out,bar staff are aware.

Maybe they should have a chat to each other or better still put a carpet down, on the floor in the bar area.

Had to change hotels at the 11th hour and could not have asked for a better hotel to spend our 3 nights in Krakow than The Metropolitan Boutique Hotel. Great location for the Old Town, down the road from the city river and for generally accessing all tourist spots of this great Polish city. Greeted on arrival in a very nicely presented Reception area, checking in was very easy and quick and soon landed in our upgraded superior room on the 4th floor. Bedroom was very big with a huge bed, the most comfortable pillows ever( big and small), coffee and tea making facilities and plenty of hangers for our travelled clothes. Bathroom very modern with a great shower. Breakfast was very nice and plenty to choose from, both hot and cold. Also had a meal the evening before we left for the airport and was exceptional and can highly recommend. Great hotel for what turned out to be the perfect weekend!

long weekend, greeted by lovely staff, speaking good english pointed out local restaurants which we tried during our stay and were not disappointed. Highly recommend Sasiedzi (meaning neighbour) lovely atmosphere here food and service was excellent only a short walk from the hotel.
Organised trips to the salt mines, Auscwitz and Birkenau. I would definitely top up your history knowledge before doing these tours, they are fascinating and a must for everyone.Hotel made us a packed lunch small cost for Auscwitz/Birkenau as a day trip with very limited refreshments available. We were very glad we did, take change for the toilets will need to pay. We were picked up from the hotel by a small mini bus.We did the underground museum and visited the castle to which the attractions inside are all payable dependant on what you want to see. Don't loose your ticket as you will need to scan this for the toilet or you will have to pay 2zl. Our room was very comfortable and tidied every day, i presume different staff at weekend? as not quite so pristine if I'm being picky. Breakfast was lovely with a mixture of cooked food, bread, fruit etcThe restaurant was really nice, no complaints and really nice to sit and have a drink during happy hour
We had a superior double room no view tho it was just a side street. Very modern ensuite, comfy large bed, usb ports either side
Excellent hotel, really friendly and fairly close to both the Jewish quarters and Krakow main square.

We have visited Krakow several times and this was our first time staying at the Metropolitan. Check in was very quick, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We booked a junior suite, which was lovely and spacious and overlooked the courtyard. The room amenities included free wifi, safe, iron & ironing board, robes & slippers, coffee making machine, kettle and a fridge with a choice of reasonably priced beverages. The bathroom was a very good size and had complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer.

The hotels location is perfect. Located in the Jewish Quarter you are approx a 10-15min walk to both Rynek Glówny (main square), and Ghetto Heroes Square, and a few mins walk to restaurants/bars within the area. There are plenty of supermarkets within a very close proximity too.

Our rate included breakfast. The choice at breakfast was very good. It included cold meats, cheese, cereals, fruits, yoghurt, pastries and cooked breakfast (eggs, bacon, beans & sausage) basically something for everyone. We also had dinner in the hotels restaurant Fab Fusion. The menu had a great selection of European/Polish dishes and was very reasonably priced. The food was excellent and the service was both quick and extremely friendly.

When we return again, to Krakow, we will definitely stay at the Metropolitan. We highly recommend this hotel.

We've just returned from a short break in Kraków and this hotel was perfect. Comfortable, modern, luxurious rooms with walk in showers , friendly staff and great facilities . Everything you need for an enjoyable break is here, we ate in the restaurant on eight and the food was amazing and reasonably priced considering its hotel prices. Breakfast is both continental and hot food all of which is fresh and delicious. In terms of location the restaurant is about ten to fifteen minute walk from wavelength castle and the main square and about five minutes from restaurants and bars in the Jewish quarter. Highly recommended.

I can honestly say this is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. There were 4 of us in a superior family room. We got two interconnecting rooms with doors in between. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were equipped with everything you could possibly need.
The staff in the hotel were all extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was any trouble for them and they really made our stay most enjoyable.
The hotel is in a great location for exploring the city. We either walked to the Main Square or got a taxi which only cost about £3.50/£4. We also took the trips to Auschwitz and The Salt Mines that were organised through the hotel. Both of these trips were extremely well organised and we very much enjoyed them.
Breakfast was fantastic with a great selection of hot and cold foods.
Overall this hotel is a definite 10 out of 10 and fantastic value for money. We will definitely be back.

This was a return visit to The Metropolitan having visited last Feb as well. We stayed in a junior suite which was kept spotlessly clean and had everything we could wish for. Very comfortable bed with luxurious bedding. Breakfast had plenty choice and you could order speciality coffees at the bar free of charge. We ate at Fab Fusion the first night and although they were very busy the manager managed to accommodate us after a short wait. Food and drinks very reasonably priced along with a great happy hour between 4 pm and 6 pm.
Very good location for both Old Town and Jewish Quarter.
Staff were all very pleasant and professional, couldn’t do enough for you. We ordered a taxi transfer through reception which was very reasonable at 90 Zl. They were also happy to book restaurants for us and a trip to The Salt Mines.
Would certainly recommend this hotel for a lovely stay in Kraków.

How much do the hotel charge for Auschwitz excursion? Can it be booked on arrival?
Answer from Dan B
Madison, Alabama6 contributions7 helpful votes
It can be booked there but I would recommend you order through Trip Advisor in advance. Most, if not all on here, offer hotel pickup and drop off for the tours. We did the salt mine and Auschwitz as a combined tour in the same day. Booked through here. Amazing but certainly tiring after all the walking. Enjoy your trip. The hotel is excellent.
