We stayed here for three days to once again sample the delights of this incredibly beautiful city (where we had three glorious July sunny days, just before Youth Week, and the Pope's visit) Very briefly - Decor - elegant and beautiful throughout. Almost Art Deco, very old-world and interesting. Service - really friendly, not just because they have to be,... More

I would really recommend this hotel it was situated by the main square, so close to local attractions, places to eat and shopping centre. Good breakfast buffet choice of hot and cold food and again good food when we ate in the restaurant one night. Staff couldn't do enough for us and even gave us a 'doggy bag' for the... More

This hotel is so charming. You feel as if you have stepped back into a lost era of refined touring. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful without the obsequious pandering of some luxury hotels. The buffet is delightful, and which hotel offers you a lunch box for your onward journey, gratis? I am definitely coming back.

For many decades, back in the communist era and earlier still, the Hotel Francuski was the place to head for when staying in Krakow. The old lady does her best to keep up appearances with her grand staircase, spacious rooms, friendly staff and wonderful breakfast buffet. But in 2016, tourists also look for trouble-free plumbing, reliable wifi and recent beds.... More

This hotel is stunning, the Edwardian feel to the place is part of your visit not just a place to sleep & shower. The staff are wonderful & take a genuine interest in getting their job right to make your stay a pleasure. This goes for all the staff no matter what their job is. The breakfast is one of... More

My wife and I recently stayed at the Francuski and found it a hotel in need of modernisation, air conditioning would be a good start. The hotel does have a feel of old world elegance about it and the breakfast buffet was okay. It is reasonably centrally located. We discovered an electric socket hanging from the wall behind a bedroom... More

The hotel arranged our transfer from the airport. It is an old and rather dark, but good hotel. The staff was very helpful and nice. The location is good in the old town. Breakfast was fine, but there was only one coffee machine, which made a constant queue.

I stayed here on a short break (Friday - Monday) and booked flight and hotel via BA website. This hotel did not disappoint. I was warmly welcomed by the door man and the reception. My room was more like a suite with a sitting room and a TV in each room. There was a towelling robe neatly folded on the... More

Eleven of us visited Poland to pay our respects at Auschwitz plus the Salt Mines and St Mary's Cathedral, Hotel Francuski was an excellent base for our trips and waling into the city centre, The hotel staff are friendly and the establishment is full of character as well at being good value for money, we would defiantly stay again

We stayed in Room 101 for 4 nights in June 2016. We were welcomed by a door man and a receptionist who both spoke good English and were very friendly. The hotel is very traditional - you almost feel like you are staying on the set of a historical movie, but it is clean and well maintained. Free Wi Fi... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
French hotel is located in historic centre of Krakow, opposite The Princes Czartoryski Museum, few meters from the old city walls and the Barbakan. Within easy reach there are many galleries, jewelry stores and during tourist season - also a bazaar with works of art, presented by the old defensive wall. Whole French Hotel is filled with old elegance what is already evident upon entering the lobby and impressive staircase with columns. It is the oldest building in Krakow erected immediately as a hotel - was opened in 1912. Interior is influenced by the popular at that time an art deco style. The rooms and suites are decorated with wallpapers, pictures, and graphics showing former Krakow, as well as solid, stylized furniture. The bathrooms are comfortably furnished and spotlessly clean. Some suites may be combined, by which the hotel is recognised among traveling families. Listening to a clock beating in the lobby or sipping tea in a cafe, you can travel in imagination hundred years to the past. The building is famous for almost a hundred years of its restaurant serving delicious Polish cuisine. ... more   less
