We were a party of six away for the weekend . On arrival we were shown our rooms and immediately we knew there was a problem as the beds were at best 3/4 doubles and everything was set up for one person . We went straight to reception to rectify this or upgrade our rooms the girl told us that these were standard doubles and that we could not upgrade as the Hotel was full . Therefore we felt there was nothing to be done and decided to try to put up with the rooms . The next day I went to ask for more tea and coffee , whilst doing this Sylvia informed us there was a problem and indeed we were in the wrong rooms as there had been a problem with the booking and had only expected 3 people . I can assure you we didnt forget we were bringing partners . And we all filled out forms when we arrived so was clearly 6 of us . I explained we had tried to rectify it by changing rooms but with the Hotel being full there was nothing to be done . Sylvia then informed us that the Hotel was not full at all and manage to find us 3 rooms immediately , bare in mind this was only 9 am so they must have been empty the day before as turn around isnt that fast . The rooms were much better and far more comfortable then the previous night but we were really made to pay for the privilege . Where as we really should have paid less due to the uncomfortable night the night before . My husband and I was lucky as we got a room at the back so wasnt troubled by noise where as the other 2 couples struggled to sleep due to the noise coming from the 24 hour bar directly across the road . Breakfast was barely adequate and took a long time to replenish hot food . If you want a good nights sleep then try somewhere else . Sorry but the Grand really did not live up to expectations . Praise for Sylvia as she tried her best to help when we encountered a problem with a tour we booked . Yes its convenient for everything but quality of sleep is very important . Would we return to Krakow ? In a heart beat . Would we stay at the Grand ? Most definitely not .…
Lovely hotel, really impressed, beautiful decor and stunning room. We were moved rooms as our hot water wasnt even tepid, this was done with no hassle at all , very helpful staff. Breakfast was lovely. The hotel is situated perfectly for the square, I would return as long as the building work on a full apartment block us completed, very noisy and begun at 6.30am everyday.
Just returned from a marvellous week at the beautiful Grand Hotel in Kraków. I cannot explain how well everyone treated us from the excellent reception staff, bar staff, Hotel room cleaning lady to the ever welcoming doorman. They all were a credit to a well deserved 5 star rating. The location is perfect for the main square and the other gems that Kraków offers. Our room was perfect, both large and comfortable with coffee making facilities. The decor of the Hotel is wonderful, used to be a palace and still resembles one. A huge thanks to everyone at The Grand for making our stay so memorable. Regards Michael Clarke
It is a beautiful but old style in the heart of the city center. Good location. Pubs, Restaurants, Trams are all within walk able distance. Night life is vibrant and great. Excellent Breakfast and Staff is very helpful.
It's a beautiful old hotel, makes you feel like you've gone back in time. Super close to all the major attractions in Krakow like the Wawel Castle and the town square. Big, comfortable, clean rooms. Great, helpful staff. Lovely restaurant and cafe/bar. Would definitely recommend.
This is a very old hotel but very nice. Rooms all have high ceilings. We had a suite with 2 rooms connected by a sitting area. Not real fancy but very nice. Rooms have armoires (free standing closets) Bathroom was very nice. Breakfast was included and very satisfying every morning. A short walk to the castle or turn from that direction and walk 5 minutes (10?) and you are in the town square which is beautiful. We were there end of January and Christmas decorations are out until some religious holiday on Feb. 2nd so it was very festive. We were there 4 nights, visited Zakopane one day and stopped for vodka nad goat cheese on the way then did the mineral baths after by the ski area. Visit the salt mine, very much worth the effort. We did not visit the concentration camps because we thought it depressing, but others found it quite a tour.…
We stayed for 3 nights on a business Trip at the grand hotel. Rooms were clean and large enough but the matresses really need changeing soon. They were clean, but quite old and soft. Otherwise, there are no parking place directly at the hotel, they have a guarded place about 5min away by foot. Last Thing, it is located directly in the City Center, where a lot of bars are located too. So it can be noisy outside.
Spent 3 nights at this beautiful hotel. The grand old building is like stepping back in time. Large, comfortable, spotlessly clean room. Comfortable bed, lovely linen, good bathroom. Staff are wonderful, friendly and very polite, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was very nice, plenty to choose from and served by wonderful staff. You truly are made to feel special in this glorious hotel. Definitely 5 stars from me.
Can’t possible describe how disappointed I am with the staff. Flight delayed - called them to let them know we wouldn’t arrive until 6am the following day. They acknowledged the late arrival and proceeded to give up our room and rebook us in a different hotel across town. Will never forget or forgive them as my wife cried as we drive through the porn district to get to the hotel they rebooked is in. SHAME!!! SHAME !!!
We arrived Friday evening, upon arrival we were met by a GRAND interior with very attentive staff, the concierge and reception staff were very very helpful. We only ate breakfast on the Saturday morning which was beautiful and in such a beautiful dining room that were overlooked by beauriful balconies. The breakfast consisted of continental meats, cheeses and pastries, it also gave a nice selection of a polish sausage, scrambled eggs, beans and mushrooms, Fruit, cereals, tea and coffee were also available. Unfortunately we experienced a bad night with a bar and had pretty much no help from the local police and ambulance service which resulted in our trip being brought down. We stayed within the hotel for the next two days, the staff were aware of what happened and were more than helpful to us, we do wish to return in the near future to this beautiful and very well situated hotel. A big thank you too then staff team at the Grand Hotel, you made our visit worth every minute. Nathan and Rebecca Kidd.…
