Three of us stayed at the Krakow City Apartments. Conveniently located less than 5 minute walk from the main square, we found the location perfect. It is a spacious two bedroom apartment set on two floors. Very clean, and beds comfortable. Tours to Auschwitz and Salt Mines can be booked at reception very easily. The apartment is very secure. Fabulous restaurant just down the street, 20's vibe and an excellent piano player. Food is amazing. Be sure to go there. If I ever go back to Krakow, which I definitely will as I still have so much to see there (Wawel Castle), I will stay here for sure.

The location is perfect,5 mins from the beautiful city square,5 mins from the bus and train station which are right next to each other. There is also a huge shopping centre "Galarie Krakowski" 7 minute walk, right next to the bus station. For any bus trips go to information desk at bus station they will tell you where to go as there is construction work at the moment. We would recommend a visit to Zakopane, which is a beautiful town surrounded by the Tatras mountains. It is a two and a half hour journey to the Tatras mountains by bus.((15zl per person each way which is about 3.75euro)you pay the bus driver on the bus. You can get a cable car ride right up to the tip of the mountain, with breath-taking views it is well worth a visit. The receptionist (Monika)was very friendly and helpful . She will help you with anything you need. she ordered a taxi for us to take us to a huge shopping centre. This was about 15 mins by taxi which cost 10 zl (about 2.50euro) . Be careful when changing your currency to zloti as they all vary. The exchange 3 doors up on the left as you exit the main door of apartments on to the street is the most reasonable I found and I checked a lot of them. some will offer you 3.11 zl per euro but you should be getting 4zl+ per euro. A visit to the salt mines is a great day out for the family(maybe not small children as there are about 350 steps down to the 1st level.Go to the right hand side of geleriia Krakowski(shopping centre) there you will get a local bus no 304 to the salt mines. you must purchase a ticket either at a machine at the bus stop or also on the bus there is a machine. be sure to validate tickets on bus. (a little punching machine opposite ticket machine on bus). Conductors dressed in normal clothes appear out of nowhere to check your tickets. there are usually 3 on each bus ride.l would also recommend hiring cycling bikes as the area is very easy to cycle around especially down by the river

We visited Krakow for a long weekend and stayed at the Krakow City Apartments. They were very nice - clean, and big with a kitchen, dining and sitting area and separate bedroom. They don't change towels daily which is no big deal just be aware of that. You may want to bring your own soap, shampoo as what was provided was minimal. It's in a great location - close to the city square. I don't believe they have air conditioning but you can open the windows.
I would stay here again.

We have just returned from a four day stay in Apartment 12 with my fiancée & a friend. The apartment is spotless, the staff helpful &
the location is perfect. It is minimalist but everything you need
is there. The only draw back is that the lounge (4 chairs & the TV)
is actually situated in the main bedroom. Our view was spectacular at
night looking out over the Theatre. Szpitalna street can be noisy at night due to the location. Also please be careful when changing money
round the corner near the city walls (orange board) as the shop is a complete rip off & the rate is not as displayed but most of the others
are fine.
Currently the Airport has no train station & when we arrived there
was a scrum for the bus which was already packed. We thought we would have to wait for the next bus until "Bob" appeared offering to take us to town for 60 Zloty, I was slightly dubious but two locals joined us
& he was a top bloke who did exactly what was requested in his registered Taxi that was parked round the corner. He gave us his card
& I booked him by text for our 8am pick up for the flight home. If you need a taxi in Krakow you could do a lot worse than Boguslaw Stachurski on 0048501186476. Overall a great trip, Aushitz still manages to shock no matter how well you know your history but worth it. I would also recommend a City Tour in one of the Golf Buggys opposite on the 1st day because it really helps your orientation. We got a 3 hour tour for 300 zloty (£60 - 3 x £20 each) but please barter. Would also recommend the Bull pub in the smaller square for good simple well priced Food & Beer. Would deffo recommend Krackow & Krackow City Apartments. Steve,Nicola & Martin.

