4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Decent sized room, with lots of wardrobe space and big bathroom with ample hot water (sometimes a woorry in old hotels). Slippers provided and bathrobes which is a nice touch, especially as I think the carpet has seen better days. Lift worked well, which again can be unusual in a old hotel. Location is brilliant, as a short walk to... More

Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. It is amazing. An absolutely stunning establishment sympathetically and tastefully decorated in art deco style. The staircase is exquisite. The staff are warm and welcoming and cannot do enough to look after you. The breakfast is out of this world. Perfectly located in the Old Town. A must stay for anyone visiting Krakow.

What an absolutely beautiful hotel. We had been allocated this hotel as part of a 3 night break so we weren't expecting too much. Couldn't believe it when we arrived! Like stepping into an episode of 'Poirot' .☺First thing you see is an amazing staircase which is stunning! Staff so helpful and attentive nothing too much trouble. Rooms are in... More

I cant fault the staff and the the old look about the place in the heart of Krakow. Breakfast was very nice and what they lacked in plumbing due to old pipe work they made up with bending over backwards to help and advise with the stay. I would recommend 100%

What a cracking hotel, booked this one after reading the reviews. Yes it's old but that just adds to the character, very clean, staff very friendly, nothing was too much trouble, even did us a free pack up for lunch for one of the trips we did! Breakfast was good with plenty of choice, which was good, (would have been... More

Two of us stayed here for four nights in May. We absolutley loved the hotel. Beautiful period decor through out, lovely robes in the bathroom made us feel so spoilt! The staff are all so friendly - ready to help out in whatever way they can - booked all our tours and transfers for us. The hotel is situated about... More

Located just a few minutes walk from the old square, the hotel is perfectly placed for sightseeing and soaking up the atmosphere. The generously sized rooms are classically decorated and well appointed with nicely fitted bathrooms and comfortable beds. The staircase is magnificent and both the interior and exterior of the building ooze style. The staff are efficient, friendly and... More

Booked this hotel because of it's great reviews and traditional style. We were not disappointed, polite, smiling courteous staff. Large room with large comfortable bed and great bathroom with everything we needed. Huge wardrobe and tea making facilities in the room which you don't always get outside UK. Loved the grand staircase and the olde world charm. Breakfasts were great,... More

Twin room with all the usual services, plenty of storage, comfortable beds. Breakfast very good, wide selection of cold meats and cheese, bread, salads, cereals, hot food, fruit and yoghurts. Restaurant food excellent 10%.discount if staying in hotel, average cost for two people and two courses, with two beers £23. Hotel staff were also very good, like a mini tourist... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
French hotel is located in historic centre of Krakow, opposite The Princes Czartoryski Museum, few meters from the old city walls and the Barbakan. Within easy reach there are many galleries, jewelry stores and during tourist season - also a bazaar with works of art, presented by the old defensive wall. Whole French Hotel is filled with old elegance what is already evident upon entering the lobby and impressive staircase with columns. It is the oldest building in Krakow erected immediately as a hotel - was opened in 1912. Interior is influenced by the popular at that time an art deco style. The rooms and suites are decorated with wallpapers, pictures, and graphics showing former Krakow, as well as solid, stylized furniture. The bathrooms are comfortably furnished and spotlessly clean. Some suites may be combined, by which the hotel is recognised among traveling families. Listening to a clock beating in the lobby or sipping tea in a cafe, you can travel in imagination hundred years to the past. The building is famous for almost a hundred years of its restaurant serving delicious Polish cuisine. ... more   less
