I had booked a 4 night stay at the Hotel Wyspianski on Westerplatte a 3* hotel that I have frequently visited, however due to lack of visitors the Wyspianski was closed & I was transferred to the 4* Amadeus a sister hotel 100m closer to town centre, so far so good as why should I complain. The Amadeus was completely dead I had a large room but the carpets were threadbare hardly becoming of a 4* hotel & it all went wrong from breakfast the next morning. I was the only guest attending breakfast it would appear, nothing hardly was laid out just a few continental scraps. The waitress seemed unwelcoming I asked for hot food she said we have sausages & scrambled egg< I do not like polish sausage so asked for bacon, we have no bacon so I just get the smallest portion of scrambled egg delivered to me & there was nothing else really to eat, I ordered toast & 1 slice of small bread arrived, I made a hasty get away & thought no way am i paying £15 for this breakfast so I did not & went elsewhere for the next 3 mornings. AFdter a day stay I asked for my room to be cleaned & towels, bins emptied, tea & coffee replenished & the receptionist in broken english indicated that there were no staff to clean the room due to lockdown, this went on for the entire stay no visit in 4 days from housekeeping, I went to ask for at least tea/coffee to be replaced again nothing. This was the most depressing/dreary hotel stay I have ever encountered & I am well travelled. I spent most of my time away as a result in the wonderful centre of Krakow, only to sleep in my increasingly deteriorating room. I could not wait for my taxi to collect me to leave this place, needless to say if I am booked into the Wyspianski which i know/enjoy why subject me to this?

My wife and i booked Hotel Amadeus in Krakow Poland as a tack on land leg of a planned cruise from Iceland to Svalbard Norway which eventually disembarked in Oslo Norway . We did book the hotel as non-refundable through Travelocity. Long story short. The flight to Iceland, the cruise, ALL the subsequent flights from Oslo to Krakow and Krakow back to the USA were all cancelled by the cruise co. and airlines with full refunds offered. After contacting both Travelocity and Hotel Amadeus we were able to secure a full refund from Hotel Amadeus (At first they offered only a voucher) after a very short back and forth even though the booking was in the non refundable category. Once I explained my wife and I were in the high risk category for COVID and would not travel until the pandemic had passed and / or vaccines wereo0ffered they offered a full refund. I am hoping that a vaccine is offered soon so we can rebook our bucket list planned cruise and still go through Poland where I would like to still stay at Amadeus to repay them for their kindness and thoughtful refund.

Stayed in room 202, as suggested room 2 on the second floor . Was pleasantly surprised On entering hotel it has a slightly antique aura very clean and smells lovely . Entered room and again was surprised Very pleasant indeed plenty of space and everything the average traveller could want TV, kettle ,Hair dryer ,and even a well stocked mini bar (fridge) Bathroom has a good shower WC and sink with shaver point etc and plenty of white fluffy towels with Amadeus logo stitched in . Room has wardrobe dressing table and a table and chairs Bed is a little low but matches all the other furniture in room .Strange way of dressing the double bed both sides have a duvet folded lengthways and then a bedspread is on top to finish , bed looks very lumpy because of this but was surprisingly comfortable. So room was fine but best part re this Hotel is its location a 2 min walk to the main square everything most people need to see easily walked .Fantastic breakfast cafe a couple of hundred yards away (Large Irish Breakfast) but menu is large something for everybody , Also within a couple of hundred yards is a fantastic Steak restaurant Moo Moo steak and Wine check it out you will be glad you did . This Hotel is highly reccomended ,staff are very pleasant and do not mither you in any way .

Hotel is a short walk to the main square. Staff are very helpful and efficient. They helped book a tour to Auschwitz, booked taxi to airport and made an excellent recommendation for breakfast. I asked for more tea bags and they were delivered to my room in less than 5 minutes. Room was at the front of the hotel and I left the window open as the room was a bit hot for me. However, there was some street noise. Wasn't too much of an issue and was fine when I closed the window. Hotel receptionist also provided some lovely umbrellas as one of our days was a bit of a wash out. Bedroom and bathroom were spotless. A lovely hotel in a great location. Would recommend.

Stayed for four nights and the hotel was amazing. Central, clean, and very comfortable with excellent staff. Good breakfast selection. Location is great for a quick stroll into the main square (two streets away). Would stay here again!

Room Tip: A room at the back of the hotel may be quieter as the noise from people in the street is a bit...