We were a party of four friends flying from Stansted to Krakow Airport on a three day visit. We were met at Krakow Airport by a very nice taxi driver who took us to the office for Old City Apartments' where we given brief instructions, two sets of keys and a map by a young lady who rushed through everything and spoke very quickly. We were told we could walk to the apartments' from the office using the instructions provided. When we eventually found the apartment (nearly 3/4 hours later) we could not get in using the key provided, however just by chance another guest was letting themselves in and informed us we needed a door code to enter the building - this important information was not noted anywhere on our map or instructions from the office.
There is a small lift and a stone staircase up to the various apartments. This was dark, dingy and smelt of stale urine! On entering the apartment it was obviously not as pictured or described on the website. It smelt damp and foisty; the two bedroom apartment was really one room divided into two by a frosted glass sliding door to make the two bedrooms. There were two single beds pushed together in each room that were advertised and shown as a double, when we lifted up the mattress protector the mattress itself was stained and had black hairs over it - yuk! The pillows were very small and were stained yellow! There were two table lamps by the bedside but only one electrical socket! We were provided with four small bath towels and one hand towel, no towel to stand on when coming out of the shower. There was a scruffy sofa which converted into a bed which had red grubby looking covers on it. There is a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, hob, dishwasher, fridge, crockery and cooking pots etc. The crockery/glasses were either chipped, cracked and all odd. We had to wash everything before we used it. Washing-up liquid is provided but no dish cloth or t-towel or dishwasher tablets. The kettle had a spout like a watering can and was dangerous because it splashed boiling water everywhere. There is a large TV (it didn't work) an I-pod/I-pad charger and a set of sub-woofer speakers. There is also a large washing machine situated in the bathroom which we never used. The floors could have done with a good scrub throughout. The whole apartment was tired and felt grubby it could do with a refurbishment and was not the one shown in the picture on their website!

The group of 6 persons experienced an unpleasant stay at the apartment N7 (fourth floor) in January 2013. There was no privacy for 6 people, all the rooms were connected and the bathroom with the toilet was at the corner of one of the bedrooms, resulting in 1.5 hour queueing in the morning. Only half of the facilities mentioned in the description were actually present in the apartment. The kitchen was poorly equipped, and our New Year's party was spoiled, since we counted on the fair description of the apartment. The carpet in the living room was not cleaned at all, the blankets were 100cm wide and the bed was not >2m long as described. Everybody has their own criteria for choosing an apartment but we do it based on the description on the website, which we believe. In our case, the owner did not want to admit his fault of giving us a wrong apartment (not the one we actually booked). Such attitude is unacceptable in this case. We would not come back to this place definitely. There are better options for the same price 30 euro per person/night in the neighbourhood e.g. 3-star hotel with breakfast included. This was the first time we came across the staff of the apartment which does not care about the quality of the services provided, thus we decided to share our experience.

Couldn't fault anything about this place, location was perfect, owners were helpful, no parking but in Krakow you're better off without a car anyhow. Within 100 metres are a 24 hour supermarket, Kantor, restaurant and the theatre is directly across the road. We would recommend these apartments wholeheartedly and will definitely pay another visit soon. One of the few places we found with a lift.

this place dose not look much from the outside ,but once inside its a different story..the apartments are huge with everything you need like kitchen, sitting room ,bed room and bathroom ,they are equipped with a television, oven, micro wave, toaster, electric toaster and hair dryer.the only thing that was disappointing was no safes but not a big problem because all doors need a fob to get in and the building is secured ,the location is great the main square is just around the corner.with plenty of restaurants and pubs.we would definitely go back which is on the cards in the near future.very hard to fault this place.

Is there car parking available or is it paid public on road??

There is no car park close that we noticed, but the apartments are perfectly situated to walk everywhere. If you do need to park, I suggest that you ask the owners who are very friendly and helpful.

Yes, towels are provided and were changed once during our 4 night stay. I guess if you want them changing more often, you could ask reception and I’m sure they would be happy to change more often.

Hi, I emailed them on - info @ krakowapartments . info (without the spaces) and they responded quickly. Unfortunately there were very few English channels on the tv, only a couple of news channels but otherwise the apartment was perfect for a short break!

It seems you have 2 parts to your question. Firstly, at Auchswitz main meeting point for tourists before start of tour, there is a small cafeteria (hot drinks and pastries) for takeaway. I don't remember seeing any chairs for sitting down. There is usually a short break before you take the bus to camp 2, and yes you can bring your rucksack but it will have to be passed through security checks. Secondly, Krakow City Apartments is very near the town. Turn right from the main entrance of apartment and walk along Szpitalna Street and you will reach main square after 2 streets, about 2-3 mins walk! Turn left from apartment and you will find a nice restaurant, Szalone Widelce, just few shops away. :) The apartment is also near the train station. :)
